Are you just looking for a kernel? If that's the case and you're using 2.2.2 rom then you could use the one from LOL's rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945218.
Very decent kernel

can u explain what a kernel is in a few words. i read the thread by chance and just improve the performance of my phone. but i had no idea what steps are involved.

Well in easy words its software layer between ur hardware and ROM.

did u find any issues with the downloaded kernel? do u still have the sd card unmounting problem?

Sdunmount problem may be due to faulty sdcard.

Overclocking on default ROM

Hello,
So, I've rooted my Optimus One, and I want to Overclock but all I can seem to overclock to at the moment is 600MHz - I want to be able to overclock further but I want to keep the standard ROM, any guide on how to do this because I've searched but all I can see is that 3rd party ROM's enable this.
Cheers!
Andrew
There is a separate thread for an standalone Oct kernel. Look for it in o1 dev threads. But you will have to instal custom recovery also.

Just reflash the rom that has that kernel in it, it will write over the kernel you flashed.

Haha don't worry about it, I stayed posted in the Off-topic, that's why I have such a high post count.

kernel flash
Kernels can be flashed over your existing kernel. Its procedure is same as rom flashing but make sure your new kernel is compatible with your rom. But who cares, just flash it after wiping cache and dalvik. Its betters if you have fallback point,so you must nandroid backup your current rom/kernel combination. Clockworkmod recovery 3.1.0.0 is your best starting point if you don't like typing in terminal.
Yeah flash the rom once again. Dats it.

Can't save APN

Hello, i am new here so i can't post under development forum. I'll try here. I'm using Custom Rom Cianogenmod 7.1 Gingerbread 2.3.7. Everything works fine except i cannot save apn. When i press Save the APN doesn't appear where it should be. Could anyone please help me?
Did you flash gapps....which baseband your using
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
No.. can u instruct me further? I have installed other custom rom but that didn't fix it. Baseband is v07u-0000-000 apr 2009.
EDIT: I'm downloading them now from here ( can't post link ) but they are 2.3.7 version
Hope i will fix it. Thank you.
EDIT2: Installed them... but the same, can't save apn.
Your on old baseband, its best that you stay on old BB...ive personally never flashed new but ive heard with new you get longer battery life and better cell reception but flashing new baseband requires using lg's tool....you will find tools for such things under the dev section under stickies at the bottom of the list...as far as that apn problem have you tried using a 3rd party app from the market to perhaps save, backup, restore apn list? Ive never had a problem with apn using any mik_os roms but using andys phoneix rom sometimes requires that i manually enter the apn, im on tmobile btw....
As far as video lag/blackscreen bug use goldenleaf in combo with cm7 6.5.8 and maybe you wont have sucha huge problem with it
Also try wiping everything, redownloading cm7 than flash it and see if doing that has corrected your problems

Google search gapps cyanogenmod7 wiki, scan the page and you will find the version you need....also by going on cm7 6.5.8 dev page right after the download link for 6.6.1 you will see a link to minimal gapps

Hello,
Sorry if I am posting a thread that already exists as I searched but dint find anything. I have the Siyah kernel but how do i install 2nd rom on the phone. Do i have to clone the 1st rom to 2nd and then boot into 2nd and install? Could someone please direct to correct procedure installing 2 roms on my S3. Also If I wanted to convert the custom roms to ODIN flash-able using Windows is it possible through a software perhaps?
