As we all know, Stelios97 made a working port of ICS for the X10 mini. fifo171 has tested the same rom on his X8 and has confirmed that it works for the X8 as well. This thread is to further develop this rom so we X8 users can have ICS. On the 27th November 2011,troufiniou and has further developed this rom ! Thnx guys !
Notice :In this thread, we'll be focusing on troufiniou's releases. If you would like to try stelious97's rom, the link is provided below but i don't think i will be posting his releases as he is developing for the x10 mini and not the X8, whereas troufiniou is with us in the X8 department. Please do not ask for ETA's and I will not tolerate posts like "when will be ready 100%, when will be stable and etc". Also, if anyone disrespects the thread, not counting if they are disrespecting devs or normal users, you will be reported and hopefully banned ! You have been warned. Also, troufiniou and n1kolaa are working around the clock to get the ICS port working for us, so please show some respect and do not make demands be thankful we even have devs helping us !
Thanks goes to stelios97 for the x10 mini ics port and for helping with the x8 rom, nobodyAtall, alfsamsung and doixanh (also for helping with V007 II ) for their awesome kernels, fifo171 for testing on X8 (stelious97's rom), troufiniou who is currently developing this rom and to all the ICS testers as well as those who PM-ed me asking if they could help. Thanks guys !

Diclaimer : I can't be held responsible if this rom bricks, destroys or screws up your phone flash at your own risk ! ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING !!!!!! If you do have problems, PM me and I'll help
Video was done by jahlovePL thnx mate
Screenshots by 72andrew72 thnx bro !
Primary objectives : Fix network coverage, wifi, bluetooth, camera, basically everything and compatibility for cypress users (hang in there guys)
If you're not happy with this rom, simply full wipe, wipe cache, wipe data and restore your backup ! As for the kernel, you can use any kernel you prefer.
P.S.
1. I am not a developer. I am merely providing info and links based on troufiniou's progress. All credits go to the devs and the testers.
2. This rom only works with synaptics digitizer users. Cypress users will have to use stock kernel fix (read the requirements section - 1st post) along with v008 for now
3. Please read the 1st page before asking useless questions or making stupid complaints !!!
4. In V008, there were complaints of users unable to access their recovery modes ! Here's the fix by ThePCGuy Thnx mate ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20044282&postcount=1216
Please, if you can help us, PM us and inform us that you can help to lessen our burden. Do not be selfish. Put it this way, the more hands we have working on this project, the faster you can expect ICS on your X8's I'm already recieving a lot of PM's asking if they can help ! THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT !
Let's all have a blast with this !

Ok let's start all from the begining.
Thread as been moved from General to here, this will improve to have have less people with less then 10 posts to troll here.
OP can contact me when ready to open it again.
I am opening this thread to ask/discuss with some SE Live With Walkmann owner if there is the ability to record both side of a phone call. I have read throughout the forum that most of the app available on the market would probably do not work unless the phone is rooted and a custo kernel is installed. Now, i found here on xda 2 custom kernel (Rage Kernel v2.6 and X kernel 2.6.32.58 ZRAM) for this smartphone that enable "2way recording". So i was wondering if anyone tried to install these custom kernel and then try the app CallRecorder by skvalex.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will answer this thread .
Hello everybody,
I would like to know if it's worth to change my stock ROM with a custom ROM and there is at least 2 features which could make me take a decision:
- Real USB mass storage support (without any specific required driver install)
- Full calls recording support (2-Ways Call Record : not only the microphone record, which is already supported by default)
Do you know if there is any L9 P760 custom ROM which support those two features ? (or a way to get them on the official JB stock ROM)
Thank you for your answers.
For those who are interested (I answer to my own post ), the UMS feature is supported now :victory: :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240499
I hope there will be a way to support the other one : call recording. It seems it works on ICS with most applications with "Microphone" setting. But I tried everything I could on JB without any success.
For 2WCR kernel patch, it has never been done on Android kernel for TI-OMAP devices. However, according to a TI engineer answer, it would be possible :

