Hi all,
I think I've searched all sites I know of but am still unable any that offer faceplates or complete housings for our Touch HD (yes, I'm one of those who have the issue with the coating of the faceplate)
Does anyone have a good reliable source which could have them yet?

for anyone reading this.. i think he means.. replacement housing for the phone.. the actual pieces from the phone.. NOT extra phone cases or covers..

probably not what you'll want to hear, but your probably not going to find anywhere other than htc for replacement housing, they'll keep those moulds well under raps.
then your faced with the warranty validity if you manage to source some parts. who's ur service provider, and i'm sure you'll get a warranty replacement due to your devices freezing up / locking all the time. contact them and moan!
i'm sure someone, somewhere will be able to replace due to its software faults!

E-bay is a good source for replacement parts.
Sometimes you can get real good bargains.

I got my new case from Shenzhen (free of charge, but my Chinese partners had to pay for it here: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/218220985/housing_for_HTC_touch_HD.html ), but I still haven't had time to visit a service center
damn it, I lost the case for my touch hd. Does someone know, where to buy a new (original) one? I dont like the leather-cases, I just need a nice soft-case.

Lucky bastard! That thing is awful.
I found this iPhone case on DealExtreme. Cost me only $1.68, shipping included. Cheap one to use in the gym. Couldn't fit any better, has fleece on the inside and feels overall hundred times better than the original one. I strongly recommend it even though it has a really ugly logo on it.

Yes, always free shipping. I often buy gadgets, cables and stuff like that from them. Doesn't get any cheaper than this.

Oh! again. How many times I have told that one who care for his things cares for himself. This time I am not going to suggest good things replacement. Rather as you dont care loose this HD also and buy new one you get free case.
Dont ask me where you get only cover. Learn to care.

I picked up one of THESE on ebay.
I prefer this style to the velvety black original one that came with the phone. It's also a bit thicker and the rib around it adds some drop tolerance to the phone when it's in the case.
This is a lot like the one that came with my Elf when I got that.

I rather like the case provided. It just works. My only gripe is that it does attract fluff and stuff.
Having said that, I am awaiting HTC's silicon case. I'll be comparing the two, then making my mind up which to stick with.
Arrr, lost mine too. Actually quite liked it. Does anyone want to sell me theirs cheaply? Not £10 though, I'll get HTCs official case for that.

although i cant imagine why anyone would want the damn awful thing, offers no protection, looks cheap and the stylus falls out everytime you remove the HD from it
but mines sat here on the shelf if you want it.

I use the original case to take the fingerprints off the screen!!!! it works perfect!!!!

and the LCDs inside are damaged in the corner!!

You can exchange it with Dell for a Refurbished for $250.00 if you are the registered owner or replace the lcd yourself for around $100.00.
Those are your options. Calling Dell other than to do an out of warranty exchange for 250.00 would be a waste of time since this would not be covered under the normal warranty.
My Otterbox Defender should be here today to protect my newly replaced screen.. .

Like I said,
I am in India, and I dont think I will be making any US trip soon!
So, the exchange / replacement at $250 is not in scope currently!
I am serious about the 100 bucks replacement screen, but, again,
Like I said, It will be like 200 bucks here in India.
That's the problem!

What did you do about the damaged screen?
Edit: I was trying to check for the replacement screen from ebay, but, the 100 bucks screen does not ship to India!!!

So I'm a computer engineer, Brazilian, living in UK.
That phone belong to my friend fat ass 150 kilos, he few weeks ago brake the glass in 3 parts while play futebol, 5 days ago he come to me almost crying, he just sit on the phone, he said when felt the phone he lift but 150 kilos huge fat ass you can imagine.
I see on ebay for £80 glass, screen and tools, I'm thinking about buy and change by myself.

I think if you can see the screen, still working why not keep using the phone whyle you can ?

Update: Recovering from the shock..
I know many people who actualy keep using the phone after a crack on screen, if you can touch and it work why not ?
The streak in my possesion I can't see a thing in the screen but still working, I can answer phone calls and make as well, I just need to remember where is the shortcut.

The more I see of these cracked screen reports the more I wonder how long before a class action lawsuit is filed against Dell for this problem. Gorilla Glass be damned.
About what I see already the original case is so week, first problem the streak was droped on the floor from about 1 metre, that was enough to made a smal crack on the glass, so week unfortunately

Yeah I saw the tear down before, however i feel like there are 2 many steps to just remove the screen...youtube vids show less steps its all very confusing..
ALSO putting it all back together is my main issue tbh..

I have one still looks brand new, i used it for like a week. I dont care for it. I like how my phone looks without it lol. The bad thing about it thats annoyingm is how its made, is at the top where the power button is, is a little stiff on the otterbox, so you got to put double the pressure you would with the factory button would.
Idk a good price so i guess throw offers? Cost me 100 new. I am not asking anywhere near that though. Just figured i would sell it and recoup some money back at least.
