[Q] Unresponsive @ Lock Screen - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So yesterday I rooted my phone with glad root, installed tenfar's cwm, and flashed to greyblur 2.1 on my atrix. It worked fine all night, but this morning when my alarm went off I went over, disarmed the alarm successfully then the screen went black. I powered the phone back on it isn't responding to my touch at the lock screen, (when I touch the bottom 4 buttons it still vibrates though) so I can't unlock or use my phone.
Do I have to SBF and start all over? Is this considered a "brick"? Is there any easy fix? Help is greatly appreciated!
ps my notification bar is still working I can see that i have messages, full battery, alarm set etc.etc.

(help) Vibrant suddenly blacked out

I have searched through the forum and but nothing worked to fix this weird incident.
I never rooted the phone and it just suddenly blacked out after I finished a phone call and let it sleep. I tried to reset the phone by using the volume button but still doing the same thing.
I do not use GPS so it has been disabled for entire its life.
Since I am in Canada I can't bring it to T-mobile store.
It only shows the status bar on the top and the buttons lit up but nothing work.
Thank you.
P.S. I only been used this for like 1 & half months. lol.
Have you tried pulling the battery?

Problem with open optimus ROM

OK, so I successfully installed the ROM. It works fine and all until I actually use openscript on the terminal. For example, I wanted to change CPU frequency. I changed it, quit the terminal, and checked the frequency in system information. It was successful. But After about a minute my screen suddenly locked and here is the current situation. The locking screen works fine (I had the pattern lock), I can even open emergency calls. But when I unlock it, the only thing I see is the notification bar (which works btw, clock, wifi , all the icons are there, I can slide it down and up and so on). Everything else is just black. The buttons work - I can quit the notification tab buy clicking back or home or something like that. But I dont see my home screen, menu, buttons - nothing. I can lock it again, and it works fine again in the lock screen but afterwards same black screen again. Reboot does not work.
So I reinstalled the rom. Immediately after installing changed the frequency and waited for a bit. Everything was fine. I installed all the crap I usually have and kept using the phone. But the next day, I got annoyed by the music player and decided to change it again via the openscript. Same thing happened. And this is where I am stuck right now (actually this is already the third time I have this problem in 3 days and it's my third reinstall of the rom, but the first one also happened after using openscript to change frequency.)
So is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the rom again, cause I've customized the **** out of it and I don't wanna do it again. If no, how can I prevent this in the future?
P.S. If this helps, when rebooting, I hear the sound before the android splash screen which is sometimes skipped and sometimes shown for an unusually short time.
P.P.S. Also, I have the apps2sd flashed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Got same problem
Hi,
Even I got same problem when I tried to change boot animation. Just blank screen.
But i realised it is due to, launcher app is not initiated. So tried a trick which worked indeed
Trick is when u are in a blank screen, click "HOME" button which will pop u up the list of launchers u have. Click One of them though they r not visible
Voilaa!!! Your screen is back

[Q] Notification bar wont pull down & buttons go weird

I have searched the forums and not found an answer so I am posting a question.
I flashed Aura ROM and been very happy for a very long time then suddenly the notification bar wont pull down.
The only thing I can think of is that I tried to use the Entertainment Dock and, although the phone went into entertainment mode, the TV remained blank, I unplugged and got on with my life.
I have since tried wipe (data/cache/dalvik), reflash Aura, wipe reflash Aura w/Bl, wipe reflash Home, flash update, flash theme, wipe...
After the above I went to restore a previous backup and got an MD5 Sums Mismatch. I repaired the backup and restored...still the problem persists.
Any ideas would be welcome. I am getting concerned that I have managed to ruin a fantastic phone.
I can confirm that there is no problem with the screen, that portion of the screen responds to swipes across and moves the desktop, just not the notification bar.
The really weird bit is that the buttons stop working, if I run my finger across from one side to the other then the screen responds (my home screen moves around).
If I go into landscape then the pull down works but the buttons are still shot and back to portrait doesn't help.
Standby and back seems to fix it (I do not have to power off).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jez
Quick update (problem persists)
I used multitouch tester to see what was happening when I dragged down the notification bar. When functioning correctly it see's one finger as one. When going wrong it sees the finger at the top of the screen as two / three / four separate presses. When I drag the one finger down the extra points stay at the top. I guess this is why the notification bar doesn't go down.

Hardware Fault
I have decided that this is a hardware fault and so I am desperately trying to hide the "unlocked" text and return the device
...or brick it in the process
wish me luck...

Just flash a GB SBF to remove the unlocked and you don't have to worry about bricks as long as you don't attempt to flash a froyo SBF. Don't worry if it doesn't boot after flashing the SBF. Just ssend it in. That's what I did.

I actually did the motorola update from their software update tool. It removed the "unlocked" text, put the T-Mobile startup animation back in and soft bricked it.
I have now sent it off for repair...three weeks
Thanks for the comment

Problem with notification bar in portrait mode.

Hey everyone,
I'm having trouble getting my notification bar to pull down anytime I'm in portrait mode. It actually started happening the day I was going to unlock the bootloader. If I press on on the notification bar, I can get to the clock screen, so I know the touch screen didn't go bad, but it will not pull down at all. It works in landscape mode though, so I haven't been able to troubleshoot it. Since this started happening, I've unlocked, rooted, and flashed at least 5 roms, and it still does the same thing.
I have never dropped my phone and I have the HTC extended battery and cover on it, with no screen protector or case.
If this sounds familiar to anybody, please let me know if there's anyway to make it work.
Thanks
Nick

[Q] Display shaking and dead

Hello people,
I flash the ROM "CM 10.1 (Android 4.2) for Atrix" with the new kernel today and at the beginning everything worked fine.
But after a few minutes setting up the phone, the screen started shaking a moment until the display turn off (turn off but the phone is still working as if the touch also responds and physical keys are lit). When locking and unlocking the phone, the screen returns to normal.
I realized that the longer I leave it off, the longer it takes to give this bug, after turn on the screen again.
The brightness is at maximum and the phone is not too hot.
At least the phone stopped rebooting but play or do anything else is impossible (I can only make calls) because of this bug.
Any idea why this is happening?
