I have installed real football 3.0.6 on archos 70, I can successully start the game.
Unfortunately, the apk it designed for galaxy tab. The resolution is not 800x480, any expertise can help to make it available in archos 70?
We have a big gameloft games testing thread here
But at the moment we just have 2 A101 testers .. (me and wokker666)
If you want to you could become a A70 tester and help others
You can find all informations in the thread
Hi, I currently own an Archos 5 IT.
Looking to upgrade to a bigger tablet (10'').
The Archos 101 is on sale right now over here. Question is, should I just grab the 101 or just wait for 101 G9 to be released?
PS: Can you play games from your Archos 101 and view them on TV via HDMI?
wowowowoowowoww
I GOT A BLUE CAR AT THE MOMENT ? SHOULD I GET A BLACK ONE? WILL IT BE FASTER THEN MY OLD? CAN I SEE PEOPLE IN MY BACKMIRROR THEN?
no offense guy - but did u ever think of:
1. there are about 10 threads about gen9 already....
2. DID U READ ANY OF THEM?
3. How should we help u with your decision if u don't tell what u wanna do with it exactly?
To your only real question: playing "games" over hdmi (even u dont mention gen8 or gen9)
gen8: yes and no - should be possible but there is no screen mirroring on the gen8 101 -> u just see the image on the tv + got a mouse like pointer and 101 as touchpad -> mouse controled games
gen9: they got mirroring as far as i know...
BUT for both is said the display output over hdmi is "lagging" a bit in this scenario - watch some yourtube for seeing it...
By the way, how to scroll the A70IT screen down when using HDMI? When I get into file management, I slide both left and right side of the A70IT but can not scroll down to screen. Is there anything I did wrongly? Thank
Hi guys,
I have recently purchased a sumvision nano slim plus. I installed the neon build of xbmc but when I put a video on it stutters. I also tried the non neon build and I had the same results. Is there a specific apk I should be using or any settings I should adjust so it corrects the issue? Btw I am on gingerbread 2.3
Use Pivos ROM instead

I have this box and found the same problem when using any flavour of the XBMC for Android APK. To solve this, I have reflashed the device with the Pivos XBMC rom - follow the instructions on the Pivos forum (search for Official Pivos XBMC Linux port (Beta Release 100912)). It works really well - smooth HD video, quick to start up, etc. Only downside is that the device is no longer running Android (so no Angry Birds)!

Thinking of buying one of these. Is it a good alternative to the Apple TV 2? Is it as good or better? Can it get the same add ons etc. new to these devices and been trying to find an ATV2 but hard to come by.
I've not used Apple TV 2, but if you are looking for some hardware to put XBMC on then I imagine that they are pretty equivalent: small hardware, similar specs, low power consumption, few connections etc. The remote is different: the Apple TV remote has about 7 buttons whereas the Sumvision Cyclone Nano comes with a remote that has a full keyboard and a Wii-style mouse pointer (which is great!)
XBMC runs really well on the Sumvision - faultless playback of 720p HD MKV videos stored on my home server streaming across my (wired) home network. I've only tested the YouTube add on to XBMC and not been able to get this to work, but this is not important to me.
The unit comes pre-installed with Android 2.3. I had a play around with this before I reflashed it to XBMC only, and its surprisingly usable. The web browser is excellent and Angry Birds, Cut The Rope and Fruit Ninja were all very playable with the mouse remote.
In summary I would definitely go for this box - there is an active community out there that are constantly releasing new ROMs with increased functionality and stability ... and you don't have to give any more money to Apple!
Hope that helps. :good:

Thanks for that, I ordered one last night from ebuyer for 70 quid which is a better price than the atv2 and I would not use the apple features. I only want the xbmc stuff so will put the Linux xbmc from pivos as you suggest. Looks a very interesting box and so much cheaper than buying a smart tv. Some of the add ons look great too. I like messing too so should be fun lol.
£70?! Good price. Hope you enjoy using it. The Pivos forums are a great place to start for help and tips.
Wouldn't it be better to install the openelec xbmcrun rather than the pivos rom because (Im assuming) the openelec would be more compatible with xbmc addons
There is no specific OpenElec build for the Pivos/Sumvision Nano, so they will not be optimised to the specific chipset. The Pivos ROM development is ongoing so I would have thought the compatibility with add ons will improve.
As an aside, I just tried the CollegeHumor add on using the Sumvision Nano box with the Pivos Linux XBMC ROM and it works perfectly.
After using it a few days I can see this will just keep getting better with future software releases since its in beta at the moment. It works well when it's working. It freezes when it hits a dead link but a quick restart sorts it. Can't go wrong for the money. I am sure a media pc will be better but will also cost much more.
I've tried everything now, to get xbmc linux installed on this box.
The latest Pivos beta gives a status 7 error on flashing, and the beta before that one (the august release) gives a black screen on boot.
What's the secret to installing the firmware?