Hi people,
I hope this can help those who ask some common questions in all threads or just don't read the OP or the OP hasn't Q&A, so let's start.
Q: How to enable the developer options on CM10.1/10.2?
A: Settings>About phone> click 7 times on Build number.
Q: Where can I find gapps?
A: Here.
Q: The call volume is too low, why?
A: This’s a known issue not only in Xperia phones but in the most 4.1.x & 4.2.x roms on other phones. Anyway, check your baseband. If you are not using the newest, update it here: How to Install JB, ICS or GB on Xperia™ Smartphones, as well as root them.
Or/And: Decreases the volume and increase it during a call.( this tip works for me, I'm using BB.77 but should work with other basebands too).
Q: My camera doesn’t work properly, 720p still has low quality, blablabla… why?
A: Because Sony doesn’t release JB camera libs for Sony Xperia 2011 phones, so you can wait till any developer make some kind of magic or sign this petition: "JB Camera libs for all Sony Xperia 2011 Phones".
Q: Why my Wi-Fi doesn't work?
A: Before reporting that it doesn't work, use the kernel (boot.img) inside the rom (.zip).
Q: How to enable the pie controls & navigation bar?
A: First you need a file explorer, then add this line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to /system/build.prop & reboot the phone to activate the on screen buttons (Navigation Bar). Then go to Settings>System>Power menu>Expanded desktop & activate it & then you will see pie control in the Settings>System menu.
Q: How to enable lockscreen rotation?
A: First you need a file explorer, then add this line lockscreen.rot_override=true to /system/build.prop & reboot the phone to take effect.
Q: How to disable buttons backlight? (This's only for JB 4.2.2 old releases)
A: First you need a file explorer, then go to /system/etc & edit the hw_config.sh file like that:
# LMU AS3676 Configuration
dev=/sys/devices/i2c-0/0-0040/leds
echo 500 > $dev/button-backlight/max_current
Change the value to:
# LMU AS3676 Configuration
dev=/sys/devices/i2c-0/0-0040/leds
echo 1 > $dev/button-backlight/max_current
After editing, save the file & restart your phone to take effect.
This new method is for Mike's CM10.1 rom (04/06/2013 & 17/06/2013 builds) or other roms based on his rom:
First download this file & then, using a file explorer, copy the file to /system/etc/init.d & set permission to rwxr-xr-x (0755), then restart your phone to take effect.
Thanks to AndyYan
Q: While flashing a rom I get "status 7" error, how to fix it?
A: This happens because you have probably wiped the system. See here how to fix it.
Q: My compass doesn't work correctly with Google Maps, Google Earth, etc. How to fix it?
A: Try this. First you need a file explorer, then go to /system/etc/sensors.conf. If by default is like that:
#Setup AKM897x axis
ak897xorientation_axis_map = 0,1,2
ak897xorientation_axis_sign = 1,1,-1
ak897xmagnetic_axis_map = 1,0,2
ak897xmagnetic_axis_sign = -1,1,1
Then change the values to:
#Setup AKM897x axis
ak897xorientation_axis_map = 0,1,2
ak897xorientation_axis_sign = 1,1,-1
ak897xmagnetic_axis_map = 0,1,2
ak897xmagnetic_axis_sign = -1,-1,1
Caution: Create a backup of your default sensors.conf file & after editing, restart your phone to take effect.
Thanks to mmhasanovee
Q: How can I help the development of any ROM?
A: Not with, "+1", "FC", "me too", "same bug here", blablabla. These comments are useless.
Q: So, how can I really help?
A: Simple. Remember doing this you're helping the developer & yourself, you're intelligent, so you understand what I'm saying, right!?!
Do that in the right ROM thread:
Phone model:
Baseband version:
ROM version:
Did you?
wipe:
restore with titanium backup:
reboot after having the issue:
Are you using?
a task killer:
the kernel (boot.img) in the zip or other:
Settings/Performance settings (other than default):
What steps will reproduce the problem?
But the most important thing is this: attach a LOGCAT of the problem.
Q: Ok nice, but I’m noob & I don’t know how to LOGCAT, where can I learn?
A: Here, here or stop being lazy & search in XDA forums.

At least at GMaps still working.
Hey mate
The status 7 error can be solved easily.
U can jst remove device checking lines from updater script of rom . And then flash it. Rom zip wil then flash without issues.

RAM issue
Hi there,

I am using this ROM for the last 2 days. No problems at all. Everything is working.
Kernerl from ROM.
Battery - acceptable.
But RAM is awful. In running apps its always jump from 0-50Mb free [email protected]#?
Check the attached screenshots? Why is that?
Thank you.

Hi cyberdejy,
Which rom are you using? I'm using Mike's LX rom & I get 140~170 free ram, I use greenify app too.
Lock screen customization not work well.
Can you give me a description of shell.apk, please?
Hi @mauam. A lot of people are asking about wifi not working on mike's LX ROMs, because they don't flash the kernel included in zip. Can you add this question to your FAQ? Something like Q: "Why is my wifi not working?" A: "Flash the kernel(boot.img) included in zip file"
Thanks

I don't own the xperia mini anymore, but try this radio app. Or use the default kernel instead lupus. Happy holidays
