Can someone please post the codes for changing the volume on speaker and headphones.
Just finding the volume too low (on headphones) compared to Nokia and LG. Or maybe i'm going deaf.
Was gono ask the same question as well cause I can barely hear when talking to someone, so would appreciate anyways to increase volume. Sorry to highjack your thread, but am sure we are after the same solution.
Here you go, its at the bottom of the page:

Your a star.. Thanks man..
just one quick question.. Could this be used to increase overall system volume ??
can anyone confirm if this increases the volume of a call using the headset, not just the phone's internal speaker? i'd assume it controls all output sources, no?

I think there are multiple options
Code:
1 RCV config
2 EAR config <----- Earphone
3 SPK config <----- Speaker
4 BTH config

I don't think so .... I have tried many combinations and nothing seems to work. It all resets back to default anyway when the phone is rebooted. Previous older Symbian models saved the settings (i8910) but the Android handsets have a different subsystem.
I guess we must wait for a custom kernel and some Supercurio voodoo mods.

Hey guys,
Running into an issue trying to increase the volume.
After i do these steps
Dialer *#*#197328640#*#*
[5] AUDIO
I get stuck on a screen saying
"CAUTION!!!
Menu being blocked"
Anyone have any ideas? My phone is unlocked and rooted.
Cheers
Colin
Even with the 'menu blocked ' continue using key input option and you should be through. Hope this helps.

Been looking all over and can't really find any info (even in the vibrant bible or dev section) about how to use HAC mode. I found the following instructions on how to set my volume at max (100) using HAC mode, but I am specifically wanting to know if and how to save it at that setting, since when I reboot my phone it resets... also is there anyway to increase the "in call" volume through the ear phone to max? if so, how? Thanks

It will reset after a reboot so be sure to run through it again if you wish to increase the volume level again. There isn’t enough testing done or reports at this time to tell if moving the volume past 88 will damage or blow out your speaker. So as usual if this mod blows out your speaker you are using at your own risk.
There is an option for hac mode under call settings
There was a thread on this. If I remember correctly 100 is a no no. Increase by twos and check it. It might pop up if you search volume, handset volume.
using HAC is kinda pointless unless u are using a hearing aid. HAC stands for hearing aid compatible.
well i wanted to know how to increase my external speaker volume, not the earpiece volume... already figured that out (via the above info) and it works well. it works great even if u don't have a hearing aid, due to just increasing the volume.
Hi:
YIPPEE!! I got my new Galaxy S2 today
I have been searching, and I found a site detailing how to increase the volume on the Galaxy S2. It is very similar to how it was done on the Captivate.
A) Enter service mode by typing below code on your dialer :
*#*#197328640#*#*
click the following:
[5] AUDIO
[1] NB (VOICE CALL)
Choose Handset, headset, Speaker (which ever you want higher volume)
[1] VOLUME
[1] SRC Speech RX Volume
Change default values and higher the values any number of your choosing, here is an example:
[0]0_lvl : 68
[1]1_lvl : 72
[2]2_lvl : 76
[3]3_lvl : 80
[4]4_lvl : 84
[5]5_lvl : 88 Higher these values to until hear volume improvement.
My problem is, I can not get it to go to the Audio section. I have tried clicking on line 5, as well as going to Menu, then selecting "Select", and entering line 5.
Neither does anything, it stays on Main Menu. If I try to select any of the other lines, it does take me to the appropriate screens.
Any ideas?
I really need to increase the speaker and headset volumes.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hi there
Recently upgraded my galaxy ace to gingerbread using Kies, loved the upgrade except for one thing. The sound levels coming out of the speaker are greatly increased and distorted at the highest volumes. this applies to the startup sound, ringtones and mp3 playback.
in order to get a decent volume which doesn't distort when using the phone over an external speaker system (car or home stereo) i had to turn the device volume down and the stereo volume up so loud that when data comes to the phone the noise is unacceptable.
I have since bricked my phone through unrelated stupidity and received a replacement which has Froyo. I would like to upgrade to gingerbread, but not if the sound is messed up like before.
has anyone else experienced these sound level issues after upgrading? and is there a way to avoid them or at least rectify them?
thanks in advance

Thanks Guys
I'm thinking it must be a ROM thing and not something adjustable with an app, mainly because the start up jingle was at least twice as loud.
been doing various google searches and finally came up with a link (which I'm not allowed to post yet) which shows how to use service mode to change volume levels, So I'll probably give it a go and try this if it reoccurs.
I'll let you know how i get on

