installing a theme

hi there
.
.
will installing a theme wipe my phone!? do i need to back up everything before i install the theme?? i want to install via xrecovery
.
.
thank you
Hi,
as far as I know installing a theme will not wipe your phone but it is good to wipe your
phone before installing a theme.
If you want to go back to your previous condition-after installing the theme-you must
back up before you install the theme.
if i already have a theme installed . . and i want to change t . . just install the new theme via xrecovery over the old theme and everything will go fine?!
installing a theme via xrecovery doesn't change any system settings or wipe data
create a backup in any case have to be good gotona
Make a backup in xrecovery before you install the theme.
Better safe than sorry
thanx guys
I installed Gingerbread yesterday, and I didn't do any backup at all, only of my contacts. I found out later that it DIDN'T delete anything on my phone, not apps or anything.
Hi guys
Does your phone need to be rooted?
Or can i just use xrecovery to install a theme?

CRT-off animation?

Sorry for my english...
I'm looking for CRT(OFF and, if it's possible also ON) animation for my GSII, I've got XXKI4 ROM. I only found CRT-OFF with battery percentage MOD, I only want CRT animation.
Where I can find it?
Thanks
use JKay deluxe settings. just search the forum.
Install JKAY Theme and you will have it.
It will change something else in my phone? I don't want ANY change on my theme...
In that page there is:
CRT Effect ON / OFF
The effect is still not working right, but you can make it look good by screen capture a white image. You can use the Quick Test Menu (*#7353#), select '8. TSP Dot Mode' and take a screenshot to capture a white image.
This 'fix' works until you take a screenshot of something not completely white!

its fully customizable, you can pretty much make it look whatever you like.
who knows, maybe youll even find some new stuff that you'll wanna use (i did )
Ok, I will try it tomorrow... But there's a method to remove this MOD?
well im not sure about uninstalling the theme (never tried it) but you can always make a nand backup. you should do one anyway before flashing a new theme, just in case...

Here you go...a freshly made KK2 framework-res.apk with CRT Off.
Just use root explorer to copy over your existing one found in system/framework folder and job done.
I would recommend keeping a copy of your original framework-res.apk if you want to revert back to the normal screen off
Enjoy

[q] miuy4 v2 theme problem?

I've just installed the MIUY4 custom rom on my Galaxy Ace.
It's really great, only thing is I can't get it figured out with the 'zhijun_theme2.zip' file.
I've put this zip file as instructed on the sd-card in the qqlauncher/themes folder. But what do i have to do next? Or do i have to unzip it first?
Thanks
U need go to THEME MANAGER!!And then install the theme by clicking apply on it!
Already did that, but only gives me one theme: the default theme

just rename it to theme instead of themes..
After you install the rom you need the miui theme.
Install it manually by putting it in QQLauncher\Theme

Wrong answer...
You could be right, but no...
That are not the default themes...
I think you should drag and drop the files from your theme into the framework file and compile and sign. That should do it.
Or do you mean a theme enabled by default but not default theme?
Greets!

Try wipe cache and dalvik, and sign correctly. I admit that it is strange.
Greets!
Edit: did you sign, compile?

Hi,
check for what exactly ?
there is nothing special .. as I said .. if I flash the ROM and the theme separately then every thing is ok ...
all I did was replace the files in the zip..and then I get stucj at bootanimation.
I didn't sign or compile...
I have a theory : the SystemUI has a battery percentage and the apk has new files in it... could it be the problem ?

First: to clarify;
you have a couple APKs for your Tab.
You place them in a flashable zip, flash, bootblock
you have a ROM for your Tab,
you grab the .zip, and replace the theme APKs, flash, and it works?
THat is really strange...
Hi,
thanks for answering me mDroidd ...
I found the problem.. it is the SystemUI.apk
I copied all the theme files to my ROM zip except that file and the device boot ok.
why does this file need to be flashed in a separate zip ?
is there another way ?

If your phone is not rooted, you can only disable the wallpapers under Settings>Apps. If your phone is rooted, you can install titanium backup and uninstall the wallpapers permanently under Backup/Restore.
You can always delete the images using file explorers.
Cheers!

thanks for reply but i think you didn't understand. I'm asking how to change it in the rom itself like i want to delete some default wallpapers and add some in the rom not after flashing it!

Oh! That. You can delete the wallpapers in the zip . Just explore the rom zip and go to zipfile>>system>>media. Its different with every Rom. You might or might not find the wallpapers in the same location. It's rather easy to delete the wallpapers after flashing.
