why isn't titanium backup uninstalling apps (rooted phone)? - Optimus One, P500, V General

i rooted my phone with z4root and installed titanium backup and wanted to uninstall some bloatware and when i tried to the phone restarted as it should but the apps were still there. why aren't they being removed?

Try uninstalling the apps again or re-installing titanium backup from market.
OR
Use rootexplorer to manually remove them from /system/app/ folder ( don't forget to remove the corresponding .odex files )

one more think happened when it didn't delete the app. the phone reset and everything on my phone disappeared. it was like i just took it out of the packaging when i bought it. would anyone know why that happened?

Confirm that you have busybox installed on your phone.lack of it could cause problems with titanium backup.
Though I am not sure that this its the problem in your case.
Use root checker to confirm

[Q] Titanium Backup Doesn't Find Apps

When I open it, press Backup/Restore I don't see any apps. All I see is:
Country, Language, Time zone
Wi-Fi access Points
Bluetooth Pairings
Accounts
Application Widgets
but nothing else. The apps I want to backup/uninstall is not shown.
I tried searching and google, but nada
Click "Problems?"
this happened to me when I switched a Rom before. not sure of which Rom but I had to find my titanium backup folder and place it into what was considered the new root folder. like I said I cannot remember which Rom it was that I flashed but the root folder was the default folder for my files app. hope that helps.
You can also try installing the recommended busybox Titanium uses.
Just to let anybody else know, I had the same problem and I used the BusyBox from Ti backup instead. That fixed it. I tried rebooting and restarting the app, but it needed a newer/different version of BusyBox to get the job done. I'm using a myTouch 4G with the stock, rooted, ROM.
I just cleared data and cache and that fixed it!

Can somone tell me what this is and why it wont uninstall

So I found this file when I was backing up my apps in titanium and it was labeled titanium activator. I couldnt uninstall it and when I checked it out in root explorer it had a list of all my apps with apks, .tar, and preferences. I tried to uninstall it but it wouldn't do it. So I wiped data from titanium and it left me with this. Com.dragon.tpu what the hell was this and why was it on my tab?

You are kidding right? Google "Titanium Activator" and you'll see why no one is gonna help you with this issue.
Yes I was serious. I never downloaded that program. I pay for my apps. I was flashing different roms and noticed this in titanium. So some where along the road this was added to a rom. I figured out how to get rid of it myself but thanks for your two cents.

Titanium backup can uninstall system app but unable to restore them?

Anyone had this happen? I flashed XXKI3 a while ago and while doing initial tuning I backed up samsung account and temporarily uninstalled it. However when I tried to restore it from backup it's stuck on "restoring" and nothing. Force close Ti backup and retry results in the same.
Fortunately a quick reflash via odin restored it, but now I'm paranoid about uninstall anything with Ti backup, backup is useless if it can't be restored.
At the time I was on either stock or CF root, can't recall which one.
For the future, you should consider freezing apps (Paid version) you don't need before deleting them; much easier to restore if things go wrong.
For me personally, I could always restore uninstalled apps through Titanium though.
I know about freezing, but I needed uninstall to try out some stuff.

[Q] Cannot restore music.apk with Titanium Backup Pro

Used Titanium Back apps for several months. Had no system problems. Needed a bit more internal memory free and decided to uninstall the stock gingerbread music app ( which i backup and then I uninstalled it) because I use other music players and it has been listed as being safe to remove w/o system probs.
Samsung galaxy y
Stock 2.3.6 Froyo ROM
Before doing anymore uninstalls I wanted to see if i could restore this. Titanium Backup Pro just hangs indefinitely when trying to restore the stock music.apk app. Have to kill it. Using Root Explorer and ES File Manager, I am able to see the app in the system/app folder after doing this but it does not show in the app drawer.
What I've Tried:
1. Contacted Titanium Support. Great guys and very helpful. Cannot stress this enough and the app is awesome. They suggested taking the apk from the backup files and moving it using adb.
Result: Moved the file but would not show up in app drawer.
2. Found the stock music.apk in system/app folder using Root Explorer
Result: Tried rebooting. Did not work. Tried factory reset from Privacy Menu. Still not in app drawer.
please help guys!!!!!!!!!!!! how to fix this????
Have you tried clearing the data for Music app? When I've restored apps with Titanium, sometimes the data is corrupted or something and I have to clear the data.
You can always try uninstalling it and pushing a new music program with adb.

Can't uninstall Viper4Android!!??

I've recently flashed a zip with viper4android, but it didn't work for me, so I decided to uninstall it. I deleted the drivers, then rebooted. I wanted to uninstall the app, but I noticed it's installed as a system app, so I used Titanium Backup to remove it. Nothing. The app was still installed. Tried to remove it with some other powerful root apps. Still not uninstalled. I've just removed viper4android folder from /system/priv-app and it didn't work either. Is there something I can do or do I have no other choice than restoring my nandroid?
EDIT: I forgot to mention, that every time I try to uninstall viper4android, be it using titanium backup or other root app manager, it always says that the app was uninstalled succesfully, even though it's not uninstalled.
