Hello there,
I've got a really weird problem started since yesterday. I was using a MIUI gingerbread version on my HD2 n it was perfect. This morning I couldnt access the camera n it kept saying it wasnt responding so I figured the ROM's playing up again....Hence I did task29 and installed factory version. Now I can access everything fine and the camera with 5MP working fine as well but unable to see camcorder with 720p option. infact there isnt any 720p option at all. the most I can see is mp4 with 640x480 VGA...I've tried many WM6.5 ROM's now but no luck....please help
I thinl the 720p is a registry tweak, go to this thread and have a look at #56 and #62.
...
With the registry tweaks you can only increase the picture/video quality. But the HD2 has no 720p capabilities.

How to fix Camera problem when overclocked. [Green pixels]
I've installed this patch (attached) on my prophet (QTek S200) and the camera works fine when the system is overclocked. I even overclock to 286 Mhz without any problems.
thanks moza, i've been looking for this one for a long time!
i'm still keeping my eyes open for harphone speaker sound boost while calling =)
Here my patches. Sorry for the long answer

@Korand: I've tested this patch 'Default_ST_CameraDrvPatch.CAB' with QTek S200, at first it seems fine in overclocking, but I got very low performance in recording video (I use CoolCamera to capture Video).
I tested 'Signed_TMO_CameraDriverPatch.sa.CAB' and it works like a charm!
12 FPS on QTek S200 @ 286 Mhz (Over-clocked)
Test Parameters:
Size: 320x240
Aspect 4:3
Format: AVI (MJPG 420) [420 is faster than 422]
Quality: 75%
Screen: GraySmall (Without screen preview FPS is even higher!)

me too, waiting for working patch
Could someone help me make informative choice? It looks like cm 7.03 is the best as of now (2 weeks of forum reading ).
Please confirm some questions about cm 7.03 ?
Do both speakers work correct and support stereo as original build?
Does light sensor worked appropriately?
Does camera work?
Volume and soft home buttons fully supported?
G sensor fully supported?
Does anyone tried Skype videocall / voice call? Doest work?
Does YouTube works well?
I know about HD decoding issue but what it means for video playback? Does it play 1080p? Does it playback 720p? Max video file size? Does it play video files at all?
camera is pixelated

Everything you mention above is fine EXCEPT video/picture taking. You can take pictures with the "camera fun free", and video is okay with Oovoo and Yahoo (Skype doesn't support video, and probably never will now that M$ bought it).
They above "work", but are always rotated 90%. ALWAYS. I tried some fixes (sensor fix, etc), but nothing worked (or it broke something else). Since the girlfriend needs this tablet for her trip to Europe (so she can call home), I settled (after MANY roms) on Calkulin's G-Tab v1.1 and pershoot's latest kernel. I have usable video and picture taking abilities, and it's damn snappy. Sure it's no CM (I have it on my G1 and Nook Color and love it!), but for someone who needs things just to work, that's the best bet.
Using Oovoo, Yahoo, and Reelportal for video chatting...

That's really really weird, I have recorded a lots of lots of footage and I never ever experienced that even using a slowish sd-card as storage.
Is it the same if you are playing the files back on your computer?
Are you using stock player for playback?
If you download MediaInfo and right click a file on your computer does it say 30 fps for all of them which it should?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/
it stutters WHILE recording
and also stutters while playing it at the same place it stuttered in the recording area
all upload a vid soon
ok uploaded

i always have this issue
i hope it isnt a hardware issue
this issue happen in indoors with low condition but works great outdoor
aufocus problem i guess.........
Never had this problem, but i'm not recording in low light condition.
I'm getting this problem is really annoying, running lightening rom 1.5 and recording videos in perfect light and still stutters.
any ideas?
I'm having the same issue in low light conditions. No problem outdoors or indoors with lower resolutions.
I think djase is correct that it's a autofocus problem, because the stutter occurs during camera focusing / after the focusing.
I have contacted Samsung (Finland) about this and I'm waiting for an answer..
Hope this will be fixed with firmware update/patch..
(using non-rooted/stock phone)

Someone posted the camera apk from 1.4 as an update zip and it works great on 1.5. You'll have to search for it.
Anyone knows an alternative video recorder that allows HD (720p & 1080p) video recording?
Samsung (Finland) asked me to test the problem with another video recorder software, but I'm not able to find any which support HD recording.. Noob I am I guess
for solved indoor low condition issue i put expostion -2 and works

Ah, so it seems indeed! Hmm.. So the problem is in the contrast based autofocus I guess.
Thanks for the info! I'll forward this also to Samsung for analysis.. someday

Not from Samsung.. I'll try to bombard the Samsung Helpdesk with calls about this problem, but maybe we have better luck, if others with the same issue could also contact Samsung about this problem.

