for battery just go for void u can even try open optimus the coming built on sunday
try lol 1.4.2 easy to install and works great...for better performance, flash over dookmatt kernel
i'd tried open Optimus. then i flashed 2.3.4 ! itz gud! bt the battery issue seems to be bugging me :/
and as far as lol is concerned. . i cant get mobile data connection working on it even when i have proper access point!
I'd recommend devoid.franco, I'm using it now and it's working great.
I've flashed devoid.franco. when i overclock it to 729, phone random reboots(kernel panic?). And my quadrant scores are low, ~690.
And I can't even still post in the ROM thread to get solutions, until I finish 10 posts that is!
Try void with franco's tweak plus app2sd. Decent performance, decent battery life and lastly stable.
i'v added the app2sd functionality using kitchen!
and i couldnt find franco's tweaks. can u give me a link?

Yup, that's what I use and love it. Why would anyone use anything else?! CyanogenMod is the most used by far and therefore the most tested. Only thing I don't like is the ADWLauncher theme/personality they include by default. However it's dead simple to switch to LauncherPro. Just download it from Android Market and hit the home button and it will ask you if you want to used it by default. A much better theme/personality IMHO.

In the thread from Mik for CM7, it says something about shoddy bluetooth headset calls. How bad is it? That's the only thing holding me back.
iv also replaced ADW Launcher by LauncherPro.!

Great Kernel! SNES now works smoother than before, not yet perfect, but I'll try to overclock w/ void and maybe that'll do the trick.
Thanks mik_os!

mik_os kernel shuts down phone
Hi guys,
I cannot post this in the mik_os thread (this is my firs post), so i am asking you:
does anybody have random reboots with the mik_os kernel? I works great, everything is smooth like butter, but i noticed that the phone shuts down by itself, every now and than. I flashed mik_os kernel on Void and stock rom, so it is not a rom problem, my guess. Both times i found my phone off every few hours.
I guess i'm the only one with this problem, right?

The stock sd card are known for causing random reboot. You should try replacing it with at least class 4 specs.
Thanks, i will first thing on monday. The funny thing is i had the same sd card for a week now and i had no power off problems, but as soon as i flashed Void, the problem appeared. Maybe it is because the stock sd cannot handle ext4 werry well. I'll revert the partition to ext2 and test it.
Thanks for both Mik_os and nojen
Their job is amazing! Don't think about donating them, just do it without thinking because they deserve
Thanks to miks and noejn and of ourse let us not forget to thank the other devs who are striving hard to fix bugs, to create and redesign roms. And all of them that makes our optimus one reach its full potential.
@ruwin
Yes. Its the lower class sd card w/c is the problem. Buy yourself a better one.
Thanks mik_os the hardwork. Awaiting final version on gingerbread.... since I am new to this forum I have restricted access to post.

Hi just wondering. Can i flash this Kernel even if im already using Megatron? Im a newbie. Please advice. thanks.
Sorry to be a pain, ain't got me 10 posts yet but wanted to ask about this awesome mod.... I've flashed Void.Echo, which has Mik preloaded.... seems to have improved quite a bit but when I was looking at the CPU clock in SetCPU, it still goes to 100% when I rest my finger on the screen. A quick tap of less than a second doesn't do it but anytime it's longer, the CPU jumps back up to max.... is this supposed to happen?
Cheers guys
@anarchy32 I installed mik_os signed_kernel after i flashed void, and worked like a charm. I tested the kernel with Android Assistant o two p500 phones, with void and stock rom and worked flawless: the cpu went up to 50% max on looooong taps. You could try to flash the kernel again from recovery, it will reinstall it. Give it a try and tell us what happens.
i would like to thank both of them also for a wonderful work for LG O1, without them our handset is boring
yes thanks to mik_os for u work
Hi just wondering. Can i flash this Kernel even if im already using Megatron? Im a newbie. Please advice. thanks.
my faves are amberhome, devoid and ubuntdroid. I cycle through regularly depending on my mood
What's this topic suppose to solve/develop ? I really think it is useless and pointless...
Yeah...and there isn't that MUCH roms yet for the O1.

i like Megatron because i am bothered with setting up void.. and it is the first ROM i flashed
void is awesome.
cant wait for cyan and ginga
megatron is the most flawless ever ...all others have some defect or the other..My take ?? Void brings unmount issues ..with LOL theres kernel panic with DUN profile ....UBuntDroid GPS issues and m done switching until somebody comes up GIngerbread port...
Void for me the best !

