Droid x vs eris.. any thought among my fellows .. fellows is a funny word. I know about the thunder bolt.. btw.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA Premium App
Well I've played around with Droid x a lot rooted a buddies for him and install liberty rom Im pretty sure Droid x isn't supported by cm7 so if you like cm7 your out of luck. I'd rather have Druid x over Eris for the memory speed and ram. But I'd rather stick with HTC. I don't jnie what I'm going to do with more then 50mbs of ram extra when I get a upgrade in November haha. But luckily we have get devs to keep the Eris running smooth and kepping up with the times with 2.3
Sent from my ERIS using Tapatalk
Yeah. Love Eris Dev ppl. I'm running liberty now. And no cm7. But would like this raw power and cram it in an Eris problally the perfect phone ty for the feed back its a little disconcerting going to a new forum. Even after the 1.5 years with an Eris.

I am in the market for a new android phone on the verizon network.... I was just wondering what the best phone available was or if there was a rumored phone that I should wait for? I currently have an eris with kaosfroyo v34. I have been looking at the incredible and the droid x. I just wanted your thoughts, thanks!
If you want one now, I'd go with the Droid X or the Droid 2. I don't see the point to HTC Sense and I don't like it much anyway. The X is pretty new and has a bigger touch screen than the Droid 2, which is its only competition for android on Verizon. However, the Droid 2 has a physical keyboard that is supposed to be better than the original Droid. So, If I were you I'd either get the Droid X or the Droid 2. Not the Droid Incredible. Hope that helps.

Id go with the incredible....someone in my house has it and all I can say is its incredible
Sent from my FroyoEris using Tapatalk
Well with the incredible if you don't like sense then you could just root and load a vanilla rom.

came from a fascinate compliments of Verizon
fascinate has a better looking screen and better camera.
what did u come from??

I came from the fascinate too. Switched over cuz of constant missed calls. I really liked the phone & the dev community but I pay too much per month for just a screen & camera that can't receive calls. So far the x2 has fulfilled all my major & many of my minor requirements for a smartphone AND people can reach me when they call me so it's all good. And I actually prefer blur over touchwiz.

They have recently released an update about same time as gb for x2 to fix that missed call/text issue and other bugs. My sister was talking about her misses yesterday when I remember hearing about the update. Told her how to check for em and presto no more missed call or text. She doesn't mod her phone at all and lived it except for that problem that is no more.

Yeah, it supposedly fixed it but according to the forum it still continues for most people so I'm glad I made the switch.

Have you seen the horrendous ghosting the droid x2 does? Such a pos screen. I kinda regret coming from the tbolt by choice at times. It has cm7 and a flashable unlocked bootloader.

Coming from samoled, everything else lacks in some areas. But this isn't as bad as it's made out to be. My brother-in-law has an evo & this blows it out of the water. If you want screen, buy screen; if you want phone, buy this.

Went from a Samsung Omnia to the X2. Loving every minute of it. I lurked in the Modaco Omnia forums forever.
I came from a fascinate and love it before that the og DROID and before that the omnia, moto q, and bb pearl. Hoping the development community for the x2 grows I want cm7

Came from a Fascinate. Absolutely loved all of the Roms ans everything for that phone. This Droid X2 is pretty awesome. I like it a lot more than the Fascinate. It's much much faster in my opinion. AND we have gingerbread. It took forever for us to get Froyo on our fascinates. Still miss the SuperAMOLED screen, but this one is just fine. The battery lasts a lot longer on this phone, plus I actually get service where I never could on the fascinate. So its definitely a step up, in my opinion.

this phone would be killer if it had the fascinate screen and better camera and video ..my only complaint, rather suggestions

Came from LG Ally. Had a Droid X for a week then traded it in for an X2. Screen is awesome! Battery too! haters be hatin lol. But I understand why people dont like the screen, just not an issue for me. I dont know what all this talk of "ghosting" is about tho. What is ghosting anyway?
Came from a Palm Pre, Only thing i miss is that portrait keyboard and WebOS multitasking....oh and overclocking. Got the Droid X2 after i took a river dip with it in my pocket.

I have a Droid x and a Droid 2 from before me and my girl went to tbolt. I have an extra line on my VZW account. Which one would you guys restore to service to play with? I wanna root and play...
Sent from my Thunderbolt running Uber Bamf Preview 3!
You could just root and play using WiFi. I would say the X tho but I've never been big on keyboard slider phones.
Sent from my HTC Thunderbolt
neither is overly useful since they're still locked down even rooted.
Well the only reason I kinda leaned toward the 2 is because the x was rooted sloppily. It was my first android phone and it was like my learning platform. Lol. I never flashed any roms or anything.

