Hello everbody,
My girlfriend has a galaxy S2. Now she want to flash her phone to a custom rom.
Now we want some information what is good for a galaxy S2.
For the S1 i know what I need, but the S2 is new for me.
Who can tell me about this phone. Which kernel do i need and which rom is good with low battery drain?
Thanks in advance from both of us

Well, first of all you say flash a ROM to your phone, not flash your phone to a ROM.
That said, if you're looking for a close to stock experience, with a tweaked ROM you could try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312240 . It was released yesterday and was the merge of two ROM proyects, both which I tried and liked. SO you will go risk free with that one.
I personally am on CM7 and like it over anything but it's not based on samsung firmware so there is a downside. For example you have to renounce to all samsung apps like the samsung camera which is great and polaris office (which was really bad for me), but besides that it's all great. CM7 is fastest than any samsung based ROM, smoother, etc... Just a little bit harder to flash it for the first time.
Sorry, was not good english. I changed it.
I will look at that, I maybe found something else.
Is this a good, stable rom without much battery drain?

I really don't know about that one. Anyway, trying it cannot do any harm, maybe you find yourself with a great ROM.
Well you right. There are not so many roms for the S2. I hope some people with a S2 with custom rom can tell more about the roms and the kernels...
yes, it is a good rom but what kind of custom rom?
gives us what you are looking for and we can point you in the right direction.
Hello,
She is looking for a stable rom with low battery drain. She does not much with the phone. Sometimes little games, call, sms, whatsapp. She also like a nice design.
as the object which you think is the best ROM to install the P7500 3g?

Other than stock there are only 2 out, Overcome and Brood, It'll be down to your own preference but I use Overcome.
Hmm time to create another ROM then.
Just got mine
I am using overcome too but it has still some minor bug. I do feel that it is quicker than the touchwiz ... so it is still a good rom ..
perfect! I'll try almost Overcome ... waiting for some other more powerful ROM!! thx all
Overcome is nice and smooth, few things i would find are.
#some people might find the roboto font a tad difficult to read, but alterbridge has provided the original fonts,
#there is no overclocking, the pershoot kernel get a bit jittery if installed(some say the kernal fails to oc gt-p7500, but my antutu score shot up from 4600 to 6100 after installing pershoot's kernal, but i came back to the kernel that comes with ovecome rom as the tab was getting stuck at times with the pershoot kernel on )
#very quick responding developers, every doubt and bud is cleared within the day itself cheers to alterbrige69

I prefer stock with pershoots kernel, in ask its touch wiz glory!
Normally there is no best rom. It depence on your needs which rom the best is. Personally i use the overcom, because the ASOP theme possibilities. So possible you can take a look there. But also the task rom is very good.
At the end... what you need is what you flash
I rather wait for cm9.. now using stock + pershot [email protected]
Just got a TAB p7500 10.1
Rooted it, piece of cake
Now wich ROM would you advise me?
Goo-inside of the Task 14 revamped or BinDroid ..
& what kernel..
would like to have a stable Custom ROM with a great battery life..
any help would be nice

Careful here, task 14 is for WI-FI model only.
Try overcome that have two versions (for the 3g+wi and for the wifi only)
I now use overcome series but last time i try infamous it works great better than overcome imo after i realize that it does have 3g
Jamison said the 3g fix is on the way and it will come at this weekend so you can use his rom on p7500

Welcome to the club =)
I know you didn't ask it, but... For the laggy screen, i recommend ADW EX or another launcher and set it as your default launcher.
If you use overcome dont forget to use overclock kernel. It makes overcome super super smooth.
As for your consideration of overclocking making your tab not stable just install it but don't raise maximum cpu.
By the way is there anyone who use supercharger script at overcome rom?

Hi, i just got me a 3VO 3D but im a CyanogenMod person, sadly we dont have a stable ROM yet, ()i don't like sense at all but im stuck with it, ive tried senseless roms but that didn't do the trick either.
So i have decided to stay as stock as possible until CM7 Guys do their magic, =) i`m looking for a STOCK ROM with sprints bloatware removed and other tweaks to it like CIQ, being faster etc All I want a stock rom with the less unwanted programs and stuff to it, Sense itself its already taken so much out of this phone.
I have done my research but i would like to know other persons opinions, I also know that every person will like a different ROM because that's a personal choice but i would love to get some ideas on what ROM to flash.
Also wich kernel will work better with a ROM like this? because i will overclock until i see smoke coming out my speaker
Many thanks and God bless
Hello,
I have Sola for 6 months by now and it was a hell of a phone till i decided to upgrade to ICS. After that, my performance decreased signifcantly and I can't even do simple tasks. Tasks which a low end phone can do, even better then mine, such as the simple Galaxy Y S5360. And, yes, i get pissed when I look this phone behaving better then mine.
I tried to downgrade to GB, to upgrade to ICS, install a custom ROM of ICS and etc. Lately i tried Munjeni JellyBean, and after that, eXperience Innovation ROM. All of them have a good performance, but still, they do poorly then the Galaxy Y.
I miss my performance and i want to ask you guys, how the hell can i have my phone acting like a real dual-core phone?
Hope you guys can help me
Thanks

