Hi Guys,
Just been playing around with my S2 and as I was going through my music library I noticed the music player didn't seem to play my FLAC audio files.... is there a fix for this or could you please recommend a good music player which would support FLAC?
Regards,
Hamid
That weird because galaxy s1 can play flac using stock samsung app without hiccup, maybe try use poweramp?
Poweramp media player
That's strange. My whole library is FLAC and it's playing them fine. Using default music app on stock firmware. As for another music player for flac there is andless which is a lightweight and simple player.

Flayers stock music player didn't recognize flac files, and I decided to go for MortPlayer I am using on my Galaxy S. Unfortunately, while Mort did play other music files, it didn't play same flac files it does on Galaxy S. I am even suspecting some system problem with flac playback, but don't have any evidence to support this claim.
As I really love MortPlayer for three major things: flac playback, folder playback and it's free, can anybody recommend working flac player for HTC Flayer, with folder playback if possible?
I found app, name is Player . It is not as polished as Mortplayer, but it does play flac files, and can play everything from specified folder. If somebody a have better suggestion, please share.
PowerAMP hands down is the best music player
AndLess
I use AndLess, simple, and works great! I haven't really tried others so no comments on those.
PowerAmp has some unusuall high cpu usage spikes, it's a bit to shiny for me, and isn't free.
AndLess worked great on my Galaxy S, I like its simple and effective interface. Will try it on Flayer, thx for the tip

I have some mp3 podcasts that have "blips" in the middle of the files. It plays fine on VLC on my computer, it just skips over the corrupt part. However, when the media player on my Android 2.2 phone (HTC vision) plays one of these mp3s, it stops playing instead. It just abruptly starts the next mp3 in the playlist. I've tried several mp3 players including meplayer and mixzing and they all do the same thing. I searched the Android market for VLC but found some ripoff called "VLC Direct" instead (looks just like VLC but won't actually play any files unless you pay).
Anyone know an mp3 player that will play over bumps in a file instead of stopping?
Try Google music... flac works on Google music, I think it will work too..

Is Google Music the software name? I can't find anything like that on the market.
Any other mp3 players?

Yeah, thanks but no thanks.
I'm on GN - 4.0.2. I've got audio books in .aac files.
I know aac is an accepted format on 4.0+, but I can't find a player that will play them. They require .m4a.
So two questions:
1. is there a audiobook player for .aac files?
2. is there a better site/forum for audio book issues? mobileread seems only to deal with ebooks.

Have you tried Audiobook Player 2 (by Fredrik Maelstrom) in the market? I just tried it now and it seems to play my .m4a files just fine.

Yes, it plays m4a - but I'm looking for a ".aac" player.
I couldn't get it to play aac files. Can you?
How do I get stock music player to play flac file? When I add flac files, it does not show up in the stock music player. I can play flac with sound player but will have to click on each individual file instead of playing the entire folder.
Convert then to mp3s... The stock music player does not support flac format. Sorry man.
perhaps try another player i use google music, buy Idk my music are mp3s
Power amp is great.
It's $5 but since you have flac files I have a feeling you will like the full eq and minor tweaks you can do.
There is also a 15 day trial.

.caf == Core Audio Format, is an Apple defined media container that can hold a variety of audio and/or video encoded content.
Try MX Player, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
or Mobo Video Player Pro, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobo.video.player.pro&hl=en
Thanks MX player did the trick. Its annoying though i have many "good" music players such as poweramp and all could not play the .caf file which is very dissapointing.

I agree. I really don't know why Apple thought we needed yet another container format when there are already so many out there, unless it was to try to play the vendor lock-in game
iPhone doesn't support playing CAF files.
To play CAF on iPhone, I use a software named Faasoft Audio Converter to convert CAF to MP3, AAC, AC3, etc.
