1. rom install in this process VS Flash ROM 2.1.1.A.0.6 what is best method?
2. in former method, included baseband install process..
U20i 2.1.1.A.0.6 Baseband 015.7z
or
U20i 2.0.2.A.0.24 Baseband 006.7z
What files should I install?
3. non-overclock version occurs lack?
You should get the one with baseband 015 then you can install slade's ROM.

OK, thanks.
no answer to question number 1 & 3?
Oh sorry kinda skipped that hehe.
You have been answered here a couple mins ago so you might want to look at that too.
I'll quote here anyway

1. the best method is the flash method because you get all the updated baseband and kernel.
2. Just flash the rom to the recent one 2.1.1.A.0.6 baseband 015 because new rom that slade develop uses new baseband and FW 2.1.1.A.0.6
3. non overclock version just a standard with standard CPU on 600mhz and undervolted and overclock version is a CPU overclocked to 710mhz or upper via Cynogemod/Performance/CPU settings and also undervolted.
hope this will answer your question

1. I wouldn't know, I got my 2.1.1.A.0.6 update thru SE.
3. By lack you mean lag? If so I haven't encountered anything like that yet, maybe I haven't pushed my phone to the limit but it's been running really smooth for me on non-overclock version.

well i have a few basic questions i want to get answered from the knowledgeable people here:
1. i have x10i that came with the stock 1.6; to which rom version i should upgrade and how? using the official updates or download the latest rom from here? which rom will be able to be rooted so i can put Hebrew on it?
2. is there ANY way to cancel the home button for turning on the screen from standby? im used to my x1 that has ONLY the power button turns on the screen from standby.
3. which launcher is the best to install?
4. is installing the JIT really helps speed up the x10?
5. what settings and stuff to do and use in order to have the most optimized battery life?
6. how can i cancel the unlock sequence after i turn the screen on from standby?
well basically my question revolves about: what do i need to install in order for my x10 to run the fastest with the latest android while been rooted and have all the stuff im supposed to have in it?
THANKS in advance!

You need to flash with 2.1 version from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
then you can root with z4root and install busybox then go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885956
to get you the latest SE version if you have trouble understanding step 4 onwards check post 295 of the thread
If you download linpack from the market and run it on your current version it will retrun around 5 MFLOPS, I have jit with the latest version and it returns 34 MFLOPS so yes it is worth it.
Personal opinion Launcher Pro is the best one

ok so:
1. flash my x10i to X10i_2_0_A_0_504_GLOBAL
2. root my x10i with z4root and then install busybox
3. flash my rooted x10i 2.1 to X10i_2_0_2_A_0_24
4. after phone is updated and all, install and enable JIT.
thats all there is to it in order for my x10i to run the latest and fastest rom?

Basically yes but install xrecovery as well as that makes installing roms and backup / restore function so easy and securly save all your data and apps you do that between 2 and 3

i have nothing on the phone right now anyway but thanks for the help!
can you answer the other questions tho about the x10?
Hello everyone,
Today I have seen that there is a new Beta update at the Froyo rom.
Now I read "REQUIRES LATEST KERNEL AND BASEBAND 2.1.54 (shipped in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM)"
What I have to do now? Any explaination?
Flash, root & xrecovery instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733
Then follow Beta4 instructions.
I have found that beta 4 is eating my battery though. 10% per hour. I was using a third of that with Beta 3.
I going back to Beta 3 now.
i dont think we can use the above mentioned link for baseband update, check the reply by the author when someone had problem installing the freex10 beta4 in the same thread on page 2
rendeiro2005 said:
i wrote this so many times and you guys just don`t read, search, etc...
with this new FW you just CAN`T install anything through xRecovery! period.
so...if you want to install something, get rid of this FW install other, install xRecovery and voilá

2.1.54 is the latest baseband which comes with the 2.1.A.0.435 ROM (you even copied that on your first post ). Anyway, try reading this post by KULANV:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=3904
The steps he provided is easy to follow. I did mine the long way but that was before anyone posted the shorter way.
try this HOWTO, if you don't wanna mess something up!
well apparently I got a notification for a update on my phone :/
build number I have at the moment: 2.0.2.A.0.24 (the first dual-touch kernel i believe?)
Baseband: 2.0.49...
could this update be the actual global generic .435 update?
I havent tried to update yet, as im using the Eternity 2.1 and it's not for the current build number :/
could it really have been that slow for me to get the .435 update around to me? xD
it's a bit strange, as I didn't think it was possible when you flash to a different build, to recieve the updates anymore? Or is this a update for Japan as i think that where the Dual-Touch kernal came from?
and another question...
is it safe to run this update or is SE gonna brick my phone with this? xD
Obviously since Eternity is nothing more but a very-very-very customized 2.1 ROM which relies on Stock Firmware it's only logical to me that it will notify you for new updates!
Of course if you update you will go back to Sony-crap UI and applications and stuff so don't do it!
Regards,
mr_element.

