Does data of phone wipes after flashing with custom kernel?

thanks!!!!!
is there any kernel which helps with battery life. I don't necessarily want a custom rom. any kernel which helps with battery life I would be interested. my rooted stock v.10c is running out of juice rather quickly and I am not yet using heavily. I am not too much into gaming or multimedia. 3g has to be on; as in my area 2g signal is worse than 3g.... go figure.
thanks
ash
i recommend u flash der_caveman's kernel and install and setup juice defender from market..I have done the same..Plus a tweaks like low brightness and powersave governor when screen is off(SetCPU) help
Hi all can i try flashing this kernel on my stock rom...This one seems nice..
[ROM] devoid.franco (franco.Kernel.v6: BFQ,BFS,smartass,lagfix,3D drivers +)
ive been on wolfs roms for ages and decided to change to oddies miui prime rom,ive used dooms kernels always but theres afew kernels to flash with the miui rom anybody know which one is best suited to save me flashin all three kernels and testing ...couldnt be bothered with battery drain and lags and so on feed back would be very much aprecited thanx...
Use the dkmod kernel as it is based on doom kernel , remember to flash the WiFi modules

Aaaa cheers for reply in buddy I saw the o kernel dkmod in oddies op didn't know it was dooms will flash..im currently using dooms v5a one but after letting rom settle for few days battery not up to much...
Which of the following ROM List most stable (I need stable than the Stock 2.1 ROM if it can) and fast :
- [ROM+KERNEL]X10MiniProTeam 0.5 + nAa Kernel
- [ROM] MiniCM7Pro - V21 FINAL + Stock Kernel / nAa Kernel
- [ROM] MiniCM7-2.1.9 Gingerbread 2.3.7/CM7.2 + nAa Kernel
I will be based on that for development this ROM Offical 2.3.7 from HERE
MiniCM7.
Like every other GB ROM, it does have memory issues. ICS gives plenty of memory, as much as stock, but its still in beta stage. MiniCM7 is the best we've got.
Yup, there's a lot of new ROM out there, but still got some bugs on it and likely something missing and we need to flash other zip file to fix it up. Most of the failure is about wifi connection, keybord light, force closed, network problem. This week I already used 3 rom. In the morning, I'm on prime HDv2 but right now, I'm using xmpteam rom v0.5.

Hmmm if u choose mini cm pro v21. U better use stock kernel rather than nAa kernel.. A lot of user's out there had theire touch screen not responding.

I suggest you to use as base MiniCM7 or PrimeHD.
I have been using MiniCM7 for a while now... I must say I have no complaints about it...
MiniCM7 by nAa.
MiniCM7Pro - V21 FINAL by paul-xxx , running on stock kernel. It's the best we've got until: V03 of paul-xxx's Ice Cream Sandwich rom with fully functioning in-built WiFi. I don't want to have to flash extra zip/s to get the WiFi working - I'll unlock my bootloader, change to a custom kernel and use paul-xxx's ICS rom as soon as the WiFi just works. Plain and simple. I can't wait until V03!
[ROM] ArcMini X Remake WiFi Fixed [Links Updated] [24/2/2012]
this rom i think is very good.
just an idea
why dont you focus on stable GB rom for stock kernel?take minicm7pro as a base..and perfect it more (yep this rom is perfect, but do it more)..so that, new user come here, see you rom, download, n flash..(ofcourse they must have recovery first )..this my reasons
1. we already had a lot of gb rom using custom kernel, n new active one is x10mpteam, they doing great, so why do you want to make another?
2. we only had a couple rom using stock..and for x10mini, i dont see latest gb rom for stock, myb im wrong but after you done, you can port for them too..
MiniCM7 from nAa, with this I have 65-70mb free ram
Kernel may have something to do with it though as im on nAa-11..

i suggest x10 MP teams ROm with its kernel I have 92 mb free in every minute i can say and its very stable and improved 3d graphics just relax when you have a team like X10 MP team
I remember saying that the x10 mini is way ahead of the big x10 xperia.
And someone said that it's not true.... it is... and we still are.
Looks at the amount of roms with fixed EGL adreno 200 lib's for x10 mini.