I prefer OptimusXRom V 1.1. It's easy, good and fast! Try it!
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
VOID and LOL it is
the only one i've tried is Prime V2
wasn't impressed, didn't notice much difference from stock, so i just added JIT, HW to stock rom.
well so far, my favorite is ubuntdroid. i love the feel. megatron got me way higher quadrant scores (up to ~1400), but it just doesn't look as good. it's too similar to stock looks. i do miss those high peformance rates, but i've not been doing anything with it to demand that kind of performance, and i just prefer the way ubuntdroid looks, right now. i'm really hoping that i can get a black themed market to work. that's my next step!
I've tried void, devoid and mik_os's CyanogenMod port.
I loved how lightweight devoid was, but it was a bit too lightweight for me: I couldn't get the calendar app installed, although I did manage to get the rest of the gapps installed.
The gingerbread along with all of the CM tweaks was a lot of fun, but there are some still annoying bugs with a black screen on unlocking. I will definitely move to this one when the bugs are wrung out of it. Especially if it gets fancy new updated graphics drivers for 2.3.
So, I'm back to void. It's snappy enough, has great battery life (using some setCPU magic), and everything works (using the gapps, gingerbread, kernel, tapps modules). Much more fun than stock!
I know this is a polarizing question, but I need to find a ROM that works best for my dad's Fascinate. Basically it needs to be stable and have decent battery life. It doesn't matter if it's a 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. Thanks for your comments!
there's a whole list of roms in the development section so you can take your pick, most are stable and provide pretty good battery life though it varies from phone to phone.. as for personal recommendations, I ran Adryn's SuperClean rom (last and latest version is 2.9.2) over a debloated stock EB01 rom, it was very stable and battery life was above average compared to my use of complete stock VZ rom. Second I would recommend what im running on now, Ultimate KangBang (UKB)/Community Rom (ComRom) 2.1. its pretty stable, little bugs here and there but overall very nice and battery life again I would say is above average. Of course this all depends on the custom kernel you choose to run with the rom, I am on UKB 2.1 with stock kernel because my Fascinate doesn't take kindly to undervolting or overclocking so no special kernel for me... hope this helps, take a look around this forum and read the different rom threads in development to see how to install/files to download/known bugs within the rom/user feedback
tapatalked from my KangBanged Fascinate
vote for Comrom 2.1 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073363
I hate to say it, but if all you're looking for is stable and decent battery life, go with stock. On a particular phone another ROM may be more stable or offer better life, but no ROM will do so across the board for all phones. Most likely, whatever ROM you try will be no more stable and have no better battery life than stock.
Of course custom ROMs offer other benefits such as being de-bloated or de-binged. But for stability and battery life you are at least as likely to be worse off with a custom ROM as better. You can improve the odds substantially if you have the time to test out different ROMs and settings to find out what works best for that particular phone, but it doesn't sound like you do.
Well i have used practically all the ROMS available at this point ( except CM ) and with my personal experience i can say go for
DEBLOATED , DEODEXED, DEBINED ED01 and you ll get the best battery and a very very snappy setup , i have done this alreday , initailly there were issues as i didnt follow proper procedure , but when i installed the stuff properly it was working like a charm

Other than stock there are only 2 out, Overcome and Brood, It'll be down to your own preference but I use Overcome.
Hmm time to create another ROM then.
Just got mine
I am using overcome too but it has still some minor bug. I do feel that it is quicker than the touchwiz ... so it is still a good rom ..
perfect! I'll try almost Overcome ... waiting for some other more powerful ROM!! thx all
Overcome is nice and smooth, few things i would find are.
#some people might find the roboto font a tad difficult to read, but alterbridge has provided the original fonts,
#there is no overclocking, the pershoot kernel get a bit jittery if installed(some say the kernal fails to oc gt-p7500, but my antutu score shot up from 4600 to 6100 after installing pershoot's kernal, but i came back to the kernel that comes with ovecome rom as the tab was getting stuck at times with the pershoot kernel on )
#very quick responding developers, every doubt and bud is cleared within the day itself cheers to alterbrige69

Normally there is no best rom. It depence on your needs which rom the best is. Personally i use the overcom, because the ASOP theme possibilities. So possible you can take a look there. But also the task rom is very good.
At the end... what you need is what you flash
I rather wait for cm9.. now using stock + pershot [email protected]

Careful here, task 14 is for WI-FI model only.
Try overcome that have two versions (for the 3g+wi and for the wifi only)
I now use overcome series but last time i try infamous it works great better than overcome imo after i realize that it does have 3g

I know you didn't ask it, but... For the laggy screen, i recommend ADW EX or another launcher and set it as your default launcher.
If you use overcome dont forget to use overclock kernel. It makes overcome super super smooth.
As for your consideration of overclocking making your tab not stable just install it but don't raise maximum cpu.
By the way is there anyone who use supercharger script at overcome rom?

You should install mean rom 4.2 and then flash dodova 5.4 kernel.. It provides the best balance of performance, stability and battery life. There also weren't any issues with volume on my end. Its so good that even tho ive upgraded to Mean ICS I have a nandroid of that exact setup

Flash 4.3 then flash Dodova's updated 5.4 or 5.5-test kernel separate. The 5.3 kernel that installs with 4.3 gives a lot of people reboots.
4.2 and 5.4 test was awesome for me work great till I switch to mean Rom ics v0.91 all good just minor issue .
it's all good, battery life is awesome!!!!.... now im looking for a rom that is aosp which one do you guys think is best? with large battery duration and good performance duration... Thanks in advance
every time the phone sits so screen off initializes , apparently the phone completely shuts down at some point ..
a quick tap of the power button to activate display and phones boots to htc logo
any suggestions please I already tried turning fast boot back on and that didn't help at all
edit : running meanROM 4.2 - it did it with .2 kernel and still with .4
I have no idea, I get the same thing, apparently that is a bug they haven't fixed. At least my phone reboots once a day tops with the kernel... Let's ser if we can find out!

i hope so and if it's a bug it has to be only a very few people using meanrom that encountered it ..
I dont mean to hijack your thread but this is directly related to meanrom 4.3 and headphones. Have you noticed when using music apps if you plug in a set of headphones it causes the fast forward/skip option to be pressed repeatedly? Im kind of wondering if the headphone jack for our phones has the abilities to use a set of headphones with a fastforword/skip button on them and perhaps its just my jack thats deffective. Just curious if youve ever noticed something similar with your phone.

There is a fork of Mean Rom in the CDMA development forum that removes sense as much as possible. I forget what it's called. On a pure aosp Rom, some stuff is broken so I suggest a desensified Rom instead.
