[BOOT ANIMATION] tutorial for bone stock 2.2 - Vibrant Themes and Apps

I tried this on a Samsung Kies update on my Vibrant and it works for me. First you have to be rooted and have CWM... You will need to flash Overstock on your fresh stock rooted Vibrant, this is the only Kernel that works for me.. mileage may vary..
Use root explorer to backup the files bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg to someplace safe... these are found in /system/media/ then delete them. copy over your downloaded bootanimation.zip file to /system/media/ directory and reboot and poof your custom animation will play..
if this has been posted before I'm sorry... I am in no way responsable if you Jack up your phone!!! just be able to Odin and backup your current Rom..
thanks go out to CMENARD for an awesome kernel that supports boot animation!!!
basically any kernel that supports bootanimation.zip will work but havn't tested any others... i'm using the portal boot animation right now and it's awesome...
if you like.... hit the thanks button!!!!
let me stress this is a bone stock factory kies update with overstock flashed!!!

[Q] HELP with SuperROM on I9100G

Dear friends !!!
I have a
Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G
Baseband version: I9100GXXKL4
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
[email protected] #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXLB1
so I created a folder on /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
Then pasted SuperROM_v3.0 folder into backup, so far so good.....
Now CWM factory reset, wipe cache, all good till now.
Now when I want to select the clockworckmod folder, It kinda flashes up but it want go inside, at the butom it says No files found
So I thought ok Lets try SuperROM v 1.0 first, but by downloading its 2 parts (001 and 002) and the zip file lokks kinda broken, can see the files but not able to extract the from the rar (zip)
As last night I updated my girlfriends to the android 4.0.3 on her I9100, I love to get the look of it with the superRom V3.1 hopefully.....
So to all you I9100G MASTERS please help !!!!!
hey DonSkazi
did you copy superom 3.0 in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ from cwm directly because it wont detect unless you reboot the recovery or did you make a folder sdcard then in it clockworkmod then backup and then you copied the superrom v3.0.
Hey darkshadow1997 !!!!
Thank for your fast reply !!!! Yeaaaah what I did was actualy unzipt it on to my desktop, then moved it via USB Cable to download, and then with Root Manager I moved it over to the string: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup (clockworkmod and bakup i had to creat by myself.
Could you please write me down the exact steps. so I can give it a try....
Hope we can get it 2 work !!!!!
Talk 2 U later!!!
Thanks so far!!!
sorry for a late replay but you dont need root manager for this. All you have to do is make a folder clockworkmod in your internal sd then in it backup then you copy superrom v3.see attachment on how it should look like. last thing you just need your computer no android app for this and the clockworkmod should be copied to internal sd not external sd(micro sd). not sure if it the same in all i9100g phones but the internal sd should be 11gb or 10.9gb.Good luck. And if you need help in porting themes then send me a message i can help you out.and if you did not understand anything tell me on which part then i will try and explain once i get back from school today but right now i need some sleep for school.

i dont think u need to unzip the files. just leave it as zipped in your folder and use cwm to flash it
Hey darkshadow1997 !!!!
I send you a private MSG, maybe we can have a chat later on dear friend
Regards 2 you !!!!!!
Hey my friends !!!!
Happy Face Modus on........xxxxxxxxxxxD
Finaly I got the SuperROM v3.0 and the v.3.1 on my I9100G
The I found a ICE THeme in blue on
But after Updating it my 14 toggle mod was gone away Is there a way to use that ICE theme withe the SuperROM v3.1 ?!
As well at start up I have the Samsung Galaxy S 2 GT-I9100G screen + the yellow triangle, I would love to get rid of both, so how can I put a custom one at start up??!!
Plus, I put a bootanimation.zip (containing part0, part1 and desc.txt) in Superatmos, but still by rebooting device the samsung bootanimation is showing up.....very SAD !!!!
I know that there is a file in system/media that is in charge of the samsung boot animation........
I am sorry, its many questions, but I realy would like my I9100G be pimped as hell.......lol.....xxxxxxxxxxxxxxD
hey DonSkazi
you have very easy problems to fix
Yellow Triangle:heres a short way to remove it
1.get ktool from google play (its free)
2.get any stock kernel,here is one of kl3 link:http://www.mediafire.com/?ss1n1u1zzdlht5c
3.open ktool and select dump current kernel then select reboot to download mode
4.with odin select the stock kernel and flash
5.the yellow triangle is gone so is cwm
6.to get cwm back, open ktool and select flash kernel from /sdcard/zImage and reboot
7.And you are done with no more yellow triangle and will have cwm back.
Bootanimation:if the copy bootanimation to superatmos folder didnt work it could be kernel issue since superrom 3.0 have its own built in kernel so just copy bootanimation.zip in system/media and reboot.
ICS Theme:well as for this one i am not sure if my answer will be correct since i am using my own ported theme but what version did you download was 3.0 or 3.1
because if you flashed ics theme 3.0 on superom 3.1 then you will lose 14 toggle. if you did a backup in cwm then you can restore the backup and flash the correct theme.but if you did no backup then you have to start from the beginning.there is a reason if you flash a theme upon a theme then there will be some parts left of an old theme.when it says ics theme 3.1 it means the theme is based on superrom 3.1 and will only work for superrom 3.1 so check the version before downloading and flashing.
Hello Hello
Ok i tryed to install the v3.1 again, but that ICS Theme is still on, I did wipe data/factory restet and wipe cach partion, but no way to get the 14 toggle back.... I think I will get CRAZY!!!!!!
hey DonSkazi
sorry for an extremely late replay,i was on diner with my family and friends. when i said to start over i mean flash back to stock.heres what you have to do
1.get any stock rom for i9100g.if you get the wrong firmware you will hardbrick your device.so make sure that its for i9100G
2.now go to cwm then go to mounts and storage now format data, cache and last system.this is to remove traces of custom rom.
3.open odin and select pda then browse for your firmware
4.select start and wait till its done.
you will have a un-rooted stock rom.so just flash a custom kernel you will get the yellow triangle at boot you can remove by following my last post.since you already know how to restore superromv3.0 there's no need to explain that.now remember two
1.if you were to modify the custom rom lets say theme it in this case always make a backup in cause if you mess up
2.you can get any stock rom it wont affect the performance in anyway i was using a old stock firmware when i restored superromv3.0 i was on dzkj2.

