Help unable to root phone anymore.. - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok here is what happened.. had a stock x10 phone with 2.1 update. Checked unknown sources and USB debugging. Went ahead and downloaded z4 root and rooted phone fine, then installed busy box fine.. then installed xrecovery fine.. then used flashtools and updated baseband to 55, THEN went ahead and downloaded a custom rom. Booted into recovery and installed the rom but something happened halfway during rom install and phone turned off.. after that phone would be stuck at SE logo.. I ended up downloading sony erricsson updater and used that to restore my phone to factory settings.. after that phone worked again.. phew! booted up phone and went through setup process blah blah blah.. installed z4root.apk and tried to root it but no luck! it doesn't root! 55 baseband is still installed but the phone isnt rooted anymore and no busy box and no recovery.. what do I do? ive tried factory resetting the phone a few times during options but no luck.. phone wont root!

what firmware version do you have?

Download the latest flashtool from here http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G and install it in your pc...
Use it to root your phone and also install the latest xrecovery..

Infinite Rebooting on X10i (Beta 4)

So, I tried installing zdzihu's Beta 4 today through xrecovery after updating my phone to the latest baseband (.54) through SEUS. The ROM installs successfully, but I'm stuck in an infinite loop of reboots afterwards. If I go to the phone information in settings, it says the baseband is "unknown". There is no phone reception either. When I flash the default 2.1 firmware back onto the phone, it works fine.
Anyone have any suggestions for me? I've tried re-doing every step more than 3 times now, and 2 and a half hours later I'm nowhere
Thanks!
go to adb shell, su mode then tpye killall servicemanager
Use Xrecovery menu from boot-up.
You know...When Sony Ericcson appears when switched on, press the back button a few times?
Then do a Clear User Data (Factory FULL Reset)
THEN try to boot back up.
You have no baseband in About Phone because it was getting conflicts from your stock SE rom.
If it still doesn't work
Use Flash For X10 to put the Stock 435 with baseband .54 back on make sure that work ok, root it using the same Flash software, install busy box and Xrecovery then...
Re-Boot back into Xrecovery
Wipe User data
Install Custom zip etc etc to get Beta 4 running again.
Thanks for the tip! I tried a different stock image and it works fine now.
ALERT ALERT cpu works 100% always in stock roms this will burn

Dreaded SE Boot Loop - Bricked??

Context
I successfully flashed to BB.67 and Rdanar's Overider F/W and it was working like a dream
Then tried to install latest xRecovery
Now stuck in SE boot screen
Tried flashing other F/W's - still stuck
Tried SEUS - says I have latest F/W and only option is 'Exit'; no 'Repair' option at all - still stuck
Tried PC Companion 'repair' function; that failed too with this message 'there is no software available for your phone yet.' - still stuck
What do I do now???!!!! Help!!!
Fixed it. Made a custom flash using a generic stock ROM and latest flash tool and it's worked. Thank **** for that!!

Try FlashTool, flash a stock firmware and start over.
Don't try to install xRec version 1.0 again,
until the developer of the ROM you are using
gives specific instructions! Good luck!
Remember you do not install busybox/xRecovery after you have flashed a custom rom. It would really screw you over.

[Q] Can We Flash ROMs n Kernel With flash Tools.

My phone is stuck at SE logo.. Xrecovery is also not working.. SEUS also not working. Can rom be flashed vai flash tools . Actually i installed wrong kernel on my rom n the phone became unresponsive.. Please can anyone help. Cant get my phone working.
same here... please can some one help us in installing kernal or roms through flash tools?
if it's stuck at se logo then Seus should work...
flash stock firmware with flashtools and start all over.
Yes, you can
Hi.
I went through something similar, if not the same.
My rom got corrupted with the new kernel, I lost xrecovery and SEUS asks for the SD card to be mounted, which cannot be because ROM did not see it after kernel update.
before reading further, you need to have your phone rooted, you can do it via xrecovery, easily found in this forum.
what did I do to solve it?
***EDITED****
I installed a generic ROM via flashtool, you do not have to boot the phone to do it, the bad thing is that everything will be wiped from phone (not from SD though)
you can find generic X10 stock roms in this forum.
After that, you will be good to go.
hope this helps.

