Slade, I have installed your CM6 Stock rom and flashed the multi touch files using xrec, as I have backed up my original stock rom and apps I would like to know if I am able to flash the multitouch files to the SE stock rom... Thanks in advance and would like to add that what you and dio did is remarkable!
i dont think there is an update .zip for stock rom but you can follow the instructions on the dualtouch thread to enable it
See on my tweaks Multitouch for all roms
I tried all methods in getting the dualtouch for the stockrom including insmod and adbshell and everyway possible but did not manage so opted to go for Slades CM6 Froyo... I backed up my original stock market as I have all the apps and messages saved on that and was really hoping to find an update zip compatible with the SE stock rom... I'm a little bit of a noob and really cannot get the insmod method working since its not permitting me to do so.

I have a stock vibrant which has 2.1 .. and if i decide to root it and install a custom ROM .. should i install a ROM which is based on 2.1 eclair??? Or can i install a 2.2 froyo custom rom on my stock 2.1?? please help.. Are the custom ROMS version specific.. eg - a 2.1 custom rom can only be installed on 2.1 stock rom??? i hope u guys get it thank you~~
i would if i was you lol , ,go froyo !
Yes you can install a custom rom based on android 2.2 /w flashplayer! May I suggest team whiskey 's Nero v5 w/tw....
sent from my "customized by nero" kick ass vibrant!
Yes you can go to any custom rom from any version. lots of info in the stickies for reference
I suggest 2.2 huge performance boost. Remember you can flash from 2.1 to 2.2, but must odin from 2.2 back to 2.1. Just a heads up
so to be simple.. what are the top 5 roms out there now.. i know its silly not to google it.. but there are a whole lot!!! cant choose !! and does anyone know if i will lose my unlock after installing a custom rom?? thank you!!

There isn't a list of the 'Top 5 Roms' because everyone has there own preference. I would recommend that you look around & install what catches your eye, if you don't like it.. Try something else.
wat about the unlock issue then?? will my phone get locked again if i install a rom??
I'm currently using the ewjet Rom with custom kernel which is really good. I miss/need the stock 2.1 (b.0.1?) Keyboard, browser and launcher system apks as i don't really like the ones that come with ewjet.
I'm currently away from my pc for a week and don't have any means of flashing the original 2.1b firmware to try and copy the apps. I'm not even sure if I have to use that specific firmware or would any other 2.1 apk work? I have actually googled all 3 apks but none work :-( is anyone able to help by attaching them or know what I can do. ThAnks

That's why it is important to back up before flashing onto a new ROM. Anyways here it is..
If I'm right, text input is the default android keyboard..
Hi there,
I'm currently running v6 stock of wolfbreaks ROM, however I would like try perhaps some of the custom versions.
Is this still a matter of simply downloading the ROM, then installing the .zip through xrecovery?
Thanks
no not mostly all needs to be flashed thru Flahstool and only few thru xrec...and u can go for either Dooms or Z's kernel there are lots out there but do remember to backup everythin !!
hope it helps
plz thank if it did!!

MiniCM7Pro will only run on the stock kernel, there was no need to unlock your bootloader, and most certainly not to install a custom kernel. Get back to stock kernel (I think there's a link provided for a kernel you can flash with flashtool) and then run MiniCM7Pro.

No, the order doesn't really matter, but your phone will only work if you pair the right kernel and the right rom together. The ROM post will state which kernel it will run on.
so for:
MiniCM7Pro - Stock Kernel
MiniCM7 - nAa-13 Gingerbread kernel
ArcMiniNxt - Just about every kernel
MiniCM9 - nAa-04 ICS kernel

Just about all roms that state they're based on CyanogenMod (CM) include App2SD by default, all you have to do it activate it in settings.
ArcMiniNxt is a Gingerbread ROM with a sony ericsson framework, so it will look and work a bit like the original firmware, but based on Gingerbread, and it will run on the stock kernel. It seems smooth and easy on battery-life.
MiniCM7 is sort of the 'default' ROM to go for if you want Android look-and-feel, it is further developed than MiniCM7Pro, but you will need the nAa-gingerbread kernel for it. It is also very smooth and fast.
Mind you, nothing is perfect, you can expect some problems with your keyboard layout and keyboard lights on all Gingerbread ROMS, but there are fixes for that if you care to search through the x10minipro development forum

i just installed MiniCM7Pro, rebooted the phone and its now stuck on that android motion logo :S is this normal?
edit: NVM it is normal ahha.. xD i now have it perfectly installed im in love with its interface. i now have to get use to it.
So, I'm a pretty average custom rom user of an x10a.
I've flashed and tweaked out with several gingerbread roms, without any issues.
Recently I found about the newer 4.1.2 roms for the x10 from late December. And I was wondering, 'cause I want to update to one of those, I understand that they're flashed in the same way 2.3 roms are. But, my xRecovery is the 3.0 gingerbread ready version. So I don't know if it will work at all after I've installed one of the Jelly Bean roms.
So I'm kindly asking anybody who knows on the forum if it will still work after I flash to 4.1.2. 'Cause I'm not certain which rom of the two I found is better for me. And I want to test them both out, but of that of course I'd need xRecovery working.
In short I'm just asking for a y/n answer on will xRecovery for the Xperia x10 work after I've installed a 4.1 custom rom, or will I have to go back to stock 2.3.3 and re-root and unlock my bootloader again?
Big thanks to anybody who replies This is the first post I made here, and probably the only one I'll never need.

copy your choice of rom, ics/jb into your sd card. install the appropriate kernel via flashtool. all ics/jb kernels includes CWM so you should have no problem installing these roms granted that you have unlocked bootloader.

Well, yeah, I know that, thanks ^^" but, I guess my post was too long for the question to be understandable. I was actually asking if xRecovery will still work fine After I've installed an ICS/JB rom. Surprised somebody replied so quickly o.o thanks.

Oh, oh, sorry! WOW, I need to focus when reading! I'm really sorry! Thanks for the help good to know. :good:
It can be done, but it depends on which kernel you flash.
Some kernels only contain CWM, while others contain xRecovery and CWM.
But you can always flash a kernel that has xRecovery (Like Doomkernel of ferkernel 3.6), and thus you have xRecovery.

Thank you, glad to see that the community here is always willing to help!
Tried both of the roms today, and it worked like a charm! Neat that I didn't know each kernel came with custom recovery images.
Thank you for the help Cheers mate!

Hi
Can flash ICS/JB rom using xrecovery in Doomkernel? Thanks
I'm not sure mate, I don't think Doomlord's kernel is compatible with anything but 2.3, but don't take my word on it.

What you must understand is that a Rom comes with some installation scripts. CWM and xRecovery will able or not to understand those scripts.
In order to be able to flash a ICS or JB rom from xRecovery it means that the rom has to been prepared to be flashed thanks to xRecovery.
The Recovery "manager" are provided with the kernels, so there shouldn't be anything to ask about xRecovery or CWM regarding Roms,
just flash the kernel that works with your rom and you'll get the correct recovery to install the ROM from.
The only exception is that on some phone, the CM10 kernel doesn't want to go into recovery before flashing CM10 Rom (happened to me when coming from stock gb), so you have to flash CM9 kernel, install CM10 rom and reflash CM10 kernel.
The question of xRecovery and CWM is more when you try to flash some libraries after the installation of the Rom.
So regarding this question, there's no ICS or JB roms (that I know of) that have a xRecovery scripts.
