Yes.
Email: while in email press menu, settings, scroll all the way down and you should see vibrate option.
Sms: should vibrate by default, if not press menu, settings and you should see the vibrate option there.
Go to settings, sound&display, and uncheck phone vibrate if its currently checked.

Wierd bug here. My phone is set to always vibrate and it does so for incoming calls however for sms I get the sound but no vibration. I've noticed there is no vibrate option in the messaging settings either :| Anyone got any ideas on fixing this?

Are you using the stock messaging app? What rom and phone are you using?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yes, stock messaging app on SGS2 (as the forum states). I'm on stock KE2 and rooted via chainfire's rooting method then reflashed stock kernel.
Have you turned on always vibrate from within the messaging app? Go to all threads in the app, press menu, then settings, scroll down to notification settings, then press the option that says "Vibration" and make sure the option for always vibrate is selected.

I would but the setting isn't even there which is what surprised me most!
EDIT: I found an app to let me enable that vibration and it works now but it should be there as an option by default!!! WTF SAMSUNG!

Anyone notice that the phone does not vibrate for notifications when in Silent mode with this ROM? Vibrate works when it rings, just not for text message notifications.

thanks this was pissing me off
Alright guys. This is bugging the hell out of me. I usually keep my phone on vibrate during the day, and my phone has stopped vibrating for notifications. Haptic feedback works fine, so it is not a hardware issue. When I have the ringer on, I get notifications, but when I have it on vibrate (Notification volume is set to same as ringer) I get nothing. Anyone have a fix?
Is it set to Vibrate under Sound Settings?

not just using the stock messaging app. But you could probably use a notification app to make it vibrate
But why dont you just put your phone on vibrate?

i dont want it to vibrate all the time i want them to vibe when my phone as a whole is in that mode
so is the only way to get this thing to vibrate during texts is to have it set that way all the time..ignore my original post cause vibrating in silent is not what i ment..i just want my texts to vibe when i put the rest of the phone on vibe and not have to have texts vibe on all the time

That's how it works. It will vibrate on vibrate, be silent on silent, and ring when it is in regular mode.
