Hello everyone, so to start off i have a one question:
1)how much is a used ( perfect condition ) xperia x10 worth? ( with all accesories )
and what phone would you reccomend for me, between the price range of selling me my x10 and extra +60Euros?
I'm thinking of ''Meizu M9'', ''Samsung Galaxy S'', ''Htc Inspire'' and ''HTC Desire S''.
what would you reccomend me?
Oh and before i forget, how do i know if my phone is locked or not? ( i have a x10i )
Thanks!
I would suggest one of the dual cored phones with 4g. I have heard they are super fast. The atrix, Samsung galaxy 2 or the T-Mobile g2x

yes, but they're twice as expensive as the x10!
nvm, already found, what i was looking for http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9003_galaxy_sl-3761.php
Yea, the SGS i9000 is pretty good.
My mom has one and it is already so quick and responsive even on the stock rom =D
Not to mention that the screen is awesome as well.
Apart from that, it is fully customizable if you are into that kind of stuff.

Why N1, Nexus S is available and better,
or Sony Ericsson Xperia ARC ( release date: April )
Nexus one is an awsome device.. I own one
But it has the same touch screen capability as X10 ---- > Dual touch
Considering the timely updates you get with nexus one... I think it is best bet.
I would recommend Nexus S
Well i bought a nexus one from google when they were available and it wasnt to long before i got rid of it for the X10 and havent regretted it yet.
Thats my thoughts.

how would you judge the two phones when it comes to the x10's 8megpix ??
xperia x10 with the all modifications.. same as Nexus S..
I wouldn't recommend nexus one because you are just exchanging for a pure Google experience product. Megapixel doesn't determine picture quality. Its all about the lens, sensor, and image processing software. Pix quality of course x10 is better than nexus one.
Go for nexus S or wait longer for dual core devices. X10 doesn't have Froyo and Nexus S's hardware doesn't perform as good as the hummingbird CPU in Nexus S.

Motorola Atrix
How long have you have your X10? I wouldn't change it before "squeezing" all its potential.
My advise: keep it at least one more half of a year, and then start looking for your next phone. Now, if you can't wait and if you wish to keep in SE's line, Arc is your option, but for me, is not a great phone, I only remark the Bravia Displa, Gingerbread and the HDMI plug-in, anything else is not a big deal.
Or Nexus S.
hey guys... thanks a lottt...
ive been using the x1 only fr about a few months..
tried out most of the roms out there
guys.. but dont you think the nexus one is worth it ?? its htc after all
plus... the AMOLED.. n when it comes to updates ????
comments pls
Correct me if i am wrong, but i remember nexus one have an exact same proc with x10, which mean it's not actually an upgrade if you change your x10 into a nexus one. The only better thing is RAM. --in terms of hardware.
If I where you, I'd try and remember why you bought the X10 in the first place. I mean, the Nexus One was already available when you bought your X10, so obviously it has some qualities that made you choose it in the first place. I am guessing it was the look of the device, and the camera, right? Those are the X10's biggest distinguishing features, so I would like for another Android device that comes close to those.
As far as camera is concerned, there probably is no better Android available yet. Maybe the Samsung Galaxy S is the next best thing in this regard?
As far as looks is concerned, nothing really comes close yet, in my opinion. Although I really like the way the HTC Desire Z looks for some reason (and I don't normally like HTC designs, too boring).
But why are we even talking about these old phones? Next month it's time for the Mobile World Congress 2011, during with numerous new Android phones will be introduced and some will even be released by then, with brand new hardware like dual core processors and new versions of Android that will make our current phones look really outdated. Right now seems like a bad time to switch to another phone: I would wait for just a little while longer.

no need to get N1, its the same gen as X10
if u want the best current gen phone then get HTC Desire HD / HTC Desire Z
the dual core phones will take a bit of time (3+ months) to come to market...
The Nexus One is ugly.
Stay with the X10 until dual core phones come out.

Honestly, it doesnt even seem like a question to me. Especially with the new roms that are wiping the floor with the other current gen phones. Just sayin.

If one is a color purist like me, then the AMOLED screens are a DISADVANTAGE, actually. And it's going to stay that way until a new-gen AMOLED arrives which doesn't mess with the saturations.
Hey guys, first of all i want to thank all the developers for they help to make my x10 great. I dont know if I am writing on the correct place.. but whatever, i own a white xperia x10 and i want to change my phone and i am between Xperia x10 arc and Nexus S.. I dont know wich one to choose and wich one is better .. Which u think is better and why ? thanks
Id go for the arc, looks al lot better. And with the unlocked bootloader its got a nice future in terms of modding.
I'd agree, the Arc looks a lot better but out of the avaliable ROMs out there rdannar is coming up leaps and bounds.
He's doing a great ROM as part of X10Project that uses 2.3.4 and is based on the Nexus, but it easy to add the Arc filles that are dotted around through here using xrec like I ended up doing.
Arc for sure! And im not just saying that to be a SE fanboy. But if its possible, look at the galaxy s2 as well. Ive been looking at it more closely lately....and its got that "WOW" factor!

