I don't now if I buy that video. Hands look fake, and I haven't seen flash video that choppy since I tried to run it on my Hero.

It's in 1080p and not the average 240/360p which is what you use to watch flash videos with, just go to Youtube website on your smartphone and try to increase the video quality to 720p and see what happens ^^

Its is one of the most powerful android phones available currently, top 5.
Please attempt to do some research in the future, before posting such a blatant question
i never did get this why in the world do you want a 1080p video on a 5 inch screen. the only reason i can logically see is if you already had 1080p videos encoded.

U are absolutely right. Bragging rights, in combination that the large majority want the latest and greatest and don't fully understand how it works
thanks for clearing things up,
before asking these blatant questions,
i have done a good amount of reseach
and i was getting different answers,
i probably will never ever watch 1080p on the 5 inch screen but my quetion was meant to find out what it could do rather than what i will do with it.
thanks for the answers everyone, and sorry for making my intention to be unclear at first.

Having the right video player helps
Dice Player is great
anyone tried an htc one x in ATT store? what you think
I have seen a couple of videos on here where they were recorded in slow motion and those videos looked great, however, I have tried a few times and they always come out looking really bad. (grainy, and blurry). I have tried with all the settings left on auto and also setting things up manually as well (like white balance and ISO).
Is there settings that I am missing to make these videos look as good as they do while recording at normal speed?
Here is the link to the video I shot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjcqQhUIJq0
Also does the camera not record in HD while doing Slow Motion?
I can't help you on making it look better but it doesn't record in HD. The ending resolution ends up being 768 x 432.

Yeah I agree and have the same problem. I have a pitbull and an American bulldog and love recording them playing. Nice dog by the way. The only toys I can buy my boys are Kongs like your dog is playing with, the toy they can't destroy.

Really? Maybe I just expected it to look better, but then I found out that it doesn't record in HD. Here is a link from another user who also shot using the Slow Motion feature his looks way better.

It's probably the light. I think the only reason it goes to HD on the youtube video is because the beginning part might be in HD. I still see the grainy lines on the youtube video and in the slow motion videos I shoot.

I think it's HD on YouTube because the user had to edit it on the computer. (Add music) so I think he saved it in a way that YouTube thought it was HD.
I've noticed that I have to edit files in order for YouTube to have a HD option even though the phone records in HD and saves it as a .MP4.

There is a camera setting. If you touch the "A" you will see the option
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Yeah, the camera does not do HD for slow motion, due to the significantly higher data rates the camera must sustain to do slow motion. It's essentially recording at 120fps or so, which is four times the speed it would record at otherwise. To record in HD, it would require four times the bandwidth and processing power that it does at normal speed.
I've had this phone since it came out and never knew it has that setting.
What is "HDR"?

I think the slip and slide video was edited on a computer. Unless the EVO LTE can do the stop motion at the beginning of the video as well.
So he may have done the slo mo with a computer too.

There are other phones using android that CAN do slow motion HD recording. I assume that this is a software limitation on HTC's part rather than a hardware limitation as the camera on this phone is quite impressive to say the least. Even with my limited knowledge of the inner workings of the android software I would venture to guess that this can at least be brought to 720p slow motion recording. However a speedier SD card may be needed. Man I wish I knew how to dig into Android, I want this camera to be BEAST!
I've had my note for about two months. I came from the one x. One thing i don't like about the note is the grain and noise on dark pictures and video. Guess its just due to the amolded screen. I know being under good light will fix the ones you take but anything I can do to sharpen the image on videos and pics I'm browsing?

Are you referring to recorded videos only? Make sure to change the setting for video to 1080p because I'm pretty sure it's set to 720p by default. Hope that helps.

How is the HBO's streaming service on your HTC One? For some reason or another, the highest streaming quality I can attain is 480p. Why is this? My Internet is strong, my brother's iPhone outputs 720p, yet I'm stuck with poorer quality.
Can anyone else who has HBO GO comment on the streaming quality on their device? I'd to really like to know if it's an isolated issue or widespread.

Good question. I'm not sure but the quality is downright poor. It's odd because other apps like Hulu stream in HD fine.

Not that it matters for as I cant even login to HBO Go, MAX GO works just fine....wth
Mine seems ok as u can see from the screen shot I tried to get here...but it can get blocky at times I noticed...but for the most part it's fairly clear....if u look at the app page in play store seems like there are a lot of complaints about how the app is bad lately....maybe there's something wrong in general....

Click Settings - Quality - Original to view in 4k. Good luck getting the video to stream well. With the terrible lighting and getting bumped it looks better to me around 720p. The sound is not too bad.
I think it looks pretty good honestly. It's not the same quality SOOC so I may go view it on my real comp.

Its always interesting that they gave the GN3 the ability to record 4k but not watch its own videos in 4k on the device lol
Don't watch this video on your devices folk it won't be true 4k.

Even on the computer, which is not 4k res, you can see the "power" of 4k. It's pretty impressive. very immersive.
Video seems great for a cell phone. Did you have to do anything to get it to record at that quality?
Never-mind I found the answer.
Maybe they'll add 4k playback through a software update? I did very well adjusting to the lighting conditions in my opinion

It plays back 4k fine. The problem is the screen is only 1/4 the resolution. There is nothing that can be done when the screen is unable to display 75% of pixels that were recorded. There is no software update in the world that can fix that.
What surprises me is the quality of the sound... For a cell phone mic typically the sound isn't nearly that good. This phone is freaking awesome