(I've attached the device general information)
same version as you !
it seems only SCEE** have this drop fps !
cheers
Anybody having compatibility issues with the Amaze camera and the Leedroid Tweaks installed at the same time? I mean, camera works fine just can't record videos, it crashes and force closes when I try to record video. However, stock camcorder works fine prior to flashing amaze camera. Keep in mind, no matter what ROM i'm on, be it a stock rom with Leedroid Tweaks flashed after, or one with the tweaks built in or even ZR3D rom with Tweaks built in as well, flashing the camera doesn't allow the camcorder to work AT ALL.. Anybody, please help, i'm at my wits end trying to figure this one out.
I just flashed TN Adrenline 2 days ago and got Leedroid Tweeks running and the Amaze camera and camcorder work fine..but they r built into the rom not flashing seperate..
Evo 3D ViperROM v.2.5 downgraded HBoot 1.5 to 1.4
I'm saying Leedroid Tweaks and a flashed file of the Amaze camera.. what rom is that? can u send me the link?

I too was having the same issue and came accross this thread while doing a google search. Since a solution wasnt given to you and I didnt feel like flashing a new ROM (Im on Viper), I searched the official Amaze Camera on EVO 3D thread on XDA and came accross this solution to the video camera not recording.
While looking at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302943
I noticed on the Known Issues section that a bit rate higher than 12mbps on MPEG Codec can't be used. I checked my settings on the video camera and noticed that Codec used was MPEG4 and bit rate was set at 16mbps (I didnt set those options, they were there when I flashed the camera zip). I changed the bitrate to 12mbps and I can record again. Also codec H264 can be used with any bitrate according to them.

I thought that I had done something wrong too, but after change to codec H264 everything works just fine
Maybe wrong version of Amaze .. Amaze port for EVO 3D comes with over resolution .. You can try other version with resolution of 1920 x 1080.
yeah, i used the lower resolution one and it worked like a charm.
All is good on Mean Rom 4.0.. Amaze comes baked in and I flashed Leedroid over

I'll keep this simple, guys:
I was running Vegan-Gingerbread and everything just kind of worked. Unfortunately 720p video, even running overclocked, was just a stuttering mess.
Because it was all software decoding on Gingerbread...I think.
So I went through all the hoops and installed (finally, after bricking the thing a few times) BEASTCLEMSONFROYOWHATEVER super ultra overclocked speedy rom...Froyo based. Tried a few 720p files. One said HW DECODING...but produced no picture OR sound. Switching to software displayed choppy video and sound, unwatchable, of a 720p file.
I tried a few more video players. Some wont use hardware at all, so the results are awful. only that one app (Mplayer? Vitalpoalyer?) used HW but then it produced no results at all.
So here it is:
Is there any player that run on either Vegan Tab 5.1 beta (Froyo bl 1.1) or this Beast/Clemson rom I am on now (Froyo bl 1.2) that will use HW decoding of 720p and play at full speed?
If the answer is no I'll go back to Gingerbread and handbrake my files to 1024 x something...and see if the gtab can software-decode that. If not, then I'll drop down to DVD rez...720x480, which we all know the gtab can do.....
Thank you very much

I would say if you don't mind the non-functional camera and mic then I would take the leap to the ICS roms that are in the Dev. forum. Both have great HD playback and both have HW decoding because they share the same kernel made by the Team DRH. I am currently running the AOSP G-Harmony Rom without any issues. Just have to turn off GPS apon initial bootup so that the sound stays on .
Does ICS actually run anything on the GTAB?? EG: Netflix and Winamp/Pandora and such....? I thought it was just a barely-functional OS on GTAB......I must be out of the loop...