This thread seems oddly out of place.
Yeah I suppose it is. I have just come to respect the opinion of y'all xda tbolters so... mods can close if they don't like it right?

Anyone know how many Arias were sold and any estimates for how many may still be in use? Just wandering about what the market is for continuing the rom upgrade work for this phone.

I still use it as my main phone. I flashed munjenis cm9 ROM which is working great for me. I just bought it two months before the Desire C came out, so I want to keep using it for at least one year. Maybe then something better comes up, who knows?

I got it in the beginning of the year, so just like dansou901 I wanna keep it for a while. I love this phone and I hope it gets support for a little longer.
This is an awesome phone for my first Android!
You're right, it's awesome, but it is only Arm v6, so it won't be compatible to newer software...

I just like the small size and it's elegant design. I am also impressed with how the rom developers have been able to keep it current with ICS and now JB. And particularly how other developers have overcome the memory limitations with programs like S2E. Just what is the appeal of a 5" screen?
Sent from my Aria using xda app-developers app
I still have 2 Aria's, one with CM7 and the other with CM9. I love what I think is the prefect size of these phones. It's too bad HTC hasn't built another similar sized phone with more memory and processor power.
Hello!
I am wanting to know what u think of this phone, also my incredible is getting a little slow and this one is said to have more ram and better CPU. Does its GPS work good I am finding my inc is not working right there, also will this be getting cm10.1 like my inc has? Thank you so much for the help, the myn reason I like it is it only costs under 80 $ on eBay or glyde.com lol

the only difference is the CPU stepping, a smidge bigger battery (which will last the same time for the bigger screen), a bigger screen.
Although the CPU is a S2 there really is no difference in the two. GPS does go out on some Thunderbolt's. CM10.1 is JB; I and a couple
more devs are working on it right now, though CM9 isn't even fully working. which is ICS. If you have S-OFF AND full root then you will
have great fun with it. The Thunderbolt won't disappoint... I have played with both and they are just as fast... I say go for it!
oh with dual 3G radios you cannot go wrong :b
Also what do u think about the rezound I can get one of those for under 130$ is it better ?

I say dont get the tb. Its old outdated and runs hot enough to keep your pocket warm on a cold day. If u look around a bit more a 100 bucks will take you a bit farther then the tb. Being as it was the first real 4g phone it has quite a few issues. Data stalls being a major flaw in the device. I had 4 in my house hold. And htc chased me right over to samsung. Its was good in its day but so was commodore 64 but u wont see anyone using one

Yeah moto and there damned bootloaders. I liked my rezound alot. But had to get the extended batt to survive a normal day. Other then that its a great device. I really miss beats. Oh and also runs a bit warm underload. But not as bad as the tb.

Thanks I will get ether the bolt or the rezound but most likely the rez. Just have to find one I can buy for under 140$ I would like under 100$ but that is not happening unless I get a cracked screen one lol I have been looking on eBay and that is where o have found them the cheapest, any one know of where to get a good deal or have one for sell?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
even over-clocked and using it for constant radio (BT) streaming it never got warm on me.
I was running ICS Bliss on it... which isn't released yet but hey....
I had the bolt and it never ran hot unless I was charging it and running tethering at the same time. if the phone was running hot all the time you either had the governor set to performance or you had a bad battery. I have the rezound now and loads better over the bolt. so get that over the bolt you won't be sorry. the only thing the bolt had over the rezoind was it was so easy to unlock and get s off. even with the latest boot loader update the bolt got its still easier. with the resound to get s off you have to do the wire trick.
you can look on swappa for phones as many people buys them on there.

I had a thunderbolt before getting a S3 and there are times I miss the bolt. I had great luck with each ROM (SOAB, Thunder Shed, and Santod's ICS Eternity. Heck, I would have loved trying his new Bliss ROM. If you decide you want a bolt and I can figure out how to clear mine I can sell you it with an OEM and Rezound battery, a couple of cases (including a PowerSkin case) for $100. I have been hanging on to it in case a developer needed it, so no worries if you would prefer the Rezound.

From what I heard the latest RAZR seems to be great. No one one knows how long a device will be supported by the dev community. Just remember moto phones has encrypted bootloader so you can't achieve full root.
