Random 'back' button actions - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had this issue for a while but it seems to be happening more often now. I am currently running the Com ROM 1.3. Anyone else have this issue? It is really annoying.

I have been having this same issue, but I've been having it since the super clean days. I am now running Evil Fascination. I think it has something to do with the froyo roms. Seems like it does it after there has been a lot going on with my phone. Like windows get crazy when you hit something too many times and it takes awhile for the action to happen...
Just my 2 cents.

Q about browser

Hey. Just wondering, does anyone else have a graphics issue in Browser or DolphinHD, where in landscape the progress bar breaks up, disappears, moves backwards, etc?
This behavior is not an issue, but an annoying glitch.
It is rom independent; I've had it will any CM6 releases I've used since July. I think I had it with CM5, but can't say for sure. Can't remember if I had it with stock Sense or not.
One thing to note, days after moved to CM from Stock, I dropped my phone, cracked the digitizer and replaced it with a 'for parts' eris off Ebay.
So to make a long story short, do ya'll see this too or do you think it has to do with dropping it or my part replacement?

I don't use dolphinHD (prefer opera mobile personaly) but decided to download it to see, and I'm having now problems with the progress bar. I'm using a CM6 rom (tazz froyo 17) and the phone has never been dropped. Seems like it could be an issue with your phone.
Thanks, I appreciate the test. That's what I was thinking too. Two dropped phones put together to make one good one leaves too many hardware variables. But its odd that the progress bar is the only thing I see a problem with.

[Q] Stock 2.2 problems...

Sorry for the new thread, but search is down...
This may be a widely discussed issue, but does anyone else have some serious issues with stock 2.2 from Kies? I've had some problems with random reboots and Wifi glitching out (shows "Error" on status). Phone is also super laggy at times (especially with intense apps like Rhapsody). Except for the occasional capacitive button lag, I haven't really experienced these problems in Bionix...
Does this sound like a hardware issue? Or are these somewhat common problems with stock 2.2?
Very common problems with samsucks ****ty code. Never gonna figure figure out how ppl thay do this **** for free can do a better job than those that get paid to do it.

Yeah, that is pretty ridiculous. Still pretty much problem free on Bionix (as I almost always have been since getting the phone in November).
Would have sold this phone a long time ago if not for TW lol.

[Q] Graphical glitches

Hello everyone, i installed super clean 2.9.2 on my phone (including kernel and all) via odin and it went all good, all the apps work and everything but...
every now and then my screen will freak out and have graphical lines go across my screen and i cant see anything, itll only last like 5 -10 seconds and only happens randomly. is this my phone and should i take it back to verizon?
or is this super clean? like a bug or glitch.
thank you in advance
Sounds like it might be hardware. I've run literally all the sc voodoo roms & kernels & have never seen that...

Allrights. Then i guess ill take it bak to verizon n tellthem bout the glitches after i reinstall stock/unroot
Yeah, that def. sounds like a hardware issue....I haven't come across anything like that regarding superclean. Hopefully verizon will help you out though

Well called up verizon n theyre sending me a replacmet.

[Q] Homescreen Lag

My Atrix runs nice and smoothly for the most part. Apps are smooth as butter. My only issue is lag whenever I return to the homescreen. If I wake up the device after a while, or I return to the homescreen after using an app for a while, and I try to swipe to another homescreen, there's always a 1 second delay. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but it gets annoying seeing it all the time. The same thing happens with any launcher I try to use. Live wallpapers don't really make it lag more. I do use lots of Widgets, so maybe that's causing it. I don't know. Does anyone else have any insight on this?
I have the same issue. Using Lpro. I thought if I put into memory it won't happen but it doesn't help. A bit irritating.

yes, im experiencing this too, though I do not have a solution. Is what you're experiencing like right when you unlock the phone, and you try and swipe between homescreens, it's kind of like slow motion until like 2 seconds later, then it becomes full speed and buttery smooth?

Exactly. Does it happen to you when you exit an app as well?
I wonder whether this is a result of the way Tegra 2 handles processes. Maybe it slows down ADW (or other launcher) when not in use, but doesn't speed up quickly enough.
Hopefully future Gingerbread updates help fix this.
So...
I guess this is just an unfortunate side effect of Froyo not being optimized for dual-core processors? That sucks, especially considering that I haven't seen this happening with any other Android phone, dual-core or not.
I had a homescreen lag on my N1 with stock froyo, on my Nexus S with gingerbread. My MT4g hat no lag with froyo and sense. Attic has a lag occasionally. Ithink it is bad programming in android or the graphic overlay.

Hmm. That makes me think the upcoming Gingerbread update won't fix this.
I wonder whether there's anything I can freeze. I've already frozen the stock launcher (I use ADW) but it hasn't helped.

I can't speak for newer gingerbread versions. I returned my Nexus S after 3 weeks and it shipped with the original, too early released version of gingerbread that was horrible buggy. Hopefully, they fixed that in later versions. Let's see what version we get for the Atrix.
Is it just a select few people having this issue? As I browse the forums, most people say that the Atrix is perfect and has no lag.
Am I going to have to remove widgets to get rid of this homescreen stutter?
Grrr. This issue is like a grape juice stain on your white carpet. It's little, but it's there.
I'll stop bumping this, I guess not enough people are having this problem.

I have a notification bar lag that only a few people have. If I get an email and my phone is locked and I unlock it and try to swipe the notification bar down I need always 2 attempts to be successful...I have absolutely no idea what triggers this...

CM9 Instability Question

I'm running the CM9 beta and while I really like the interface and smoothness of ICS, I get loads of random lockups and restarts. Is this typical? Is there any way around it? It seems as if some people are running this ROM without much trouble which makes me wonder why I'd be subject to a different experience.
any thoughts or suggestions? is there anything I can do increase stability?
thanks
If you're running a lot of media on it, say: pics, movies, web browsing with many pics or gifs to load they it can give it some trouble. Play around with it for a bit and see what it likes and what it doesn't. CM9 is really nice.
I have a thread addressing this issue. You may want to check it out.

Fixed Permissions and that didn't seem to help anything. My phone could just be sitting on my desk and it will suddenly restart. only real widget I'm running is Beautiful Widgets weather/clock combo. Had been running Go Launcher, but disabled it to no effect. I'm somewhat at a loss as to what I can even try at this point.
I seemed to have more problems with it when I tried to supercharge. But when I was first trying to do it, it wasnt 100% supercharged. I figured out the right way of getting it fully supercharged and it ran smoother than ever. Still some lockups and reboots now and then but thats expected. Our ICS ROMs aren't perfect. I also found that flashing the ROM without wiping data sometimes made things worse. Now that I figured out how to do things right, every ICS ROM we have runs smooth. Other than the random reboots every now and then. Those wont go away.

I been running paranoid android for 2 days now. Not one reset or real issue yet. I use fast reboot pro from play store though

Another suggestion is to use system tuner to disable apps from starting up that do not need to be running. That's seems to have helped quite a bit.

Just wanted to update this for others having some stability issues.
I wanted to flash the bluesleep fix. So I copied it to my phone, made a nandroid, and flashed it. While in the BSR I decided to flash the mashups.
reboot, major problems as you'd guess. read up on it, reflash CM9, things are ok, but I revert back to my nandroid just to be safe. then I flash the bluesleep fix.
now...super stable. a couple of random reboots but no where near as many. what fixed it, the bluesleep fix? just mucking with it? no idea. moral of the story may be to apply the blue sleep fix, or take a nandroid and then restore it. I have no idea, but now I'm really loving my CM9.
Paranoid android has the blue sleep fix and mash up as part of the rom
