Veri-gin - Droid Eris General

I am trying to get a little information on whether it's even possible to switch my Eris to Virgin from Verizon. I know that I can get big v yo unlock it for me so I can take it where I want but I cannot seem to get a hold of people at Virgin to ask them. Is there a different number than the one on the website I can call and talk to a person? Or better yet, has anyone on here done it?

What about Cricket? I have gotten my old Verizon Eris working on their PayGO plan in prep for my mother in law visit here in a month, at that time I will switch it to the Android plan. (Talk text MMS and Mobile web on PayGO, but the Android play is less fickle with dropping the data connection due the proxy)

Tricky way around not being able to send MMS on prepaid Galaxy Note.

I have a stock AT&T note running on the 50$ prepaid unlimited plan. I have tried every APN I can find, but to no avail, no mms! I have however found that the Voxer app allows you to send pictures. They send much more quickly than mms and it works if you only have a wifi connection. I'm a noob and I'm sure it shows but I didn't want it to get in the way of contributing to a forum that has given me lots of info. If anyone else has a fix for the mms issue.....I would be grateful.

Sigh, why are people going with at&t prepay plans when it sucks so much. Check out Straighttalk prepay plan instead.
Explain the straight talk to me. Can i keep my number?...what is the difference between the two?

Straight Talk Experiences?

I just got this phone passed on to me and will be leaving Sprint to use it.
I keep reading about straight talk and how cheap it is but still runs on AT&T towers etc...
What are your experiences with Straight Talk and this device? Worth it or should I just go to AT&T and pay double?

Yours won't work with Straight Talk because it runs on CDMA
He is leaving Sprint to use his inherited i777. I have seen others who are very pleased with his phone on ST. Look in the general section.

ST on AT&T is epic. Awesome service, awesome coverage, no issues at all. The one time I called Straight Talk's customer service, I did actually get a helpful, English-speaking person on the line.
I've never tried pushing the data limit but everything has worked very well for me. Coming from Sprint (depending on location of course) you will be a big fan of AT&T. I wouldn't pay even $30 a month for an unlimited plan with Sprint. Good luck.

Seems like he inherited a Sprint S2 based on the Sig
He doesn't have service on the new phone. Hence the question. Some of us have multiple devices.

I have no issues, I've been using it for almost 1 1/2 years and I refuse to ever go to contract. Do it dude.

I am going to be waiting out my contract and purchasing a phone at cost and using straight Talk with it. No more contracts for me. 45 bucks a month for unlimited everything? Can't beat that.
After reading this thread and a few others, talking to our companies AT&T Rep and a few face to face discussions surrounding straight talk I've decided to go with AT&T.
I think it would be great for a light user who checks email and refreshes Facebook etc... But I'm more data hungry and it sounded like that may be an issue with straight talk. Maybe not right away, but eventually.
I'm now on AT&T contract free.

[Q] Text MSG from Sprint Regarding Tower Upgrades

Hello folks,
So I was wondering about something, My sister got a text from Sprint on her GSIII and it said we wanted to inform you about upcoming upgrades to the network and such crap and it mentioned something about 4G as well and I wanted to know if anyone else had ever received this and if so did it accompany a tower upgrade to 4G in your area. I ask because I've been with Sprint for a while now and have never received a WiMax or LTE tower near me yet (closest is a couple hours away).
Thanks
Back before 4G was placed pretty much everywhere around me (Camp Hill, PA), I recall getting texted about WiMAX (very slowly) being introduced. I never received the same text for when they converted to LTE.

I looked it up on some other sites and it looks like it doesnt have much to do with the upgrades, it seems to be just a random thing to keep customers.
I also received the text. No updates in my area yet.

My Gf actually just received one of the texts about upgrades a week ago, that had been made in her area (westland, Michigan) where her phones billing address is, and the 3g speeds are finally bearable/more consistent indoors/outdoors, unlike before where we would both struggle to get 1x indoors....so looks like it's based where your phone is registered/billed at....so there might be some truth in the upgrades happening and the texts corresponding to them...

[Q] Inc 4g on Straight Talk?

My contract with Verizon is ending in a few months and I am wanting to take my phone to a prepaid provider. I am wanting to go to straight talk. Can this be done? If so how?
Also, what are other prepaid providers that will work with this phone?
You should be able to take it with you. Straight talk is a third party vendor that has contracts with all of the major wireless companies.

So if I should be able to can you tell me how I can use my phone on ST.
Do I just need to buy the sim and use it? Or is it more involved?
I dug around and found the only non- LTE phones are able to be used with straight talk at this time. Sorry.

Dang, thats what I was afraid of.
Would it maybe work if you switched the network mode to GSM, or CDMA? Im guessing you might only get 3g service then?

I'm using this phone on ST. I had to buy a SIM card & minutes. The SIM card is the TMo card & I bought a SIM cutter to cut it to the right size. I didn't have any trouble actually getting it to work. There might have been some settings to change, but I found all that here.
I only get Edge data, but I use wireless mostly so not a huge deal. The only thing I haven't figured out, despite much searching & playing with settings, is getting MMS to work. Which didn't seem like a huge deal until I realized that anytime someone sends a group text it's an MMS.

Need help with htc one max

I recently purchased an HTC one max, after making sure it was for the sprint network and verified the esn was clean and clear. After trying to activate it via built in program.... No luck. I kept getting an error code saying I need to call sprint directly. I called sprint and after talking to a few different reps, one finally had an answer on why I can't activate the phone. I was told that the phones
wi-max id was not in there system, and they needed to do a "click it ticket". Does anyone know if there is a way around this, or a fix to get this $600 dollar paper weight on the network? Please let me know, and thank you in advance.

why cant you just take it back to Sprint, and have them fix/replace it?
Because they are trying to pawn it off on HTC because they are retards and can't figure it out lol