"there's only one and it's unstable...."
I Was using MiniCM7Pro - from v7 to FINAL v21, had a locked bootloader...then when MiniCM7 2.1.7 build showed up for our mini pros, I need to unlock Bootloader, and i did it with a lump in my throat, but all went great.. And it paid off. Thanks to Paul-xxx and nobodyAtAll for there invested time and great developing skills they have. Thanks guys!
Been running [ROM] GinTonic.SE | v2.5.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207740
ever since released, with standard kernel.
No problems for me, everything is working, but maybe the grass is greener on the newer ROMS ?

i was using that rom too, but since nAa ported his rom and kernel I immediately switched. gintonic is outdated and laggy compared to minicm7 2.1.9. but you must unlock bootloader and flash nAa kernel to get it working. back in the day it was longer process, and we had to do it manually, but today there are simple tools to do that easy and fast (unlocking bootloader).

Ive tried all those and a bunch more, this is definitely one the best I ever used, I do have 1 or 2 minor bugs but I workaround them.

It is a bit of a question of personal taste, but for me it still is MiniCM7-2.2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026) together with nAa Kernel. Everything works, it is fast and it is stable.
Guys what combination of rom and kernel do u most prefer for mni pro coz i been having a trial and error about this roms and kernel...tnx for the answers and explanation on why...
I am having the same issues. I find X Kernel gives the best battery life for Ginger Bread ROMs. I have yet to find a ROM that I am satisfied with. Currently I am running a rooted .62 and finding that to be the best balance. I have removed a bunch of apps based on the tutorial in this forum.
So far I've used the stock 4.0.4 ICS ROM with different kernels.
My most favorite kernels that were working are:
EXtended Stock Kernel - v2 4.1.B.0.431 (had a great battery usage... the most I got on-battery with this one was 22 hours with some light usage)
Rage Kernel v3.2 (i loved this one because of the swap and the ability to OC your CPU, but the battery performance was somewhat lower than the EXtended Stock Kernel - v2...)
You can always try the KRsH Kernel v3.0 but I didn't really like that one.
And currently I'm using the CM 9 RC1 ROM (check their official site) with FXP126 kernel and still testing the performance and stuff. So far I like this one more than all previous.
I hope this helps you out a little bit.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. And don't forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you a tiny bit
can you give me a link for tutorial for apps removing?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089470
This link has apps that can be safely removed from the Xperia Arc. I removed the same apps from the Mini Pro without issue. The apps can be removed using Titanium backup on a rooted device.

ICS ROMs are in my opinion still work in progress, buggy if you will.
KRsH kernel v3 is very good at battery consumption
For stability, speed etc I prefer GB ROMs though.
Like CM7.2RC3 + Rage kernel, or Spartan ROM if you like stock. Also on Rage.
In the end it depends what you like. There is no absolute best ROM or kernel.
everyone likes different things.

Thank You very much
how about the combination for gaming guys??? do u have any idea?
and if i am using ics wht should a choose?
ICS sucks.. Bravia doesn't work on my minipro if i dont use xperia gallery app
+1 .. IMHO i prefer to use GB than ICS for a better gaming performance..my current ROM is real ICS lite 29th june, and my kernel is Rage Kernel v3.2 (which i suggest you it's worth to try)..and when im playing some HD game it's still LAGGY (which is not laggy in my previous GB ROM) like Vlachmed said.. i choose this kernel because of its swap capability..i really wanna go back to GB but cant find my old ROM's thread.. (Hybrom V17) apparently the dev has left XdA (too bad)
sorry for my bad english and grammar..
Best Rom and Kernel
Personally I use Real ICS and the kernel is Rage Kernel v3.2 ICS and my phone runs very fast and smooth
Gingerbread
For Gingerbread you can try NeroDroid , and Rage Kernel 3.0
Hi,
I'm thinking about try a custom kernel on my phone but didn't find any comparison between the available options, so I tought it would be good to compile a list of pros and cons to help me and others to choose the best one based on our necessities.
So people with custom kernels, why are you using the kernel you are using??
There dont have the best kernel, only have better and better kernel.

xperia sspeed
hi i use xperia sspeed kernel. its very smooth ! dll currently not working for .elf file, but u can install a .zip over recovery
if you are game for experimenting.. go for speed kernel.. else go for advanced kernel.. xsx seemed a bit laggy to me.. i have tried all 3...
advanced kernel is stable.. no problem kernel... speed kernel v1 sent my phone into reboot loop.. went back to advanced... then v2 speed worked for me.. then advanced kernel 11 came along.. switched to that one as even though v2 was stable.. but battery life was not so good for me.. yet to try the v3.. probably today or tomorrow will try that..
