[Q] Fonts - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

where can i get new fonts for my phone?

You can use any TTF font I believe. There is a thread on XDA (search for it) that has boatlaods of fonts. You can use Font Changer (market) to install them. I wouldn't flash them, just extract the .ttf from the zip and put it on your memory card and then use Font Changer to apply it. Don't let Font Changer restart the phone for you, it seems to hang on the TB.

[Q]How to install/flash custom fonts to ACE

As the title implies, how do i flash/install custom fonts into ACE??
just type in market 'fonts' and you'll see e.g. fontomizer app - basically you can install font as app (.apk). no need for root etc.
Just download any font from the already created onces, check this thread for fonts
Install the fonts and then go to settings---> display---> fonts and select the font u have installed and restart the phone.
your font will be there wen u restart.
I have tried many and most of them work pretty fine on ace.
The 'Font Changer (root)' app also works wonders. Store all your TTF fonts in a folder, and the app can set any of the font as a system font. Very useful.

Font download

i tried downloading sony sketch onto Virus airborne rom but everytime i do it stop right away and doesn't flash.
has anyone successfully flashed a font using TWRP?
I haven't managed to flash a font but I do use a workaround.
Create a folder on your sd card named "Fonts" and download .ttf files straight onto your device.
Use font changer located here, https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite, pick the font you want to use and reboot.
For some reason, not all .ttf fonts will be supported.
Better than nothing though.

All i did was use the fonts from my PC. copy n pasted them into the font changer folder, viola, Whatever font i wanted.... try that see if it works. Worked for me!!!
You can use those fonts from that thread with font changer from the market. Not sure why it didn't work for you. Just download the zip of the font, extract the .tff files, and place in the folder located on your sd card named .fontchanger, then open up font changer. It will scan them then select apply. Once it askes to reboot just hit the selection to manually reboot so it you won't have to battery pull. Then reboot and you will be good.

[How To] *Root Required* Flip Fonts On GS4

Ok since the flip fonts from the play store do not work properly... I looked around and found a way to get the flip fonts to work... I take no credit for any of the work shared in this thread... I'm just making it easy by putting some links in one spot... Must be rooted to give iFont permission to change the font... :highfive: Thank zsig in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252268&page=4 for his explination...

Ok, I managed to install custom fonts on my phone.
Here's how to:
1) Install the app iFont from the play store
2) Run the app (it should create a folder on your files) and then close it
3) Download font apk of your choice
4) Using a file manager place your custom font .apk file on the root of the iFont folder
5) Run iFont again, select the "Local" tab. Your font should be there. Select it and tap "Set".
The app may require you to reboot your phone. When you do, it's done.

Font Help - Installing Font Causes Bootloop

Yo!
This problem is from a phone using Android 4.1.2 JB--TouchWiz.
So I'm trying to install a new font to my phone--Roboto Condensed-Light to be exact.
I took another Flashable Font I had and renamed and replaced all the necessary fonts in the .zip file.
When I tried to flash the font, the phone went into bootloop.
Is there a certain way fonts must be in order for them to work/install correctly?
Or should I just put the fonts on the SD card and push them to the font folder one-by-one?
Thanks!

The easiest way to install font's to your device is to use a font install app such as Font Installer by JRummy. What you can do is put the font on your sdcard and then using the font installer app select the font you wish to install from your sdcard and the app will install the font for you. As always be sure to make a NANDROID backup in recovery before installing any font's or performing any MOD's just to be on the safe side.