The jb roms are not really stable yet. You can try experience v2 rom which is ics based rom and then if you have an unlocked bootloader u can change kernels or even oc ur device. And also what di you mean by slower?
Sent from my MT27i
I mean that i can't even multitask with dolphin browser and some other app without having major slowliness in the phone. Or anything that my phone can possibly do (by his specs) and is not being able to do it. I have to uninstall Facebook app and Messenger app cause they crap the hell out of my phone.
Won't the GB experience would be faster/more efficient? Can't you guys reccomend me any "THE ****" rom for Sola? I mean...a kernel and a rom that can really bring me the experience of having a good phone (again).
Thanks

Ohh well yeah i think this rom was not really meant for multitasking though but i think this rom is better than the stock ics http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162832
How about you try that out too? And also i suggest the speedy kernel just search it and youll see that kernel. Good day

Thank you all for your answers.
I'm installing Speedy Sola v5.5 now and eXperienceâ„¢ v2...I will report in a few hours.
I've tried to install the kernel via CWM and my phone got stuck on the boot screen.
Tried with 2 SpeedySola kernels already (ICS and JB) and they do not work.
Just reporting.

Wait there is a kernel for the experience v2 included i the zip u fastboot that first and then u copy the kernel in sd then flash it via recovery. Or if you already do that try wiping data. Hope that helps

I ****ed up.
I was randomly installing kernels (dumb attitude) until my phone just can't run CWM anymore. Nor being at flashmode or fastboot @usb connection.
What the heck can i do?

Ohh I think u really be careful with kernels but try pressing power plus vol up button until it vibrates 3 times then try fastbooting again. Or try flashing stock ics again and start there

Hey!
I managed to flash the ICS stock from somewhere and it is kinda flying right now.
But i have a little feeling inside of me telling me that it will suck soon...so, i'm gonna give a chance to eXperience then.
Thanks and see ya

Root it and debloat it asap. It would fly on and won't get back to Earth then, I bet.
Back up always before doing stuff
Before even thinking about installing new roms, kernels, mods, tweaks.. anything be sure that you've backed up using recovery and have saved it not only on your phone but your pc also.. that way if anything f***s up, all you need to do is restore and your saved.
Okay, i need your guys help again.
My phone did great till now, but its kinda slow already. So, i want to upgrade the kernel/rom/whatever to make it fly again. Would you guys recommend me some updates?
I was thinking of "eXperience Innovation" or maybe "Ultimate Rom V11". Those roms will make my phone better? As i said previously, I just need my phone behaving like a dual-core powerful phone as it is.
Thanks :cyclops:
Install cm9 or cm10.1. best roms for our phones, hands down
I suggest that you must try project xvr rom, its more stable and really smooth, no problem with multitasking, etc.

Running on a Xperia Go, and I'm getting tired of struggling with my phone, stock firmware was incredibly slow and bloated, FXP Cyanogenmod 9 worked most of the time, when it didn't freeze or just turn off my phone, but now they stopped development.
FREACK's Cyanogenmod 11 works beautifully and fast, when the Wifi or network connection isn't going down 3 times a day
This is not a ***** thread though, I realise and respect the amount of work it takes to port a ROM to an unsupported device. All I'm asking is for a ROM that is not going to let me down, no freezing, working camera and video, working data and network connection, working Wifi, that doesn't lag to hell, GPS, etc. Example, a ROM for daily use.
I just want some feedback, what works for you? I don't need the latest greatest Android port (thought that would be nice) and I don't have time to install and test a new ROM every 2 weeks.
And some of you may ask, what is the 1% I don't care about working? well FM Radio, what is this, the 1950s?
Many thanks in Advance.
Maybe that explains why FXP gave up, this sub is dead...

Hi dude,
You could use the AOSX rom developed by wanxp, that thread is active and almost all the features are working except fm radio, wifi direct and music a2dp, this is the rom that I use atm cuz I hardly use radio and wifi direct.. in fact I've never used those features -.- You could also try Munjenis CM11, but then again the bluetooth fails sometimes! Even though it says that it works properly in the OP. It doesn't. Frankly, the BEST LAG FREE rom that I've come across is the CM9.1 rom! Unfortunately its not available for download anymore -.- and I deleted my backup of it after I ragequit after my Xperia Go broke and I started using my Note -.- But I managed to fix it and I'd like to use CM9.1 again.. Can you please upload it for everyone or PM it to me??

Thank you SO SO much! Haha I see you've decided to stick with CM9! Great choice! I only say that this is the best rom ever is because it doesn't start to lag over time and everything works great(except for radio.. but you can always download an app!) and gaming is great with no lags(I usually test with Despicable Me and Most Wanted2)! So thank you very much!
