Other than stock there are only 2 out, Overcome and Brood, It'll be down to your own preference but I use Overcome.

Hmm time to create another ROM then.
Just got mine

I am using overcome too but it has still some minor bug. I do feel that it is quicker than the touchwiz ... so it is still a good rom ..

perfect! I'll try almost Overcome ... waiting for some other more powerful ROM!! thx all

Overcome is nice and smooth, few things i would find are.
#some people might find the roboto font a tad difficult to read, but alterbridge has provided the original fonts,
#there is no overclocking, the pershoot kernel get a bit jittery if installed(some say the kernal fails to oc gt-p7500, but my antutu score shot up from 4600 to 6100 after installing pershoot's kernal, but i came back to the kernel that comes with ovecome rom as the tab was getting stuck at times with the pershoot kernel on )
#very quick responding developers, every doubt and bud is cleared within the day itself cheers to alterbrige69

I prefer stock with pershoots kernel, in ask its touch wiz glory!

Normally there is no best rom. It depence on your needs which rom the best is. Personally i use the overcom, because the ASOP theme possibilities. So possible you can take a look there. But also the task rom is very good.
At the end... what you need is what you flash

I rather wait for cm9.. now using stock + pershot [email protected]

Careful here, task 14 is for WI-FI model only.
Try overcome that have two versions (for the 3g+wi and for the wifi only)

I now use overcome series but last time i try infamous it works great better than overcome imo after i realize that it does have 3g
Jamison said the 3g fix is on the way and it will come at this weekend so you can use his rom on p7500

Welcome to the club =)
I know you didn't ask it, but... For the laggy screen, i recommend ADW EX or another launcher and set it as your default launcher.

If you use overcome dont forget to use overclock kernel. It makes overcome super super smooth.
As for your consideration of overclocking making your tab not stable just install it but don't raise maximum cpu.
By the way is there anyone who use supercharger script at overcome rom?

for battery just go for void u can even try open optimus the coming built on sunday
try lol 1.4.2 easy to install and works great...for better performance, flash over dookmatt kernel
i'd tried open Optimus. then i flashed 2.3.4 ! itz gud! bt the battery issue seems to be bugging me :/
and as far as lol is concerned. . i cant get mobile data connection working on it even when i have proper access point!
I'd recommend devoid.franco, I'm using it now and it's working great.
I've flashed devoid.franco. when i overclock it to 729, phone random reboots(kernel panic?). And my quadrant scores are low, ~690.
And I can't even still post in the ROM thread to get solutions, until I finish 10 posts that is!
Try void with franco's tweak plus app2sd. Decent performance, decent battery life and lastly stable.
i'v added the app2sd functionality using kitchen!
and i couldnt find franco's tweaks. can u give me a link?

Yup, that's what I use and love it. Why would anyone use anything else?! CyanogenMod is the most used by far and therefore the most tested. Only thing I don't like is the ADWLauncher theme/personality they include by default. However it's dead simple to switch to LauncherPro. Just download it from Android Market and hit the home button and it will ask you if you want to used it by default. A much better theme/personality IMHO.

In the thread from Mik for CM7, it says something about shoddy bluetooth headset calls. How bad is it? That's the only thing holding me back.

I use CodeROM v2x-2b for daily use. Stable and fast and stock look (which i like).
But in the end its always a matter of personal preference.
Cheers
U can flash plain xwkpn, it,s fast and stable. And very good battery life compared to custom roms and its official Samsung multi csc firmware so there will be least issues in performance.
U will find a tutorial to flash it. (Xwkpn Spain) ..
Use original stock ROM
In my opinion, if you want to use your phone as a daily use phone, just leave it as is. Simply use the original ROM, less problems. In case of something happen, service center will take care of it and if it is covered by the warranty, You will probably be free of charge (condition apply).
But it depends on how the "daily use" requirements, Back to the personal preference.
For me, eventhough I use the phone for daily use but I want to explore how my SGA does with some custom ROMs. Just to get a feeling of "WOW" when I get something more from my phone.
Again, it back to your preferences.
Regards,
Tamhaeda

From my experience, u must decide how u prefer using your ace. If u want fast it may cost your ace battery life, on the other hand if u want your phone to last longer it will cost u decreasing your performance or killing running background app event just using only 2g network.
I'ts all about how u configure your phone to meet your needs, roms just a way to get better operating system for your ace, different people, different needs.. So they will offer u different roms..

if you have any trouble you can straight go to the service center unlike custom roms

ROM - which one is really worthy to use.

