Help with SetCPU.

I'm running the newest setCPU and I've come into a few problems.
The X10 has a processor speed of 384000kHz. When I got to set a profile, lets say the <50% battery profile, the max is set to 998400kHz, which is something like three times the speed of my processor. Wouldn't that blow the chip instantly if it overclocked that high?
I've try'd using recomended settings but it won't work, it's still the same. I can't set anything lower then the normal CPU speed since on the scale it goes from 384000 to 245000 and then stops.
What can I do?
Oh... that problem!....
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Actually the processor has a speed of 1 GHz so 384000 is minimum and 998400 is max.

Set CPU profiles

Can u guys share ur set CPU profile. I need profiles with great performance and less battery consumption. My profile is as followed :-
Charging AC/full 748 Max 480 min
Screen off 245 max 122 min
Performance n battery don't come together ..... I use ondemand 729/425 ... nothing different for screen off .... works really smooth n decent battery also
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
But I Also need to manage my batteries...
My setup's kinda similar to yours,
480/720 ~ on demand ~ when charging/full
Otherwise 240/320 when screen is off. BTW How long does yours last?
Hey !
That's for me :
Charging/full : 729 - 245 / ondemand
Screen off : 320 - 245 / conservative
Battery < 40 : 600 - 245 / ondemand
Battery < 20 : 480 - 245 / conservative
I don't have many profiles, just 1.
245min / 748max
Battery's life is kinda good, usually I have to recharge one time a day. It's not a problem for me.

I even used battery less than profile but it slows the phone too much....
Well It also depends on which ROM you have on your phone.
Mik_os CM7 port actually EATS the battery and It runs out of juice in less than 24 hours with a normal usage. A bit better with devoid v5, but I feel like openOptimus is the best one out of the three.
I use only one profile: battery < 101% @ 729/122 smartass
great advice so i must be changing my rom as soon as andy releases his new build!
729 max 480 min smartass
I use:
Main 729 max 320 min smartass
Charging 600 max 245 min ondemand
Battery < 40% 600 max 245 min conservative
Battery < 25% 480 max 122 min conservative
I used to keep a screen lock profile at 245 max but my phone lagged while receiving calls when the screen was locked and sometimes while playing music.
I use devoid.franco and
729/480 interactive
Screen off: 600/240 ondemand
What is that of smartass? My SetCpu havent got that mode :/
have someone got a guide or something that explain each mode (ondemand, interactive...)
Using stock ROM.
Normal: 729 max, 245 min, conservative
Charging: 768 max, 245 min, ondemand
Battery < 20%: 600 max, 122 min, conservatve
Battery life greatly depends on my usage. But, generally, I come home after classes (where I use it for internet, music, games etc.) with 30-40% battery left.

i wish if some one had a guide on it but optimus users like u and me are recommended to use ondemand (no i am not a noob).

Program for controlling CPU frequency on Android in order to increase productivity or increase battery life.
Of the features worth noting customizable profiles.
Description of modes:
* Interactive - an interactive mode, driving frequency of the CPU in real time, almost always at full productivity.
* Smartass - a regime based on Interactive. Has a more rapid decline in frequency in a simple, but also lowers the frequency to a minimum at a turned off screen.
* Conservative - operates at a very low incidence of possible CPU and increases incrementally, as needed.
* Userspace - allows you to change the frequency of the CPU, either manually or dynamically, at the discretion of the software.
* Powersave - reduces the frequency of the CPU to the lowest possible level.
* Ondemand - operates at a very low incidence of possible CPU and increases the maximum reaches values of CPU usage - 100%.
* Performance - sets the maximum frequency of the CPU, not allowed to change frequency downward.

