On the Atrix, is there any way to modify the boot animation to sound off the classic "droid" sound?
I changed my boot animation, but would like to add that sound.
Possible?
I did a small amount of googling and found that the "DROID" sound is part of the system file mounting and unmounting (such as connecting a USB cord to your computer), I think.
I checked the file system/SD card settings but to no avail.
Anyone with ideas?

Since upgrading to 4.5.91 I have been changing boot animation files to flash with CWM on 2.3.4 with unlocked bootloaders. I have tried everything I can think of to make the audio last longer than it does, but for some reason it stops after the same amount of time no matter what audio file I use.
The audio files in 2.3.4 go into /system/media/audio/notifications.
Could it be possible there is a default max time set for audio which is in the notifications folder, being that notifications are not intended to run for a long time?
I have no idea where to look in the file system to access audio information.
Maybe a dev will have an answer to this.
Cheers.

I've got a problem to make my (custom) ringtone and notification sound stick - upon reboot both settings apparently get lost, rendering the setting pointing towards "unknown ringtone"
I put my soundfiles on the internal sd into the folders "ringtone" and "notification" (according to several postings in WWW), all of my custom tones are in OGG format and do get recognized by media chooser, thus allowing me to select them.
My current setup is in my signature. I had this issue on a different Kitkat ROM, too, but wasn't able to figure out what may be the cause...
Any idea what may go wrong here?

This happened to me using SlimKat, too.
An solution: put your files in system>media>audio>notification/ringtones folder. You'll have to do this again after flashing a weekly though.
Same problem
I have the very same problem after changing to KitKat CM11.
Anybody?
Still same here, copying the file to the aforementioned folder does work, but it's a PITA :-/
Hey guys,
I have a strange issue when adjusting my bootanimation.zip
the board im using is vim3l running android 9.0 and when i change my bootanimation.zip i get Process System Isn’t Responding error once android is booted and it makes my wallpaper black plus kicks me out of apps every 1minutes.
my boot logo is showing up while booting but the issue shows up once android is booted.
the only thing i adjusted was bootanimation.zip, is there any other file/folder that i need to adjust when modifying bootanimation.zip ?
* by restoring the original bootanimation.zip problem goes away and android works normally so is there another file that needs to be adjusted for the new bootanimation.zip’s file size or something related to it ?
Hi Atika-Plex
I'm currently encountering the same issue (on the same board). Have you find a solution ?
Personnaly, I tried several things (reducing the resolution, removing sequences, etc..) without succcess...
Please let me know if you find something.
Hello,
editing this file to make microphone louder leads to that the device is stuck at Lineageos Logo animation.
How to edit this file without running into this issue?
Thank you all for your input.