Hi,
Looking for a ROM for GT 10.1
that:
-netflix works on
-camera working
-no lag
-less known error (i know that not all roms are perfect)
-doesn't over heat
-over clocking not that important but good.
-no setting errors (such as security option not working).
does anyone know a real stable rom - we should have a site here that rates most of this rom so we can see on which one is really a good rom to use with less headache and less time looking for fix and just use the tablet...
thank you.
Unfortunately there are no stable 3rd party ROMs. It is HIGHLY recommended to stick with the stock TW rom as it is superior in stability and compatibility compared to 3rd party roms.

Disregard the previous post. That guy is a huge troll -- read some of his other posts and you'll see. I don't get why he's even on this forum if he doesn't want to use 3rd party ROMs.
There are plenty of good ROMs. Starburst ROM is good, but you need to pick up setcpu to overclock (there's a thread on XDA where you can get it free from the developer). That will take care of some of the lag (not all of it, but this is a first gen device. Unfortunately the netflix included in that ROM doesn't work, but there is a thread on here that you can replace it with (again, unfortunately it resets whenever you reset the device, so you need to reinstall it. Hopefully the starburst dev will fix that for the next release). All of the available ROMs are listed in the stickied post in the android dev section of the GT10 forum.
Good luck!

i did OC my tablet but i seem to lose the ability to secure my tablet..do you this issue.. by secure i mean i can enable the security option on the tablet.. every time i try to enable it, it simply throw me back to the same option and it says it tablet is still unsecure..
Someone posted "com.netflix.mediaclient_246_hctweaks.apk" for galaxy 10.1 tablets, It works for me using Task360's rom.
I find custom roms run smoother, better, faster, stronger
FWIW, I did have some trouble with the Starburst and Bonsai ROMs but I strongly suspect user error on my part. Starburst actually ran great, but permanently disabled autorotation for some reason.
I am now running Task650's UEKME deodexed ROM with pershoot's kernel set at 1400 and the thing runs incredible.

can you provide a link on this rom so i can try i this one out..
also installing this new rom.. is the i way i can be sure that the old rom is taken out completely.. just to be sure i'm not doing anything wrong or transferring errors from one rom to the other...
thanks
I haven't had any problems with auto rotate or locking the tab on star burst
Been using Starburst without a single hiccup for 2 weeks now. Netflix is not available in my country but Spotify works flawlessly.
deleted.
........
Starburst has also been running great for me, except Amazon MP3 doesn't stream correctly. I'm hoping that this was just user error on my part and that it'll be fixed with the next flash.

CM7 vs. Custom Rom

Hi
I'm wondering which rom is smoother and faster:
CM7 @ Clemsyn's 1.4Ghz OR Custom Rom with EXT4 FS (like aura or the dark side) with Clemsyn's 1.4Ghz
TY
Try it yourself.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Great answer ><
I'm already tried it, and its seems that aura faster than cm7, that's weird because most of the people prefer CM7.
Did i missed something?
I'm curious too... Which one does the community feel it's better and why?

Alright let me rephrase then, from an objective standpoint (or as objective as anyone can be on matters like this) what are the pros and cons of each ROM (Say DarkSide and CM7), I know this would help a ton for me to decide which to choose personally.
The smoothest ROM I ever used, is CM7 the the 1.45 ghz kernel hands down. The blur ROMs can be smooth depending on the kernel or other modifications you use.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
I have been happier with TheDarkSide than CM7. CM7 gives some excellent benches but TDS seems snappier, I don't know. It takes longer to boot but I am quite all right with that.
Alright that sounds really good... it might come down to the flip of a coin for me then!
One last question that I didn't find featured in any of the instructions. For the Xperia X10, it was a bit of a nightmare having to mix and match kernels with the ROMs to make sure things worked properly (especially since the devs assumed you had the correct one or knew where to get it). I guess what I'm asking is, do the necessary kernel comes included with the ROMs as long as I have 4.5.91 (CM7 Ba2tF and TDS) or do I have to hunt down and flash different versions?

Faux's kernel is pretty standard, he has a Gingerbread version for any Blur based ROM out there, and a CM7 version for, well, CM7.
To decide wich Rom is best for you, you first have look at your usage of the phone!
If you use Webtop than CM7 is a no-go for you since it has none. If you don´t need or use all the blur-bloat and want a functional, highly customizeable Rom, then CM7 is the right choice.

i use CM7 with the 1.0 ghz enhanced kernel, and i get no lag between home screens. heavy widget user, almost all animations disabled though. i'm not a big fan of them, i don't need my phone to look fancy, i just want it to be a hub for all of my information.
honestly, i can't tell any difference between performance in a ROM like Aura or Darkside and CM7. at this point, it's just pure prefence. do you like Blur? go with Aura or Darkside. do you like AOSP and lots of ways to customize your phone? go with CM7
Thank you for your answer!
You use Scrollable Widgets like pure news widget or FB widget? the lags appear only when i use them.
and which launcher do you use?