[Q] Changing Boot Animation

Whe I change the boot animation in the rom's .zip do I then reflash the rom?
And if so do I do a wipe or just reflash without any wipe.
Thanks
you can just make a zip with the bootanimation and then flash that only.. no need to reflash the rom
Any time I have tried to just flash the zip with the boot animation it didn't take and the animation for the rom I am running (CleanRom) is still present.

Did you make sure that the bootanimation.zip in located in the in the same directory in the flashable zip as it is in the rom. For example, alot of roms the boot animation is located in system/media, therefore it would need to be in the same directory in the flashable zip. you can also just use a file manager like root explorer or es file explorer and just swap out the animations.
It seems like swapping them out is a tad easier

[Q] want original boot logo

Hi Guyz....Recently I flashed A Kernal By Mb-14 on my Galaxy Ace Plus.....It Changed my Boot Logo.....i Want my Original Bootlogo back.....plzzz Help Me Soon...
I believe a lot of Samsung devices store the bootlogo in paramfs, but I don't own your device so I can't say for sure which partition its in. You'd be best to ask in your device forum

Hi, you can change it back to the original boot animation by following the instructions given. But 1st, you have to make sure your phone is rooted and you should download an application called Root Explorer from the play store and download the Boot Animation by clicking here.
1.Connect your phone to your computer via USB.
2.Copy the "Sammsung Generic Boot Animation.zip" file that you want to install, to your SD card.
3.Please be sure it's rename to "bootanimation.zip"
4.Unmount USB storage and launch the root explorer on your phone.
5.Browse to /system/media using a file manager using Root Explorer
6.Browse to the location on the SD card where you copied the new "bootanimation.zip" and copy paste it to /system/media.
7.You should now have the new boot animation successfully installed on your device. Simply restart it and you should see it running upon boot!
Tell me if it worked And have a nice day!!
it didn't worked brother.....n i dont mean boot animation i mean boot splash image before the boot animation....

[TIP] Uninstalling CWM on Xperia U (May work on other devices)

On your Xperia U you have to delete those files with a root file explorer:
/system/bin/recovery.tar
/system/bin/chargemon
/system/bin/charger
/system/xbin/sh
This is not the most awesome tip on xda, but it may be useful for newbies =)
Want to know how I found that out?
I searched this on google and everybody said that uninstalling clockworkmod is impossible.. THEY WERE WRONG!
On Xperia X8 I had to install XRecovery manually by rooting and CnP-ing files with a root file explorer..
Xperia U CWM installers do the same thing automatically via ADB..
So I thought this: If CnP-ing files installs CWM, then theoretically deleting those files should uninstall CWM..
Then I made a nandroid with CWM (ironically xD), booted to android and deleted those files with Solid Explorer..
Final test: Turned it off, turned it on, pressed volume- continuously and CWM didn't show up, but android booted up with no problems! =D

Don't delete them! Replace them with stock files (On ics you can do that...on jb and other custom roms there is no reason for unistalling it and you can't!) These files are there for a reason!

When you install cwm from atis it will replace some modules (chargemon) which are needed! Try to charge your phone offline when you have it deleted...I doubt it will work

What does atis stand for?
Tried to charge while turned off.. Phone booted to Android automatically and charged.. I'll upload original files for xperia u GB and ICS stock roms as soon as I can!
Thanks for pointing that out.. I didn't realize about that

atis is the user that ported cm9 on locked bootloaders and cwm on lockd bls. Just upload them from ics. Our devices don't have a dedicated recovery partition and that's why those files where used to "pack" cwm!
Sorry for being late.. This is what you have to do to remove recovery ON STOCK ICS
File needed is extracted from 6.1.1.B.1.100, but it may work for other stock ICS compilation
Delete:
/system/bin/recovery.tar
/system/bin/charger
/system/xbin/sh
Download attached file and unzip it. Go into a root file browser (or adb) and replace
/system/bin/chargemon
with the downloaded one!
Procedure FOR STOCK GB is the same as ICS, but using the file attached in THIS post..
File was extracted from stock GB 6.0.B.3.184.. It may work for other GB compilations..