I have the same status 7 error on my sumvision box too. Can anyone confirm which build works? My box is the 1gig model, not sure if that makes a difference.

Mine is the 1gb model too, and i was actually considering if that was the problem myself.
It seems very likely
I pretty much tried everything now, and will probably return it to the seller, even though it'll cost me 18£ in shipping costs.
The seller did state that the box was the 512mb version, despite it being the 1gb version.

I also have the 1GB version and have been unsuccessful in installing the xbmc linux version. I get the same error code too.
There's a link on the sumvision website to a xbmc apk which I'm going to try out now. I think it's an android version and not a linux version though (link:http://www.sum-vision.co.uk/productinfo/nano/nano_support.asp)
Hi guys
The 1 gig model uses different firmware than the 512mb models, so the xbmc linux version will not work at the moment, pivos are the main guys who bring the linux version out, so i guess we will have to wait untill they release one compatable with the 1 gig version (somone may correct me on this), but i dont think pivos have a 1gig xios bo out there yet..
As far as i know the 1gig model is M3 version, whilst the 512mb are the M1 version.
Must admit tho, i have xbmc apk version running on my new 1gig nano, and its has quick as the linux version,
Will be rapid tho when linux xbmc can be applied to it.
Hope that helps
I tried installed the Linux XBMC on my 512mb Nano which works perfectly however I cant select WIFI in the system settings. Has anyone got it working or has the driver not been installed with the firmware?
Hi
Hi All
Updated...
I have flashed the Sumvision Nano Slim + M3 1GB version with the Linux XBMC...
I can confirm... it is working.. along with the remote...and all the other things.
It is simply just a XBMC and nothing else.
I will however state, that playback over a 1gb Netowrk...from a NAS... on full 1080p converted files from Blu-ray (using Blu-ray to MKV tools) ...it has the same struggles as my Media Centre does.
It is still struggling...and every now and again.. it shudders the picture.
However, before someone points at the NAS....or network... I have a Sumvision Cyclone HD2 ...and this plays the same file... 100% perfect with zero issues over the same network
I have tested the Media Centre PC with the file local...and even tried a Mac Mini with its i7 and Intel 4000 to play the same file... I had CPU of 5-10%...and still shuddered...
Again... playback on the HD2 Cyclone.. 100% every time.
I can say.. the NANO... with the Linux rom....and just XBMC...may well suit 9/10 of you... but if you are after the perfect playback...then HD2...(as I haven't come across something it cannot handle)
The only issue...is the archaic and Windows 3.1 look to the Menu and Gui of the HD2.
If someone had a Firmware that would Make the HD2 look better.... it would be the perfect box.
The Nano falls short...and could be down to it just not being "man enough" to do the hard work on the 1080p 12 GB mkv over the network.

So what rom did you use or what modifications did you make? Any chance you could give us some more info on how you managed to get bare XBMC on Cyclone Nano 1GB, I've tried for hours but can't get it to install so any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
a bit late i think but google is your best friend.
Try searching for xbmchub sumvision and you should find all the relevant info there to upgrade your android to the latest version before you try to flash the linux xbmc to the sumvision cyclone nano + (both M1 & M3 devices).
I myself just got one and had it updated and xbmc linux installed in less than 30 mins. I am now watching life of PI in hd with no stuttering or lagging and full screen.. Sweet
XBMC Linux port for Sumvision Nano Slim Mx Dual core?
Does anyone know the status of the Linux port of XBMC on the Mx boxes (not the M1 or M3) but the Mx Dual Core?
I really want to get away from a slow version of XBMC for android and flash the box with linux.
Anyone that can point me in the direction of a linux only for this boxinstead of android so I can download and install xbmc for linuxalso would be helpful... Anyone?

Thread moved.
Yea sorry about that..
I now have a new problem, the 5 point capacitive touchscreen no longer works either.. this is a real mess and I do NOT have the stock rom image.
it was on on of my flash drives that I formatted by mistake.
The tablet is a AGPTek TP12A. I'm all up for a factory rom (if you got or can find one.), or some help here to get this thing working again. Its supposed to be my son's Xmas present. And I'm freeking out.. Its got CM9 on it now, size is STILL messed up. 7inch's used on a 10 inch tablet.
No touchscreen either..
I've gone through about 30 images testing out if one works better. How do I fix this in time for Xmas??
Hi all!
I have Archos 101 Childpad with android 4.2.2 that is slow and sluggish.
Does anyone know if there is a official android upgrade for this tablet, or is it so old it's time for the trash bin?
It's mainly going to be used by my 3 year old son, so simple games and youtube viewing is going to be installed on it.
I don't need the songs/bear functionality it came with, so any newer android version that will run on it (without killing it's performance) is appreciated.
I tried to look at Archos home page, but I couldn't even find the childpad model listed on the page anymore.
I have no idea which gen (8,9,10,???) this tablet is, but I hope I posted this in the correct forum.
Thanks in advance!
Regards