[Q] I want to upgrade my phone but i cant

i tried to install xRecovery but i couldn't for some reason on my phone even though i transferred all the files to system bin and gave all the permissions to all of them... my phone is rooted.
so now i am trying to flash it with the flashtool but i think that i need firmware but i dont know what firmware i need? also the flashtool recognize my phone but it doens't get root access...
please help me!
To avoid problems, restore your phone using Sony Ericsson Pc Companion to the latest firmware. Root your phone again. Install rootexplorer and allow there r/w permissions in /system. Then install xrecovery using xrecovery.apk(google it).
i could not find how to restore my phone using the pc companion. but i did restore it through the phone itself. i am on the latest firmware. after i restored it, it was still rooted... but i installed the xRecovery anyway and then i gave the permissions and it still doesn't work

[Q] Missing a step in flashing a custom rom on SE X10i

I own a SE Xperia X10i since it got released. Current versions of software in my phone are:
Model: X10i
Android: 2.3.3
Baseband: 2.1.71
Kernel: 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 / [email protected] #1
Build: 3.0.1.G.0.7.5
Files and programs I have and use:
- Flashtool 2.9.1
- ulBlDoom.zip (for unlocked bootloader, obtained via forumthread of ROM named above)
- x10_gb_DooMKernel-v06-FS_wifi.zip (for unlocked bootloader)
- Speed&Hotfix004.zip
I wanted to flash a the Wolfs TW Gingerbread V7b6 custom ROM, but I had troubles getting the WiFi module to work. Here is what I did:
00) Copied all relevant zipfiles on the sdcard of my phone
01) Used Flashtool 2.9.1 to downgrade kernel with aZuZu loader.sin (supplied with flashtool)
02) Root (using flashtool Root button)
03) Used Flashtool 2.9.1 to upgrade kernel with aZuZu loader.sin (supplied with flashtool)
04) Used flashtool to install xRec
05) Rebooted phone to update Superuser and Busybox to latest version available on market
06) Rebooted in xRec and made a backup of the current rom
07) xRec: Factory Reset (full wipe), wipe Cache, wipe Dalvik as said in Wolfs TW GB thread
08) xRec: Install custom zip (ulBlDoom.zip)
09) xRec: Install custom zip (x10_gb_DooMKernel-v06-FS_wifi.zip)
10) xRec: Install custom zip (Speed&Hotfix004.zip)
10) Reboot phone
At this point the phone reboots and starts loading the new custom ROM. It fully starts and I can see that it actually is the new ROM. All functions seem to work (didn't test much though), except WiFi. Whenever I try to enable wifi from the menu it says "fault", right after pushing the softbutton.
I read all kinds of threads here on the forum, but I am too inexperienced to figure out what is wrong. All the information I find overwhelmes me and confuses me more and more.
Anyone here who can tell me what I missed or did wrong?
First of all man, there is flashtool ver. 7 and u using 2.9? Now u just click root and this is the end.
U should do it again, it will help for sure.
So repair phone in pc companion, reboot, check usb debbuging in settings, turn on newest flashtool, plug in turned on phone to pc, click root (wait a while, phone restarts) do not unplug, click instal xrecovery and this is first part.
If battery is low charge to 100%, copy all files to sd card, reboot in xrecovery, install rom and reboot, i think its better to reboot any time u flash sometnig, not all together. So reboot do not do anything skip everything wait a 5 min and reboot in xrec again then install wifi fix and reboot, not so sure about this Speed&Hotfix004.zip i cant remember Ive installed them, but for now try just rom and wifi fix and let me know will it work for u

Flashtool version 8 even! Don't know how i got to 2.9. Perhaps found it somewhere in the Demonlord kernel thread. The full folder name is "FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec".
I am going to try what you said, do the rooting and unlocking part, and then install the ROM.
On the previous attempts the rooting etc. went fine though. Got exactly the same results as suggested by the various how-to's explaining the procedure.
