Hard to end calls - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

I've been searching the web and I caouln't find a End call Camera button.
Does anybody have an application that uses camera button to end calls?

Camera never see, but in the phone there is an option to end the call with te power button.

Is there any way to end calls with back button, or any of the others three?

Useless. Back button loses "back" funcionality and acts like power button.

Right!
I edit the file shakira_keyboard.kl in /sysem/usr/keylayout and add the line
key 107 ENDCALL
Now I have to press the power-button zu end a call.

[Q] Possible to bind a hardware key to hang up?

I'm missing the 1.6 "feature" of the caller application hanging upp when I press the power button. Is it in any way possible to configure the phone to hang up when I press a hardware button? Preferably I'd like to bind it to the "back" button, since that's the one I'm least likely to accidentally press.

I would like to have the "power-off button to hang up" feature back!!!
Is there any way we can do this?

instead of changing the FOCUS button, use the key 116 that has POWER on it, change POWER to ENDCALL and change WAKE to WAKE_DROPPED, save it, restart phone and there you go
Press the "back" key. I think it will end the call in progress.

Any way to instantly end phone call via pressing Home button?

I found the way how to set it so you can answer the incoming call by pressing the home button instead of sweeping the screen - because it sometimes doesn't respond at all. But is there any way to end the call the same way - instantly by pressing the home button? Could't find it in any settings. Need to be setting in stock firmware, not moded at all.
Thank you
You can end the call by pressing the power button. Settings>Call>Answering/Ending>"The power key ends call"

Thanks for the tips. I don't know about this option before.

I know that, but I want to end the call by pressing the home key, not the power key.
Carlitos... can you tell me how you changed the sweeping option to answer the call ???? I assume that this will still have both options to answer the call right ?????
Thanks in advance...
Any answer please....

Thanks my friend...
Would also love to be able to switch the home and endcall keys while in conversation
I know there is an app that can remap keys, however, I only want those keys remapped while calling.
No one has taken up this challenge? Amazing. Seems like it's not enough of a challenge for the experts here. Otherwise this would be very useful instead of having to look for the power key every time to end calls

[Q] Home Button to turn on the phone.

Hi,
How to activate the "Home button" to turn on the phone?
With my Xperia Arc, I can turn on the phone with the "Home button".
With my Xperia S, it's impossible to turn on the phone with the "Home button"
I must use the power button on top, this is much less practical...
One idea ?
Very Thanks alot

There is NO way to activate it because it is not a physical home button. The home button will be functional when the O.S is loaded. On the other hand The Xperia Arc has a physical button to trigger the power on/off switch on the circuit board.
It's much better this way. Before I had problems with my X10 turning on in my pocket because of the home button being accidentally pushed.

Is most agree. I miss my home button wake up too.
Can it realy be true that it can't be software programmed to wake up on home button. Someone create a app that can do it. Or swipe all 3 buttons from left to right could be cool feature to wake it up. Why didn't do that.

I can't recommend wiget locker high enough for using the volume buttons or camera button for waking the phone - works perfectly.

Not necessarily true. The Nexus S home buttons were capacitive just like the Xperia but CM9 had an option to wake the device on with them.
It may well be just as possible on the Xperia, just needs someone to make it work like the CyanogenMod team did with the Nexus S
Wouldn't that be an additional drain on the battery to keep those buttons active during standby? Wake by volume keys would be far more useful, and do-able.

Power button - camera button - volume buttons... meh... it's still not the same as home button
It's more natural to press home button and then unlock the phone...

I like using volume button because I can wake the phone up by one hand. With my small hand now press the power button by one hand is not comfortable.
Double click on volume button would be good too.
Can you try using another launcher ro check if volume buttons are responding when screen is locked...

remapping hardware touch buttons

Ok, so I've read about how you don't get the ICS quick change/recently used apps button on the new SIii.
Questions 1 is there a way to remap the Menu button so that is does the quick change feature?
2 is there a way to then, the double tap home button feature to get GOOGLE Voice Search/Actions?
3 is there a way that I can add on screen ICS buttons like on the Galaxy Nexus? And then make the hardware home button do something else?
Do I need apps? Rooting?
Thanks!
You need to root. You can turn on software keys with the AOKP rom but you cannot disable the hard keys.

i would rather have the task manager open when you hold and press on the back button. the menu button when u hold give u the google search, but on the back button when u hold nothing happens. it would be only logical to apply the task manager to this button when pressed down and held for a a few seconds
Hey I have heard that NOVA launcher pro allows you to customize some of the these short cuts on the phone.

Aw yeah.
I do not have the phone yet, but I believe holding the home button will bring up the recent apps. This is how it's been for previous android versions before they made a dedicated button for the galnex
that's how it works for my Dinc, on gingerbread and ics

is there a way to stop the home button from waking the device also? (so only the power button wake the device up)
I wonder if you guys can enlighten me. My goal is to have the Home key under the screen function as the power button, and have the normal power button (on the right side of the phone) function as Home (without waking the device). I want this because I'm always unintentionally hitting the power button when I pick up the phone.
I was able to get the Home button to function as power by changing key 116 to 172 in sec_powerkey.kl. However, now the normal power button doesn't do anything. I tried swapping POWER with HOME in sec_keys.kl, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Any tips on how to give my power button a function now?

[APP] Button Remapper for ICS and JB

Hi guys! I just want to share this app, called Button Remapper. I saw this in a thread here in XDA a year ago and I can't seem to find the right thread so if anyone claims din message me.
Anyhows! I'll share this so you wouldnt tend to mess up your power button, not to press it every now and then, every time you lock and unlock your phone.
Well, it saves your power button. I use this app for that, replacing the function of the capacitive search button and make it act as a power button. It make me not to use the power button frequently and makes a perfect tandem for "wake up volume rockers" option found in any CM and AOKP. As long as you install the app, there are other buttons you can remap.
I've learned that stressing the power button my cause digitizer failure.
Syntax:
-Download attachment file
-Install as normal APK
-Enjoy