Believe me, it will be worth the wait to go with a dual core phone... The cpu in the arc will be outdated very shortly, better to go with a phone with some lasting power
+1 for sg2 although it hasn't got style but it's got substance, it's the opposite for Arc
Yeah im kinnda with you on this one arc as far as the looks go but s2 for its power (dual core nd all of that)

Hi guys,
This is a thread where u can post about :-
- the the first android phone u ever used
- What all versions of android u have gone through
- Features u miss currently on your droid....
- Any special thing or event associated with your first droid..
It will be fun to know who all r loyal followers of android...
My first android phone was Spice MI-300..
I had used android since donut i.e android 1.6, eclair, froyo, gingerbread, n ICS (thanks to lupo)
Its really a big improvement considering from where android started and its getting better n better...
My first is O1
From froyo to GB to ICS
Mine was LG 500 with froyo 2.1
mine is LG P500 with 2.2 froyo. I miss the good ol' stable froyo days but current cm7.2 and oxygen are up to mark(still missing the awesome stock LG camera app, but I can do without it )
First android: Optimus one, with Froyo.
Gone through Froyo, Gingerbread and ICS.
Not missing much. Hardly use the camera. Having the Wi-Fi hotspot working in ICS would have been nice.
Currently have my eyes on Huawei Honor. The specs look nice. I'm pretty sure devs will wreak havoc with this one once they get their hands on it.

Yup around 2yrs ago i got myself Spice Mi-300.. i bought spice coz at that time it was the best Android Phone at the budget of 10K while htc tattoo with 528Mhz costed about 14000... Mi-300 had pretty much same specs as of O1 just less RAM n a smaller battery but it boasted a 5MP camera with flash... I miss that sometimes though
I switched to O1 coz it was certain that it will be upgraded to GB and 512 MB RAM
Spice Mi-300 was shipped with Donut and as that was my first smart phone i was just too amazed to see how android worked...just too smooth n fluid even on donut, then after 2-3 months as promised by the company it got upgraded to Eclair and i got first look of live wallpapers
I even rooted that phone but i was too Noob at that time, I flashed a rooted custom firmware and all worked fine..
Then i got to know about cyanogenmod and found out that Mi-300 was one of the variant of Commtiva z71, at that time froyo was very new so it was not that stable, but i didnt read that n flashed, i started getting random reboots and also camera didn't worked.
Then i got a patch for camera but didn't knew that it was to be flashed to recovery, so i just extracted it and placed the files at respective places and the outcome was it never booted again..
I gave that to service center and after abt 20 days they fixed and gave me back..
After that i sold that n bought O1 n decided never to mess with my phone again ....but here i am flashing all possible things on Tiny O1 ..
Looking back really makes me feel what a noob i was..
LG O1

MIUI is based on ICS too...
T-mobile G1, cupcake than donut. I used earlier versions of cyanogenmod.. I also developed with hazardxops on HTC sense UI ports but it was never complete.... back than I used androidspin.com and androidcentral.com. G1 was the US's very first phone to run android... when the nexus one came out, everyone wanted one.. developing on g1 was easier, HTC has always been good at releasing drivers

Buy a Nexus S! This is ATRIX forum!

lol
I was just looking so what was the closest rom to stock gingerbread
Pulled the trigger, I get the Atrix on friday.
It started out as a T-Mobile UK, currently have unlocked running atrix neutrino ee 2.7
In Amazon the Unlocked International Atrix 4g are cheap! and i am thinking buy one of those... but the international version can get the us rom? for a possible update of ics? and 220$ are my budget.... so i think is the best one at that range... if you want to Recommend another android phone in that range, i will highly appreciate it, Thanks, is my first Android Phone leaving Blackberry
Don't do that, its better to buy pantech burst its selling on ebay for around 100$ brand new and will have ics soon.
You should be able to get an Atrix for around 150$ US iirc. Excellent phone, but, there's no guarantee of a fully working ICS Rom.
BUT, you can get the lapdock for around 60$, and that makes the phone/dock combo awesome value.

If you want to get stuck to Gingerbread for eternity, buy it.
If you want newer version of Android, buy from another manufacturer. :good:

I have the xperia U which is 10x smoother than my atrix (which i sold for 333$ !!!!!) and ICS rollout started today for xpu !
I just bought it and love it. Would having ICS or Jelly Bean be desirable? Yes. But 98% of the apps I would want on my phone are available for gingerbread too. If you really want ICS or JB, you can always root it and flash a custom ROM. I tried to do that, it didn't work out well for me but seems to work well for plenty of others.
There are no fully functional ICS/JB ROMs.

You should never buy any motorola product, they have the worst software team, the firmware lags a lot, and you will never get updates, they promisse but they do not deliver.
