I searched and didn't see anything. I've rooted successfully, but for some reason Tenwar's gets blocked by security. Ti Backup works, ATK works, but I can't get System Recovery installed for my GingerBlur install.
What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance.
Try using the Android sideloading machine application on the PC to install it(you have to download it)

If you are referring to RSD Lite, it won't work. I tried that and RSD Lite won't recognize the .apk file.

he was talking about

which is anotherway to push apps to your phone but directly from your computer
Thanks, rebooting now...we'll see how this goes.
*Edit* Yes, this worked. Thank you much!
My bad, I mistakenly assumed you had sideloading enabled on your phone and it wasn't working. If that was the case, the sideloading wonder machine would have done the trick.

Figured out my Problem Thanks.
For aRoot, I just kept fiddling every day for like 3 days, and it finally worked randomly. Just the combination of debugging and which connection, and the order leading up to it toggled.

Have you enabled usb debugging? Its under settings applications development. did you make sure your phone is set to none under the the usb connection? Lastly did you run the adb prior to the install? Make sure all of those are done...i have limited knowledge myself but hopefully this helps.
Edit: just curious why did you need to flash sbf if you were unable to do anything you mentioned?

I have tried fiddling with gingerblur adeo superroot and aroot for days. I even exchanged my phone once and tried it on 3 computers. Still no luck. It has to be something i am missing or doing wrong. Superroot says it is waiting for device then freezes. aRoot and Gingerblur will says "achieving temporary root then scroll through a whole bunch of stuff and then says rebooting." and the phone never does anything at all.

Yeah, there is something fiddly about achieving root first... once you achieve it, shell root is a breeze.
I had to fiddle with it for a while. Had to do with toggling debugging at the right moment during the root process. Don't remember when, but one of the longer steps. Presumably at or right before it freezes for you. Try toggling off -> on (or on -> off and back).
Connection mode needs to be "None", after you ran through all the connection modes, so your PC has all the necessary drivers installed.
Picked up an Artix from AT&T yesterday and so far, it's a great phone. I'm trying to ROOT this phone with no success. I've tried everything suggested in the forums, I have all the drivers and tools required, but can not get this done. When I run superoneclick and select "root" it hangs on "waiting for device". If somebody could give me detailed step by step instructions, I would be grateful. I'm running on the latest firmware update which is 4.1.57
I've successfully rooted my Nexus S and Inspire 4g with no problem, so I have some experience doing this. Please Help!!

Same here. How did you ROOT your Atrix?
I think it is because of the update 4.1.57 that was released a few weeks ago. I've had my atrix since released and rooted it right away just fine; however, when i try to install the update it crashes and i have to pull the battery and reboot.
i just rooted my atrix yesterday with no problem using gingerbreak so that can't be it

You guys are aware that gingerbreak has an EXTREMELY high risk of formatting you sd card right? I personally suggest using gladroot its less messing and it enables sideloading for you also NEVER use superoneclick that programs nothing but a mess on our phones.
Here's the link for gladroot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016060
thats just my 2 cents

In the instructions on this site it mentions to make a backup of your sdcard. And if that's the only issue, I can deal with it since it's so simple
Also to enable sideloading, download root explorer and sqlite. Go into root explorer --> ers.settings/databases/settings.db. It'll bring you into sqlite. Select secure and the second line should be "install non market apps". Change the value from zero to one
So how can I root my phone after the 4.1.83 update?

Yes, with gingerbreak
Once you update to the latest Atrix 4G release, do not downgrade to a previous version or you will lose functionality. A file system change was made to improve data integrity (for the technically inclined, journaling was enabled on a partition). Once updated, the change cannot be undone through flashing.
Is it safe to flash back?

hm, maybe try to uninstall v1.1 first (settings->applications->manage applications->Gingerbreak->uninstall). download the v1.2 apk. Install v1.2 onto your Atrix with the instructions here, something like (once your phone is connected, debugging mode enabled, USB mode none:
adb devices ->output should list a device, your atrix
adb install C:\directory where you downloaded the apk\GingerBreak-v1.20.apk
the gingerbreak app should now be on your phone, run it and then unroot

You could also move gladroot to an SD card and execute through file manager to install it.
I could be wrong, but you could probably just delete the su and superuser.apk and you should be unrooted.

Safest route........flash sbf and be done with it. By time you find the magic shortcut that will fu*k your phone up you could have flashed 4.1.26 and updated OTA TO 4.1.83.

No. SBF is the official build. SBF does not keep you from OTA update.
Yes, while I understand there have been many threads in regards to RSD Lite not recognizing phones, hear me out as none of them have been helpful to me. I recently got into the world of rooting and flashing roms, so like a fool yesterday I flashed Eclipse v.1 over 2.3.3. Ever since I have been experience the wifi connectivity issue, so reasonably I tried to use RSD lite to get the 2.3.4 sbf onto my X2. However, using RSD 4.5.3 I kept getting a status message along the lines of "chipset type 53 is not supported." Trying it again also with the 2.3.3 sbf, I tried using RSD v.4.9 and 5.3.1, however neither would recognize my phone. Now I am beginning to encounter other issues with Eclipse (my own fault) and I would greatly appreciate any input. All drivers are up to date for anyone who was going to throw that out again.
Be sure the machine you are running rsd on has plenty of disk space.
I got wierd errors a while back when i was running next to full on the HD RSD makes a temporary file before it flashes.

I have more than enough HD space. When running 4.5.3 it has the chipset error as the device status when paired with any sbf.
Are you running RSD as administrator? Maybe that could be a problem but i dont know.

It might be quicker if you enumerated, step-by-step, how you last sbf'ed ... that way, the more experienced amongst us can determine where you went wrong.
Oh, and throw in details on your computer's OS, too ... I hear there have been some problems using RSD Lite with Windows 7.

do u hold power and volume up? ((This is how I do it))
