Yeah I saw the tear down before, however i feel like there are 2 many steps to just remove the screen...youtube vids show less steps its all very confusing..
ALSO putting it all back together is my main issue tbh..

hmm yeah sorry i cant find the link either but i know i had seen ti here before. anyways i found another one for you.
http://www.repairlaunch.com/repair/atrix-4g/
good luck. seems like alot of work.

Should be an easy fix since the screen isn't hot-glued or anything.
Gold luck.

Thank you guys!
Awesome to know that there are people that care
Cheers!

cracked screen

i recently cracked my screen on my htc hero yet everything looks and works fine except for the crack?
is there anyway i can get a replacement on it or get it fixed? I know we are from different countries but any ideas?
help will be greatly appreciated
thanks!
You can buy full housings off eBay, dunno about just the screen... Either way, you would need to open up the whole thing yourself. Maybe HTC can do it for you, I don't know...

Thanks you very much i appreciate your help
Don't know exactly for the hero, but when I broke my screen from my diamond
I found some repair centers on the internet. Picked one who actually had a shop
and got it fixed for 100,- (euro's)
Considering the screen costs 80,- that's not to expensive. I would be suprised if the hero wasn't fixable in that way

[Q] Any way to replace the SILVER BEZEL of our Vibrant?

Is there a way to change the silver bezel \ frame \ band around the screen?
My bezel is horrible!
I am not sure if this is even possible, or if it's welded into the ..... whatever..... and is irreplaceable....
THANKS!

If you want to replace it you will need 3 medium guitar picks to do this. YOu have to take the back section off to re install the new bezel. To see how to do that, check the FFC thread it explains it or check out Youtube on How to install a front facing camera. Like step 3 is far as you go

hi Guys,

thanks,
DJ
heck, i wanted to post this in Q&A... can some mod please move it? thanks a lot!

i accidently posted this here, i was in the Q&A section, so i have no idea how this thread ended up in dev section. i already apoligized for it and asked any of the mods to move this in my second post. so yeah, thanks pointing out the obvious.
to all those who tried to help, thanks a lot!
I had this problem too and my phone's currently getting repaired. Sent it in because I had yellow tint, but also mentioned the loose bottom so hopefully they fix that too.

so not worthy to bring it back and get the phone replaced (in my country they have to replace it if i bring it back within 3 working days), cuz i most likely end up in the same situation? i also have this cracky plastic noise... oh, i love this phone otherwise, especially after my x10 one more minor problem is that the BL is not unlockable, that was disappointing, too, but hey, i can live with it for now until i get ICS
thanks for the answers everyone!
I don't know... i should just try to swap it, I don't have the problem with my XS

Yes indeed :good: thanks for reminding me :highfive:
@everyone: please, just before pressing that shiny and very attractive submit button, ask yourself:
Is what you have written worthy of posting?
Does it create VALUE* - or is it mere NOISE?
Can the amount of quoted text be reduced some more?

Got the screen, can't find the screws. Nevermind - that was off-topic & sorry for bringing it up
But, I don't understand why you replied like that to mihahn's reply? he was just helping you and that's how you reply? If you already looked in eBay you could've just replied that you did look and it's not there. People here have no compulsion to help others but we voluntarily do because we love to help others and that's certainly not how you reply.

Man I think I know how to make posts, but if you ask "where do I get these damned black screws?" and there were some ppl who found them on ebay, I just let you know. Maybe you could just tell us in your first post what exactly you have and what you need, where you looked etc.
Thx @gouthamthemostwanted, that's what I thought :good:

Yes, you're probably right and I'm sorry. I didn't look back at what I posted before replying, I had all forgotten about me even mentioning the screws and was in an annoyed mood because too many people keep posting low-content, off-topic comments, cluttering the forum beyond usefulness. Seems it is beyond my abilities to change that, or I might even have a totally wrong perception of this. I'm back to lurking in the dark silently.

No of course it's great to see you in the forums, maybe we've just misunderstood something
Sorry, but if you (we) can't find them on ebay, I don't know where to get them. Usually most people don't need these screws...
//I know posting should be English, but just that I understand it right:
//Also es fehlen nur die schwarzen Schrauben für innen? Und mehr nicht? (So only the black screws are missing? Nothing else?)
//Sind die verloren gegangen oder wozu? (Have you lost them or why do you need them?)
You don't have to lurke in the dark. Just be polite and it's good to see you apologize for your mistakes (trust me, not many people do that) You are always encouraged to ask doubts and post useful information!

Never buy only a replacement digitizer, it's very difficult (nearly impossible) to separate without breaking LCD: https://www.google.de/search?q=separate+lcd+digitizer
Better buy a complete lcd + touch digitizer "assembly", they have become quite cheap (starting from 15$/€):
www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?Search...e=15&maxPrice=30&SortType=price_asc&isRtl=yes
Pretty cool to have that
Thanks !
thks

thks my friend, i will buy one of these.
but i'm little curious. Apparently the display is ok, just the touch doesn't work. I've noticed that the screen is "transpiring" too much moisture and some screws and springs were rusting. Has anyone tried to find out why the touch fails along the time? its maybe a CI problem or umidity

Well humidity becomes a problem especially when the device temperature is much lower than room temperature (like when coming in from winter/snow ) because the air surrounding the device surfaces cools down and water condenses, even on the inside.. it happens with watches, too..
Or you (or someone close to you) might have dropped it into liquid (toilet?) when you were very drunk
in that case, take out battery IMMEDIATELY, dry clean with a cloth, carefully shake out remaining fluid, then put f.e. into a bowl of dry rice and wait at least 24 hours before trying to power it up..

First of all, thanks for uploading these gems! :good:
This thread is a bit old already but I just unearthed my old SK17i while I was rummaging through my stuff. It got stashed away when it suddenly shutdown while it was charging. Checking, its battery terminals were shorted. Something gave way.
Perhaps you have a parts placement file lurking somewhere? I've tried our friend Google but she came empty-handed.

uhhm sorry, only the ones I uploaded.. Maybe just take it to your nearest repair cafe for help?
I have still like three or four sk17s here with various states of brokenness (screen, plugs, buttons, speaker...)
It was a really usable device, only the android java app sh1t overhead slugged it to death..
with some luck, a wayland phone distro will be usable on it someday :cyclops:

Cracked Battery door, Fix ?

So i have an E970 thats cracked the battery door, everything else is intact and works well , apparently u get just the glass for cheap
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Battery...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4ad6b15ce9
like about 10 bucks , however unsure how one would go abourt replacing this , just wanted to put it out there if anyone has tried this ?
Looks like it's the complete back door. I think it's just the wording is unclear. For $10 it's a good buy. Mine is cracked so my pics looks foggy. Thanks for the find, think I'm gonna order it.

Here is a guide for replacing the microphone/flex port. It essentially has the same steps for removing the back cover if you want to follow the instructions up to that point. It includes some photos so it may be helpful.
You can also look up some YouTube videos if possible.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/LG+Optimus+G+Charging+Port+and+Microphone+Flex+Cable+Replacement/20364
Thanks for your reply, opening the phone is relatively easy , wondering how to go about replacing just the glass on the back door which is essentially what is sent out for $10 .