[2]2_lvl : 76
[3]3_lvl : 80
[4]4_lvl : 84
[5]5_lvl : 88 Higher these values of u want louder xD volume improvement.
Can also edit the values from:
[2]DST I2S1 TX Volume
[3]SRC I2S1 RX Volume: 100
[4]DST Speech TX Volume: 94
Just select a normal lvl if anything is wrong, hope it help you

thanks for that, thats pretty much the information I found on google with the exception of the values you've given, so thanks for that.
Since posting, I've successfully upgraded to gingerbread with no volume issues. I have checked the service menu regardless and strangely the audio menu isn't accessible now , when it was beforehand.
Thanks again
Love the phone, all and everything about it EXCEPT the in call volume. When talking on the phone i raise my volume rocker to the MAX and does not make much noticiable difference. Ive done a lot of search and researching but nothing seems to work. I've tried rasing the media volume as well as this liittle work around which does NOT seem to work witht he AT&T version of the GS2 for option #5 Audio:
•Enter this number *#*#197328640#*#*
•This will open the service mode menu.
•Select option [5] AUDIO•Select option [1] (VOICE CALL) *EDIT* -> DOES NOT WORK ON AT&T GS2?
•Select option [2] HEADSET
•Select option [1] Volume
•Select option [1] SRC Speech RX Volume
•Select option [5] 5_lvl : 87
•Press the menu button (left side)
•Choose Key Input
•Enter a value between 0 and 100, with 100 the loudest setting.
•Press ok
•Then press the menu button and select back this will save (don't use the right side back key you normally use to navigate the phone or you will quit out of the settings).
•Keep selecting the menu and back until you exit the service mode menu.
You will also note you can change volume settings for other things like Bluetooth, handsets, video call etc.
Anyone experience same/similar issue and found a work around for it? Will getting a new/replacement phone help at all?
not to throw this off topic but when I received a call last week I was listening to music from either pandora, beta music player, or just the music player and when the call came in I answered the call and the music didn't stop and kept playing as I tried to talk to the person on the other end I finally had to end the call quickly,

Try AudioBoost SGS2 from the market It will definitely makes a difference. You can control the amount boosted. Too high you will experience distortion.
Service Mode Not Working on ATT GS2
I have the same problem with my ATT GSII. Earpiece volume is not enough even on maximum volume. And the SERVICE MODE does not seem to function properly. Did you find any solution?
Try Voodoo LOUDER - works good on rooted i777. Boosts just enough to make the difference.

Thanks. Tried it on my rooted stock ROM (i777). It does change the headphone volume, but not the handset volume itself (which was actually more important for me ).
Hi,
I have the same problem but my phone doesn't recognize the code. It says invalid number or code. How can I fix
Hey all,
I've been looking for this problem now for a few days @ google / xda but i couldn't found a solution.
Things i've already tried.
Apps: Audio booster, Volume + DSP Manager.
Servicemenu:
call this number *#*#197328640#*#*
This will open the service mode menu.
choose option [5] AUDIO
choose option [1] (VOICE CALL)
choose option [2] HEADSET
choose option [1] Volume
choose option [1] SRC Speech RX Volume
choose option [5] 5_lvl : 87
press the menu button (left side)
choose Key Input
enter a value between 0 and 100, I choose 100 the loudest setting.
press ok
The problem is with the servicemenu.
I can select everything but when i reach the step:
5_lvl: 88 i get the following things on-screen:
-NB_Handset-
SRC Speech RX Volume(DEC)
Input?
Whenever i press the menu button i don't get the white popup bar where i could edit the volume lvls, it just shakes like when i usually click on the menubutton but nothing happends really it just trills not more.
I tryed pushing "Input?" first then the menu button but nothing really happends.
Tried everything.
Is there someone with this same problem or with some tips or tricks??
Using:
Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100)
Cyanogenmod 7 (3.2.7)
If no-one has some ideas i will try a new ROM.
Using CheckRom Revo HD 4 (2.3.6), Siyah Kernel 2.6.5 and DSP Manager audio is loud enough. Using Supercurio's louder, audio volume is TOO loud.
But, what headphones are you using ? Stock or something else ?
I'm using some Gear4 headphones what i also used on my iphone.
tried it with sennheiser/creative/dre headphones all the same volume
what do you suggest to do? audio is quite important for my training, traveling.
level increase
after pressing level 5 you should get input ??? show up on screen. Press the button on the left hand side of phone, not menu or back button. You should get a pop up screen with various options, touch the key input option and then you input the volume you want to increase to e.g 100. then exit.
thats what i do and it works for me.
