Its is one of the most powerful android phones available currently, top 5.
Please attempt to do some research in the future, before posting such a blatant question
i never did get this why in the world do you want a 1080p video on a 5 inch screen. the only reason i can logically see is if you already had 1080p videos encoded.

U are absolutely right. Bragging rights, in combination that the large majority want the latest and greatest and don't fully understand how it works
thanks for clearing things up,
before asking these blatant questions,
i have done a good amount of reseach
and i was getting different answers,
i probably will never ever watch 1080p on the 5 inch screen but my quetion was meant to find out what it could do rather than what i will do with it.
thanks for the answers everyone, and sorry for making my intention to be unclear at first.

What do you mean full screen? Our devices can't do HD Netfix right now because of our processor or something. HD Netflix isn't compatible with it. We'll get it eventually.

From what I've read, you can download a file so you can get HD netflix..though its not full screen viewing like the market app is.
Idk where, but its the razrs netflix app that does HD. The galaxy nexus forums have the link to the app .

Yeah, many of us have tried that HD Netflix .apk. It won't do anything really. The HD version just isn't compatible yet. Even if you have the .apk, it won't give you true HD until Netflix makes it compatible with our processors.
Here is the thread that has the HD Netflix if you want to try it. But like I said, it won't really do much. Worth a shot, though.
Thanks I shall give it a try..hope they come out with one compatible with the rezound soon!

Tried the apk myself and could not get it to work properly. Plus it repeatedly asked me to upgrade to a newer version in the Android Market. So I got rid of it.

The Nexus is able to do it since it uses similar architecture as the OMAP4 from the Razr. The Snapdragon is a differen't thing. Guess we got screwed on the HD, funny how the Snapdragon Devices were one of the first devices to get Netflix over the OMAP when it was first released.
I had one that worked in full hd and fullscreen but it became outdated and is useless now as you can't play anything without it asking for an update
Its not technically the processor, but the security capabilities. The OMAP4's have whats needed for it to be "secure". I remember an article about it i believe when the droid 3 came out, and heres an example:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/05/netflix-for-android-gets-first-hd-streaming-certification-texas/
The only phone right now that has the security certificate to allow HD streaming from Netflix is the RAZR. Go figure the device w/o a HD screen gets HD netflix . Eventually one day our devices will support HD netflix.
My iPad 1 renders docs, ppts, and pdfs faster and smoother than my Nexus 7. I find it odd since my Android devices contain faster hardware. Does anyone know why that is the case?

Nope, according to forum posts and reviews by people using both platforms the nexus 7 is as good as ipad 3 reading them yet alone as ipad so if you're seeing a large difference I could only suggest trying different viewing apps in case they are the cause.

Have you tried Adobe Reader for your pdfs? I don't have issue with quickoffice pro on my JB Kindle Fire on anything.

He says he doesn't have issue with quick office pro, but i do because i use it. maybe you can figure out what my issue is once you learn to read. Compared to even ipad 1, rendering said files on android is laggy. Why you do insist on accepting **** performance when the hardware is more than capable? There is no excuse for it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Try this and you will understand why:
Open androidcentral.com(or another site with a lots of text and images) on your ipad and your android device. When site is loading pinch page in bothdevices, you will see that ipads web page is not rendering new loaded stuff but android device will be update page every second you keep pinching without stopping. Thats the reason of why 700mhz single core iphone 4 is smoother than our quad core beasts. Whenever an iOS devices detects touch, it stops other processes and focuses all attention to rendering the UI. Android devices don’t do this, instead general processing and UI rendering occurs concurrently which results in choppy UI.

Well I think you made your point there, and having just read your posts about tegra 3 (to see why you're being called a troll) it was pretty clear you were on about one specific developers titles so to be fair I don't think that qualifies you or anyone as a troll. Unless I read it wrong you were actually saying tegra 3 was good but the games from that developer were poorly coded for it.
But I'm going off topic there, sorry. Is the document a free one that can be downloaded?
If so I can try a few viewing apps out on it and find best one as I'm not having issues like that on my phone so if I could get it playing smooth it should be ok for you too were you to try the same software as my phone only has 100 mb free ram usually and you have more plus a better cpu and gpu.

Browsing is excellent and the speed is on a par with Android and iOS browsers. Are you sure you had a descent connection in the store?
No, perhaps the connection was not LTE too. I'm gonna go back tonight and look things over more closely.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
We do not have LTE up here in Maine so my comparison is a little different,
However the browsing experience on the Lumia/IE has been by far the fastest mobile browsing experience I have had with any smart phone. I tried countless browsers throughout many different Android phones and different flavors of Android. Many of them were quite smooth and quick, but this experience has been even better. I expected the opposite so it was quite the happy surprise.
I like the speed of IE, but I am extremely annoyed at MS. They absolutely refuse to allow a true 3rd party browser. Having used Dolphin HD browser for Android, that is everything a browser should be, and truly shows that sometimes, a srd party Dev can just do it better.

Change what number? Your tablet isn't a phone. It links to your GMail account, and you can create a new phone number that can ring your devices on making a new account. If you mean texting people with your actual phone number then yea that might be an issue, as it shows on their phone as your GV number.
Wouldn't it use a new phone number for the texts?
