I've tried downloading the Official Google Docs Android app from and it's apparently not available for the X8, but yet when I searched for the same app using the Market app on my X8 I was able to download it, and it seems to work (I've not really played around with it fully) so don't know how much actually works and what doesn't.
Why does the Android Market website say apps are not compatible with certain devices when they clearly are via the Market App?

Hi,
I used to use appbrain for downloading apps which are not available in the stock android market but ever since google update the android market it appears that I can't use appbrain even after uninstalling updates and clearing the cache. Simply speaking, I want to be able to see all apps that are available in the market whether it's for froyo, paid, region specific, or what not. So, does anyone have a solution to show all apps in the android market?
I did do a search on the internet and I got a hold of this: droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/5501-build-prop-edits-great-battery-life-fast-phone-full-market.html Has anyone with an xperia x10 mini tried this or something similar? Thanks.
Well i recently received my invitation to Google music, currently uploading my ja-massive(yes that's a word) collection to Google Music so that itself is going to take forever.
However my x10 Mini Pro can't install the app from the market (it just doesn't show) although I know I can just download and install the apk , it's not the only app I'm looking for which won't show on x10 MP market place, I am currently using GingerDX v007 ROM , upgraded from Slade's CM6 v5.0 ROM , now on that ROM I had my market app unlocked, I could install apps whether they FC'ed on device constantly or not including Google music, YouTube remote and many others. Only problem is i forgot how the hell I done it can anyone help? I remember getting it from somewhere and I'm pretty sure it wasn't one of those market switchers (switch it to American market place) because I attempted that and it still didn't show the Google music app. i think it's something i add to the build.prop but I'm probably wrong! help someone thanks in advance!
I'd rather have the official app downloaded off of the store for future updates rather than reinstalling apk's all the time.
Come on please help
Tried Market enabler?
send from my X10miniPro
well link to it doesn't work and i live in UK so i can access paid apps, i have tried that other app where you access markets from different countries that's no good to me though.
seems, that Google-Music doesn't install on qvga-Devices (but works on mini pro). Anyone can fake the resolution of our x10 minipro for the market?
hello live in GR and i have many ''hiden apps'' on the market so if you remember how you did that please tell us here cause market enabler or market unlocker didn't work...
Hey I have a question..maybe it's stubid but...is there any way to ''fake'' the market and make it think that it is(x10 mp) another device so we can see all the apps and isntall them even they fc??
search for the apk on other sites and install maybe?
So, when I go to desktop Google Play website, the search works well.
However on the phone the search on Play works like ****.
And there is no way to find Chrome browser! It just never displays whatever I write in search query.
What the f...?!

Chrome is for ics....
Yep... ICS needed for HW acceleration!
Only apps that are compatible with your phone are shown on your phones market but all apps are shown on their desktop market.

Well here's something bizarre.
On my Wildfire, and on Google Play it says that Flipboard isn't compatable with the device, yet when I logged onto the Amazon App Store (which as far as I know, only shows apps compatable with the device) it had Flipboard listed!
Obviously downloaded it, and it works perfectly fine on my Wildfire, which makes me wonder why it's supposedly not compatable when it in facts runs fine.
I've tried Instagram before, and I could see why that didn't work, therefore not compatable, but Flipboard works fine. So if you can go on the Amazon App store + get the APK, then do it, it's a pretty good app
Has anyone else found apps for the Wildfire that the Play Store says is not compatable with the device, but does in fact work/run fine?

there could be several reasons for the incompability message showing up: it could be region related, if you have a branded phone or a simlock it could be carrier related and last but not least Amazon doesn't have anything to do with Google. So if Google sets different standards for compability (i.e. resolution, performance etc.) Amazon might differ.
I've also tried Instagram - one of the very few popular services that exclude so called legacy devices almost completely
However free/ad supported apps could be tried out if working or not - so I sometimes hate it to be ruled out by Google (or the dev). Paid apps of course shouldn't let you try out because you could sue the dev for selling stuff that won't work on your device.
And yes I know at least one app which works fine on my Willy although the play store says "incompatible": https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flightradar24free
But: it only works if you drop realtime movement of the planes (and for good performance you should make the visible region not too big, satellite view works but with maps is smoother of course...) - so I'd guess if the dev would make this compatible for GPU-less devices he would earn thousands of complaints that the app doesn't work at all
And no, I won't post any links how to get the apk (forbidden by forum rules anyway, giyf in case)
I think the market is somewhat bugged a little too, week before last i couldn't download a few apps which i have previously used on my s2. I hadn't changed any dpi settings or anything like that so i just put it down to the fact i'm running miui. Updated my miui Rom on the Friday with no wipes and all of a sudden my apps work again.

having many problems with google play and updating or downloading new apps. for example..
dolphin browser beta . searching this on google play and it will say "device not compatible" ,so i have to dl the apk. now i have dolphin and it works but will not update as on my phone it does not list dolphin browser in the list of apps in google play. but when i check on my computer online at google play it says i have dolphin browser.
this happens with other apps. how do i fix this and why is my phone not working with google play the way it should?
thanks
I had a similar problem with my phone. I changed the dpi to 240 and voila. Try it may be it can work out.

Try try to use capital letters.
One problem with PlayStore is if the phone isn't 240dpi it might become incompatible. So you'll have to clear the PlayStore data and set it back to 240dpi.
Also developers can set their app to not be compatible with your phone. The way I get around it is to log into Play Store within a browser. When you download an app from the browser it will show you a list of all the Android devices that are associated with your gmail account, hopefully the app is compatible with one of that device. Then download it to that device, then back up that app to apk to send to your phone.
It's one of the annoying thing about Android right now.
thanks
thank you guys , that worked great and its something so simple. went to gmarket and i had so many apps to update , i had no idea
cheers