No problem
Or you could just flash to 2.1 .435 and root it from flashtool 2.6. The new ROM is actually better and smoother, but it your choice
Yesterday i Got the same message.....Update available
Build No : 2.0.2.A.0.24
But after updating there is no change in build no...
It is same as before....Only thing is it re flashed...
.435 is the newest FW to my knowledge and Eternity is still running on the old firmware .24
The update is probably for the upgraded FW or just a random push for an update to some bug, who knows lol. I do know that jst about any time you update through SE you unroot your phone and more then likely will reinstall SE's ****ty UI.
I flashed the .435 FW and run Blue Sparks V5 wich is built on the .435 FW and it works great.
Use it when your baseband is 54+ and want to try out J's cm7 rom or rdannar's GB Miui rom or Arc rom.
Tested working on J016 and J017 and rdannar's GB Miui - for stock kernel only.
Do it at your own risk and it's not supported by J
Patch it with cm7bb54.zip
Restore back the original with cm7bb52.zip (if you decide to change base band)
This patch won't solve any problem that may come with the rom (such as wlod)
Note: This patch won't work on Trip's GB Miui
pls hit Thanks button if it helps you
I want to make sure I got this all correct:
1. If on bb.54+, flash cm7bb54.zip to patch/use cm7
2. If previously flashed to bb.52, flash cm7bb52.zip to go back to bb.54+
Would I have to flash each zip file every time I want to go back and forth between each rom?
Thanks cobrato!
1.correct
2. only if you decide to flash bb52 again(for any reason) and still want to use cm7 flash cm7bb52.zip
no. if you are flashing a new rom which requires bb54 and you are on bb54 then no need to flash this zip.
Can use this patch for bb.55 ?
I finally gave in and left FreeX10 to test out CM7.
It feels pretty stable but there's some issues I sense still need tweaking and I'll post after I'm done here.
QQ; what improvements have you sensed using .54 over .52, both in general and with CM7?
Personally i don't think there are any improvements. But some people just want a higher number. In fact some of the functions in .54 are broken like auto-time settings.

Not correct.....
If you are in north america .49/.52 causes many issues, especially when it comes to dropped calls , failed text messages and slow 3g+ speeds.
On .55 the failed text issue is fixed completely, I get much better call signal and faster 3g+.

Not without the new kernel, the only way it is possible is if the bootloader gets unlocked

Your usb port, or usb cable?
You can't install the kernel needed for GB without flashtool.
So if your usb port is broken, maybe look on ebay for spare parts to fix it.
If your usb cable is broken, buy a new one.
Good luck
sorry but how do i apply this patch? i'm on BB54 with a broken usb connector
i guess this might be (all steps via xrecovery)
1.- install patch
2.- install 2.3.3 rom (any rom available)
3.- install custom kernel (zKernel might be)
is this correct?
thanks in advance

I've always wondered this too. I'm no developer and also have no idea how it works. But I always wondered why they never developed for the newer basebands. Is it harder or something?
Just out of curiosity.
I really don't understand why still so many people asking in the wrong section....the search function the most powerful tool here...I always find my answers by using it.....

Please don't just request a ROM and a special kernel on a special baseband.
The devs here are GODS and when they develop af kernel that works on a specific baseband I am sure they will release it here
ATM I am on Wolfbreaks Froyo with stock kernel and it work flawlessly.

baseband 49 gives better radio and signal is always strong.
baseband 58 eats alot of battery and doesnt give good stability for custom roms.

i know the Dev here are gods, it is just a question, i search everytime, my questen is just why you use only bb.49 oder .54 but not .58?
The kernels that are being developed are only working on basebands .49 and .52 if it was possible for them to get the kernels working on .54 .55 and .58 it would be big news
I'm sure no one is bothered really as it takes 2 mins Max to flash a new baseband
So no offence buddy but be patient, it may never come at all or maybe when 2.3.3 comes but who cares as long as we can use them in general
And please next time post in Q&A
