it might be rom prob just install any custom rom from the p500 thread and enjoy .there is nothing great in stock firmware if need help just read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038338
just root install custom recovery and off you go

Try charging the phone to 100% and removing and reconnecting the charger for few times. Then reflash the same ROM. This is why they say charge the battery to 100% before flashing a new KDZ ROM.

which rom do u suggest???

Man u are so funny. They say to charge 100% so that your phone doesn't drain while updating. Nothing to do with after update drain.
I suggest flash once again if u want to stay stock.

Can someone list out the major bugs in CM7 2.3.3 for P500?? Also, P500 is not officially supported by CM7, right?

I am using Nessy #Fenice and I think it is a very good rom.
As noted by the rom creator, it has very low battery drain and I can successfully OC at 806mhz without any instability. You may give it a try.

Thank you. Now I will clear my point. Flashing through KDZ erases battery stats saved on the phone. If the battery is not fully charged, the new starting level would be messed up. Btw, technically the phone can not drain the battery while updating bcoz its connected to usb port.

I'd say problem with rom, I would suggest not trying CM7 6.3 if youre looking for battery life... better use devoid franco, has some tweaks to make it last a bit longer.
I have used nessy too, it doesnt eat as much battery as CM7, but void was the best battery saver out of the 3

It means that when you flash a rom ideally the battery stats are also wiped and the phone needs to "relearn" battery usage stats, plus phones are notoriously bad at guessing battery percentage above 90%. If you just flashed a rom give it a week or so and it should get better.

In my experience.... sometimes. I know that's vague but I have personally seen my G2 act strangely after restoring a backup and conversely seen it go straight back to regular battery usage. Flashing roms and low level system partitions cause our devices to do some strange things, it is completely expected.

Xperia X10i turning off

Guys.
I have been surfing all the forum to get a solution to my problem, and I couldn't find it.
Let me explain:
My X10i was working perfectly until about one week ago, at that moment I had DonutHD ROM installed, working great. I don't know why or how, the phone start to turn off (without turning on again) when the battery was at 75% charge.
My first thought was Battery Calibration... didn't worked, I tried several methods, from apps to wiping the stats on Xrecovery.
After that I came here to search for a solution, I found some options, like reinstalling the SW, did it, with Stock SE... didn't worked. Then I tried again to do the battery calibration... didn't worked.
I just want to get your opinion in my case, I'm starting to think that the problem is on the battery, but I'm not sure, since the phone stills shows 75% charge and turns off, I tried to drain all battery turning on the phone after the first incident, then full charge, then calibration, with no success.
Any other ideas???
By the way, I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-943626.html... will this work??
Thanks for you help.

Thanks stephenhiscock98, was thinking the same, but wanted to check with the community here.
I also have this problem on DonutHD.
I've tried two different batteries thinking that the batteries were faulty. The only pattern I can see is that it appears to occur mostly when charging while watching youtube, or listening to an internet stream. Not sure if its an overheating problem.

Just in case try this might work but im not sure coz i dont know whats wrong with your X10
1) Wipe everything clean on your phone and also on MMC (I prefer formatting MMC)
2) Then copy the ROM and flash it and also make sure proper kernel and WiFi modules are used

Today I tried to calibrate the battery via Xrecovery erasing the battery stats when fully charged, the phone booted up, and only showed 2% on battery, fully charged again, unplugged the cable, and when the battery got to 75% of charge, again it turned off. :crying:
the three terminals in the battery (the middle one is thermistor). put a thin good-electrical-conductor-poor-heat-conductor material on top of the thermister (e.g. graphite). so, ur phone does not think that battery is heating up, so it does not need to shut down to prevent explosion.

That's why they say make sure you have atleast 60% of battery before you flash a kernel/ROM

With touch recovery, battery indicator is always present so any time you are there you will always know the amount puff battery you have left before proceeding to flashing.

i dont think its "Soft Brick" coz you have no battery left the phone will not even turn on (even in recovery)
I've heard a few cases where people hardbricked their phone because their phone disconnected from their PC while flashing via Odin. Personally, I've flashed once when my battery was only 3-5% (don't remember what exactly was left), but as said before, better safe than sorry.

It's safer to charge your phone while flashing rom. I have been flashing roms more than 10 times, I don't think the battery will "die".

Random shutdowns.

My x10 is about 2 1/2 years old now. I'm unlocked bootloader and running Wolf's ROM. In the past month the phone has started shutting off randomly...it gives me an 'Android System...shutting down' message...sits on the screen for 10 seconds or so and then turns off. Doesn't matter what battery % i have left. Often when recording video but yesterday it did it in the camera app and then once checking twitter. Sometimes it can go days without doing it...other days its just really annoying.
Any thoughts?

Try battery calibration, if you still face the issue maybe the problem is with the battery, i had similar issue, Battery calibration is a must once every month or two, this is not phone specific but LI ion battery specific.
Check on internet how to optimize battery.
I have faced the same issue. Tried battery calibration a couple of times. However, I have noticed that it did not help. Battery used to drop by a huge amount on reboot.
But the issue does not occur so frequently & regularly anymore. This will not effect the charge on the device though.

Hitesh Gupta

Possible fix for battery drain(30%-10%) rooted device
Hey guys i used to have the same issue before, calibrating didnt work at first, flashing custom roms didnt do the trick either so in the end i finally snapped n tried calibrating the battery the other way round. I calibrated my battery when it reached a sufficiently low charge(did mine at 7%). I used rom toolbox(device must be rooted) which can be found in the play store, ull find the option in rom management > wipe options
(DO NOT tick any other options other than wipe battery stats). Other battery calibration apps might work but it didnt for me. after wiping battery stats it will ask u to reboot. Reboot the device and let it charge to 100%. Then check if the drain is gone!
hope this helps you guys!
Use at own risk. I will not be held responsible.

If I reboot the device the battery percentage is decreasing in large number.. and if I restarted again it is increasing to some level (not upto actual level). I hope this is a bug in 4.2.1. I dont know about previous version because mine is 4.2 out of box
