I very much doubt you will be able to buy a dev/test phone from any authorized retailer.
I don't see why anyone would get a dev/test phone unless it somehow, accidentally got into a batch of Retail phones...........
Chances are if you don't already know then it isn't a dev phone.

Well I say for sure rooting will not unlock the network on the x10... So as geordie 34 said, you will need to buy an unlocking code to use with T-mobile...
Hope to help.

You do know that AT&T and T-Mobile do not use the same frequencies right?
On T-Mobile with her AT&T X10a your girlfriend will only get GSM and Edge (2G) speeds.
Not sure how your networks work in us

But do i have to flash the whole thing or just flash the speedfix? i have speedfix v3.0....
sorry for the noob question
On wb thread it tells you to flash the Rom then the fix you best thing to do is do a back up of your current Rom then flash the fix if anything goes wrong then you will have your back up then you can flash everything if needs be

Although the 3 handsets are branded ROMs, I don't think they are locked onto the 3 network.
Even if it is locked to three if you got it on a contract after 30 days you can request for an unlock which I did and now my phone is unlocked to all networks

How to re-lock to network?

Hi, I bought the codes from eBay, and I don't know if the warranty is still valid because it is unlocked. So, is there a simple way to lock it to the network again? Or, there is no need to re-lock it because they can't see it its unlocked because I used a code. Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yes my friend, it is possible .. Just Google it and you will find (can't give you the link now). It's basically insert the network code which you want the phone to be locked .
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for reply, I am googleing it for the whole morning, and I found just one video on youtube, but I want to lock it like it was never been unlocked, to use original codes. do they check it if it is unlocked anyway? Thanks
