[Q] titanium backup help - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

odined to stock jk2 rooted then re-installed titanium. now wen i try to start titanium it force closes with process com keramidas.titaniumbackup has stopped
anyone have this before? and fixed it

Did you reboot?
Assuming you have, can you click "problems" to install busybox... may not help, but it's not going to hurt.

sevral times it wont let me get to the fix prblem part. I started on bi-winning beta three. then wanted to try malice so I installed it and titanium was not working malice instal. odined back to stock rooted and same issue with titanium. uninsaled it twice and downloaded it still same problem

There was an update tonight, maybe that is the issue?
go to:
http://matrixrewriter.com/android/files/TitaniumBackup.apk
you can get version 3.7.5 from there.

will let u know what happens need to instal ckw and flash it.
went back to trigger 2.8.1 then used free one included with rom to restore aps

could I take a nandroid of another vibrant and install it on this vibrant?

I had the same issue. If it happens again when there is no update. Delete the data in manage applications uninstall/re-install. Thats what I did and it got mine working again. For anyone else who may have this issue.

^ They put out a fix, it was only new installs of TB that were causing loops.

Girlfriends Fascinate just decided to randomly stop doing anything except showing lights on soft keys after rooting and lag fix. Decided if I've got to restore should try this. First flash I got stuck at a similar issue after VZW logo. Wiped data and cache and was able to boot but entered in to FC hell. Working on flashing back to stock Odin posted in other thread as we speak.
Update: realized I had only wiped data and not cache as well. after doing that was able to flash back to stock, trying this once more.
Update 2: No go, still FCing like crazy. Flashing back to stock.

I had the same issue. Install stock and then Angels. Wipe cache only and it should work. If you cant activate Google do a reset in settings and all is fine.
I'm sorry, but that's exactly what I experienced rooting and running the lag fix on a Vibrant. There is something flawed with the lag fix. I don't know what it is, but this is the 4th experience I've read about that's the exact same as mine.
Could Samsung change the file system with an OTA update? Is that even possible?

All the lag fixes have some issues right now. The best lag fix will come once samsung releases the source code for our phones. See here: http://project-voodoo.org/

[Q] I've got a stumper for you

I've done very extensive searches on this and even asked the question in the Nero V3 forum with zero help.
When I go to update my contacts with facebook I get a FC stating android.process.acore has stopped. I can't update with twitter or myspace either. I reflashed, rebooted, and I even went into titanium and did something that said it helps with FC's. Nothing.
I have a new Vibrant. I first flashed Axura 2.1 with no lagfix. I then flashed Nero V3 with no lagfix or voodoo. What can I do to update my contact list through facebook?
Thanks,
Gabe
Sounds like you've got ghosts to me. I had a similar problem when moving from one rom to another a few months ago. Simplest way to check, ODIN to stock (better than a wipe for cleaning out the cracks) and then flash your rom of choice. That should fix you right up as FB sync works like a champ for me on V3.
Also, not trying to bag on you, but for future reference, questions like this go in the Q&A section, not development.
Odin is your answer
Absolutely Odin back and start clean,,,,It's the only way to be sure. Jumping from ROM to ROM especially from different developers will undoubtably leave ghosts behind.
Also next time try to post something like this in the Q & A, no biggie, just thought you should know.
Well sometimes just a simple reflash let the rom load wait 20 mins without playing with it then reboot and play fixes the issue...sometimes it takes the phone a while to rebuild all of the file system...and if you try to install or setup things in the rom on first boot causes bugs...just a little food for thought.

Sorry about the post in the wrong place. I guess I'll figure out ODIN and go back to stock and try again. Thanks guys.
i had the same problem with Nero 3, even when I had odined to stock and then gone to nero 3, couldnt get rid of the issue, anyway as a temporary work around, you can go to settings>accounts and sync> add account, this way worked for me even when from contacts it was giving me FCs.
I thought nero v3 came with voodoo red recovery and all. Just wondering if you tried to fix permissions in advance recovery, or through rom manager ?
Might work sometimes works wonders.

Try booting into recovery, then clear cache, then go to advanced, clear delv cache, then fix permissions. Should be good after that. Kevin
Kevin,
I went to stock with ODIN. Then I put Nero V3 back on. Still doesn't work. I just followed your advice to the letter. Still no go. Any other ideas? Many thanks,

[q] froyo/sweet honey

I am fairly new to all this and am wondering if I need to have the stock Froyo installed to flash the new Sweet Honey 2.5 ROM. I thought I read that somewhere in the development forums. I am running Bionix 1.3.1, and the battery drains so fast I am looking for something else to try. If I Odin back to stock before I flash Sweet Honey, does it matter what I was using before? Thanks.
Noo you dont need to do nothing...just flash...if you odin back you will lose root...just flash the rom and thats all
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Yup, no need to Odin back unless you are having major issues. Just follow the installation instructions in the thread step-by-step and you shouldn't have a single issue.

I actually just switched from Bionix 1.3.1 to Sweet Honey to try it out and had no problems flashing it. Just make sure to do it from Rom Manager as suggested in the op.
Flashed it last night, and it is working like a champ. The only thing I couldn't do is install the updated G-mail app. When I hit the install button it says it is not installed. I have the most current G-mail app from the market, but I loved the new G-mail icon and would like to get it back. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I flashed sweet honey and i have problems receiving phone calls. then i flashed back to bionix 1.3, and i had alot of FCs. then i tried B 1.3.1 and still had force closes. so now im back to sweet honey. cuz odin wont reconize my phone in download mode
Now that you mention it, I haven't received any calls yet. I tried calling my phone from another phone, and it rings once and disconnects. Did you find a solution? Anyone out there have a solution? It's kind of important to be able to receive calls. I can initiate a call with no problems.
No i havent found a solution. im still trying to get my pc to reconize my phone in download mode. my phone is really messed up lol

You may have to go into Root Explorer, find the gmail app and long press it. You should get a menu pop up. Click fix permissions and make sure that read/write are checked for the first one and only read for the other two.

You two may want to send a message to Explodingboy and see if he can figure it out. I didn't seem to have that issue. My only question would be did you guys flash it like he suggested or did you just flash it through Clockwork recovery? My flashing addiction has taken me to Jellette's Atriarc rom which seems great as well.

[Q] noob question ?

is there anything different that u have to do if your flashing from 2.2 rom to 2.2.1 cause i went from bionix 1.3 to frost 2.2.1 and my phone was completely messed up. so any advice / suggestions or is it just the regular process?
Personally, I would Odin back to stock prior to flashing 2.2.1. Have you used Odin before?
ODIN is always a good way to go when in doubt. But you shouldn't have any problems going from Bionix to Frost i would think disable voodoo at the very worst.
What kinda issues are you running into? Is it just the other TitaniumBackup problem you posted in this thread?

Need help with Unroot please...

I rooted my evo using Revolutionary S-off. Not sure about this whole hboot thing so if someone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. I was running meanRom and everything was fine, but outta nowhere, the capacitive buttons started acting up. They only work sometimes now. Originally thought it was the rom so I switched to ICS rom and still experiencing this issue periodicily. I would like Sprint to take a look at it, but obviously I wont be covered under warranty if I bring them the device rooted. Any help is truly appreciated....TIA!

Install the free ver if system tuner. It has an uninstall feature. It should get rid of Su.
