Is there a way to calibrate the screen on the TB? The last couple days it seems to be registering about 1/4" above where I actually am tapping the screen. To open the taskbar, I almost have to tap on the black area above the screen... I've tried a couple soft resets, but no luck...
Actually I guess that's 1/4" low... Either way it's still not accurate
I figured it out. The app "Wave Launcher" messes with the screen calibration. I installed it and it's all back to normal.
For future reference, screen touch calibration is in Settings / Language & Keyboards / Touch Input / Text Input. Scroll down to the bottom, and you can select the Calibration Tool and also Reset to the factory calibration.

This is ONLY for the stock keyboard. It doesn't affect any other apps or the system screen calibration.

I've tried installing different roms and kernels to try and fix this issue, but the "w" on the portrait keyboard doesn't work - instead it presses "q" and "e".
Is there a way on fixing the keyboard?
You need to go into the keyboard options and recalibrate that *****.

Sorry i'm a real noob, but how do you do that?
I cannot find a calibrate option for the life of me :l
when you get into your keyboard hit the little tire looking icon next to the mic.. And try the reset button in the options ^^
Sent from my SHW-M250K using XDA App
Which keyboard are you using?
I press the little cog and it takes me into "saumsung keypad settings" which has keyboard types, input language, xt9, keypad sweeping, character preview, auto-cap, handwriting settings, voice input, auto full stop and tutorial - but no reset?
Just the stock samsung keypad?
Ah yea the samsung one doesn't have a recalibrate option. I'm using the HTC keyboard, which has that option. Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16368109#post16368109
When you're installed go to: settings>language and keyboard>HTC ime mod settings>text input...scroll to the bottom to calibration tool..
Hope it works!
Weird how you automatically thought he was using HTC_IME.
I installed that HTC keyboard - the W key on the keyboard still doesn't work - I think it may be to do with that location on the screen?
Paired with this, I can't add contacts to my phone :l I'm using Litening ROM v5 :S
Very odd, could be a faulty screen...may be something to do with the roms you've been flashing..they can make things go funny sometimes.
Can't help with the contacts issue, I've only used stock on this phone.
I think just take it to the shop (after you've flashed original rom of course, and got rid of the yellow triangle thing), and swap it for a new one.
Good luck.
Using thumb keyboard right now but had same issue in better keyboard and regular GB as well.
Randomly my touches become inaccurate or a specific character will not input on screen when I push it. If I back out of the txt screen or wherever I'm writing and go back in, it usually works fine again. Using ShiftAosp 2.7. Happens regardless of kernel.
Is there a screen calibration type app or a fix for this?
Under settings>display or keyboard settings I dont have the calibration option. Maybe that's a sense thing.
I'm running a Sense based rom. I can go to: Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch input > Text input > Calibration tool
Just wondered if you went far enough into the menus. I'm not familiar with AOSP roms and the major differences yet.
did you ever fix this? I have the same problem. I replaced the screen and digitizer on the thunderbolt and now the touch is really inaccurate. I have a hard time navigating around and even typing on the thing. I'm running CyanogenMod. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix it?
I am having a very odd issue. My bottom taskbar with the back, menu, time buttons etc is frozen. Nothing happens when I click on it. However, if I rotate the tab to get the taskbar on the sides or the top, the taskbar begins to work. It's just not working when the taskbar is in normal position.
I have tried reinstalling the OS multiple times after wipe but still having the problem.
I thought it might be the touchscreen gone bad but after rotating, the touch works in the same location for other applications.
Not sure if there is some way to lock the taskbar.
Hi, I am absolutely new here and technically about android too.
Details about OS:
Sense 5.5 + 4.2.2 JB (Factory installed)
Things were good with my HTC One X+ for exactly 1 year.
Now it started giving problems...
First mobile got froze with notification window half dragged (when mobile was idle for nearly 2 Hrs), it won't respond to normal touch and keys. Power down didn't work too. Left it like that for 2 hours, then it allowed me to restart. After couple of restarts it became normal, almost. Now notification pull down won't work, with screen rotated - it works.
Tested with HTC tools and with ZTest, no touch sensitivity on the area where notification bar is.
Is it a HW issue or can be resolved by SW updates?
Please help me with this.
Digitzer problem, having the same.
Run HTC test app, it can only be opened by entering the dialer and typing hmm, *#*#HTCTEST#*#* I guess. Then there will be an option to draw lines where you touch. Swipe with your finger on your whole screen and probably a small area in shape of a rectangle at the top of your screen won't draw any lines.
Alternatively, you can go to settings > developer options and there is a similar option to draw lines.

Ran the test. As you said, it won't draw lines in shape of a rectangle where notification bar is.
So it's HW issue. I will check for Digitizer replacement. Thank you.
On screen navigation buttons are not hiding on oneplus x, need help. Buttons does not hide and occupy that space, not even minimise if something is played.
Earlier I used to move finger up, from bottom screen then navigation bars displayed. But suddenly something happened. There is no option available for hiding it.
Using 6.0.1 version. Stock ROM not rooted.
Need help ASAP.

That's a peculiar problem .try turning off on screen keys and turn on hardware keys. Restart and turn on on-screen keys.

Not working..
On-screen navigation buttons autohiding perfectly (buttons with transparent black background).
Now it's suddenly turn into black background with buttons and navigation bar does not auto hide (goes down like Nexus devices)
Simple words - want to use full screen again.

Well, try doing factory reset. I can't think of any reason why this would happen. Even if u raise a support ticket, first thing they will do is factory reset. So backup your data and do a factory reset.

Ya, I was thinking of that. But I wanted solution without formatting device. It will be lengthy process as device not rooted. Someone should come up with solution before Sunday otherwise factory reset will be only option for me.
Wiping cache and dalvik cache will help?
