[Q] want original boot logo - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guyz....Recently I flashed A Kernal By Mb-14 on my Galaxy Ace Plus.....It Changed my Boot Logo.....i Want my Original Bootlogo back.....plzzz Help Me Soon...

I believe a lot of Samsung devices store the bootlogo in paramfs, but I don't own your device so I can't say for sure which partition its in. You'd be best to ask in your device forum

Hi, you can change it back to the original boot animation by following the instructions given. But 1st, you have to make sure your phone is rooted and you should download an application called Root Explorer from the play store and download the Boot Animation by clicking here.
1.Connect your phone to your computer via USB.
2.Copy the "Sammsung Generic Boot Animation.zip" file that you want to install, to your SD card.
3.Please be sure it's rename to "bootanimation.zip"
4.Unmount USB storage and launch the root explorer on your phone.
5.Browse to /system/media using a file manager using Root Explorer
6.Browse to the location on the SD card where you copied the new "bootanimation.zip" and copy paste it to /system/media.
7.You should now have the new boot animation successfully installed on your device. Simply restart it and you should see it running upon boot!
Tell me if it worked And have a nice day!!

it didn't worked brother.....n i dont mean boot animation i mean boot splash image before the boot animation....

You will have to push the new boot animation to the phone via ADB. Search the forums if you need help getting/using ADB.
The location of the default boot animation for CM6 is /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Thanks for your reply. I'm going to try and PM you a link to a screenshot of the files that show when I hook my phone to my computer. I don't have the /system/media files. Thanks again ~Q

You would have to do this with the phone in recovery, and through ADB.
The reason you're not seeing the directory is because your phone is on, and you have it set to transfer files through USB; so it is pulling the directories/etc from your sdcard and not from the phones rom.

How to enable custom boot animation and custom startup sound in stock rom(screenshort

i am not responsible if ur phone is bricked
first phone must be rooted ..and have root xplore installed....
download my zip attached containing required files...
1.copy samsungani to system/bin..permissions to set is in screenshots below
2.copy bootanimation to system/bin..permissions in screenshorts below
3.copy bootanimation.zip to system/media..permissions in screenshorts below
4.copy poweron.ogg to system/etc ...permissions in screenshorts below
after setting appropriate permissions then restart....u would come up with new boot animation....
It would be better if you could make a cwm flashable zip for the benefit of newbies bro.

I tried it on Hybrid ROM, although i read your instructions that it's only working on stock ROM, i couldn't help but to try it but now, all i'm seeing is the S logo, it gave me a bootloop.. Damn! Will just restore my nandroid backup.. lol

[Q] bootanimation file

as per the instruction to change the bootanimation I went to system/media on root browser but there is no bootanimation.zip instead there are qmg files like bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg, chargingwarning.qmg and so on. Hope some dev can help me.
Read the boot animation thread again .
Instructions tell you to put a bootanimation zip in the location its not the standard qmg boot files .
i have gone through the instructions on that forum... they asked to rename(backup) the existing bootanimation.zip file and paste the new one, set permission and reboot. But there is no bootanimation.zip file only.

Repeat correct the stock boot animation is not zip format but QMG .
You cannot backup a file that you never put their yourself in the first place .eg Bootanimation.zip does not exist on stock .
i put a zip file and tried but it dint change...so is there no way to change the bootanimation in stock samsng rom? i even tried rom toolbox....if there is any such thread for stock samsung plese guide me to it if you know.

Dont know about that i have a old boot animation working just fine on numerous 4.3 roms .
Enable custom boot animation zip when a boot animation zip does not work out of the box or i have not changed it in the rom base .
Would your own basic NA5 rom have that included binary ??

My NA5 doesn't have that, I self-compiled it from CM sources and put in ArchiDroid 1.X. For me, this zip didn't work (caused black screen only) on stock ROM, however it worked on some custom kernels.
I am so glad the GREAT archidroid rom dev replied....so will this work in stock samsung 4.3?? i am using galaxy s3.

phone freezing during boot with new animation

I've tried to change the boot animation on my android phone running sc7731g chipset, android 5.1 and it is rooted and usb debugging is not enabled before this accident.I can't open or access the android recovery menu,it's just spreadrum factory test and it's in chinese language
I copy and pasted the boot animation file using ES file explorer to system>media folder and there's already an bootanimation.zip there and i renamed it to bootanimation.zip.bak, then i pasted the bootanimation.zip file that i copied there and changed its permissions to:
read write execute
owner check check check
group check
other check
then i rebooted it.., after that i doesn't boot completely anymore it just freezes during boot
Is there any way i can fix this without flashing anything?
even adb and fastboot doesn't work it just says device unauthorized
and please confirm dialog box on your device
i really need help.,I've been researching for a week now...

Plz help me!

If it is jrummy boot animations the backup file will be in sdcard/romtoolbox/bootanimations/. Boot into twrp and select mount. Make sure system is checked. Then go back to home and select advanced. Then file manager. Navigate to your backup boot animation and copy it to /system/media/. Then navigate to /system/media/ and select your file. Rename to bootanimation.zip. (if it is named something else) Then chmod. Type in 0644 and swipe. Then reboot and it should boot.

I can't figure out where it puts it by default but ot has the option to choose where to backup. That doesn't help us much, though but I have a couple of ideas.
1. Chmod 0644 the current animation installed in system/media. (Usually the permissions are the problem.)
If that doesn't work...
2. Delete bootanimation.zip from /system/media completely. This should let it boot and it will display the default built-in bootani. Which is just android with like a shine.
If that doesn't work...
3. I can give you a bootanimation that you can put in system/media to get it to boot.

also send me the boot animation i can try that
I understand. A lot of the time, it is an error in the desc.txt file inside the bootanimation. There is a way to code it to where it will repeat a certain part of the animation until the device boots, but on a lot of devices...including my tablet it will just hang and never boot.
We need to either delete bootanimation completely or try a different one. The only other possibility is dm-verity, but if your bootloader is unlocked that shouldn't be the problem.

delete completely bootanimation.zip is equal to move that file to another folder on the micro sd?

Yes, as long as it isn't there in /system/media it will bypass it. If it is the desc.txt that is the problem the device should boot.

Should be. The main thing was making sure system was checked, cause if not the file managet won't show anything in the system partition.

Might be too big to look right on your phone cause it is for my tab, but it works properly. Try it and hopefully you can get it to boot.