How do you change that values with a condition (screen off, etc) ?

the latest version of setcpu 3.0 has a setup profiles features.
so you can set up a profile for any certain conditions.
for example, you create a profile for angry birds, and change the frequency of your cpu when angry birds runs to 1.5mhz max and 122mhz min and so on.
there are a lot of other profiles you can set, on charging, when battery are below 20/30/40/whatever % and much more.
lol i just advertised an app
Profile is for KIDS !!!
CPU :
Min : 134 MHz - Max : 1.6 GHz
Governor :
smartassV2
Smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth gaming!!!
CPU : min 134mhz max 1017, governor : smartassv2

Battery - 45 degrees - 652 max - 364 min
Battery - <=10% = 652 max - 364 min
Launch Apps>Street Fighter 4 - 1401 max 364 min
also undervolting cpu vdd to increase battery life
my main using is game so i better stick with 1gh, because not all game run smooth @ 576mhz or 806mhz
Hey guys, my friend just bought a second hand mini. And it is already rooted and with unlocked bootloader. It is using krsh kernel.
But his phones are acting weird and get overheated easily overtime. I told him to check using setcpu. And it is 1612mhz max 184mhz min set on boot.
he asks me what is the default frequency for his mini is it 1017mhz max and 249mhz min? I myself forgot lol

Have u rooted your phone if it still lags................
Then
1)download cpu tuner
2)open it go to cpu
3) near gov select boot settings
4) then in option force all cpu select on boot completed
I did on my phone and its very fast but heating issues are not solved yet....
NOTE {{{{{{{{forcing all cpus online results in lower battery back up}}}}}}}}

I have a fix but the fix is for keeping your phone performance whether the phone is hot! Nothing can't be done to solve heat issue if u want to have a good performance!
The system is design to reduce heat once the cpu temperature is 55 Degree centigrade! It will clock ur cpu frequency to 810mhz to cool down the phone, but produce lag during game play or scroll!
However we can manage to change the point where it clocked down cpu frequency to whatever you like!
I've change mine to 65 degree then it will clock down the cpu!
To do it is to go to system/etc look for thermald-semc.conf
Modify through root explorer:
Iook for this
[MSM_THERM]
sampling 10000
thresholds 49 52 55 58 70
thresholds_clr 45 50 53 56 68
actions lcd lcd cpu lcd shutdown
action_info 192 128 810000 64 0
I've changed mine to:
[MSM_THERM]

thresholds_clr 45 50 63 56 68
actions lcd lcd cpu lcd shutdown
action_info 192 128 810000 64 0
It will no longer laggy once it hot! Until ot reaches 65 degree! It may be dangerous!
But so far, nothing happen to me! And i can play temple run brave smoothly, while before it'll be laggy in 5mn of game play!
Don't forget to hit thank, if i deserve it!

Edit: It really works!! The device is still very hot after few minutes of use ,but not laggy.
Thanks a lot!
But it shouldn't be hot. Flash the latest firmware, if you already have, flash it again. Something maybe not right causing the issue

No! Only if you use ur device very hard and the temperature gain so high! It was design to clock down to 810mhz in 53 Celsius to decrease temperature! But we've change tov 63! So the device could get hotter than 53 and could go as high as 63 before clock down! To decrease temperature!

I think it will be fine since there's an automatically switch off at 68-70! So 65 is in the safe zone but i don't know abt any long term effect!

In ICS good but cant change in JB update
I am using Xperia SL.
As you told I changed the threshold values while I was using ICS. But after updating to Jelly Bean I cant edit the file thermald-semc.conf. I can edit the values but not able to save the file. So it always reset. I dont know why this is happening. Please help. And thanks for the suggestion as it worked nice for my ICS.

Is there any way to get rid of thermal throttling?

Hi,
The new games started to demand more cpu and games like Modern Combat 4 lags as hell when cpu is 800 mhz, when it is 1.2 ghz the game is smooth. I am experiencing this problem on a few more games.
I installed an app that shows cpu temp, when cpu reaches 65 celcius, it downclocks to 800 mhz, when it becames 60 celcius, it becomes 1.2 ghz again, and this problem makes major lags. The problem is the phone reached 65 celcius not more than 1 minute and impossible to play without lag. Undervolting is not a solution and my gpu is at stock speed and voltages.
Is there any solution to lock it to 1.2 ghz. Even I set the cpu to performance governor or set the min scaling speed to 1.2 ghz, it still downclocks to 800 mhz. I think increasing the throttling threshold to 80 celcius or sth should solve the situation.
Use an app like setcpu(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking) you need root but you can just set up a profile that if modern combat 4 is running then min CPU=1200 and max= 1200

Thank you, but the phone is stubborn about downclocking to 800 mhz. If the phone reaches 65 celcius, there is no way (that I found) to prevent downclocking to 800 mhz.
