SD Built - HD2 Android SD Development

How is it possible to do an sd built with only windows xp?
..Can I do it?
..is there a tutorial to do it?.. please

Welllllll.....
I originally did things trying to incorporate Windows as much as possible.
Lets just say it's a GIANT pain in the ass.
Better off setting up an Ubuntu VM using VirtualBox and going from there.
And just a heads up, this is a dev sub-forum, please use the HD2 Android Q&A in the future.

ok ok...thanks for your answer...in the future I will see the another section of the forum

[Q] Help With Ubuntu on Phone

Hey guys,
I came across this thread in the android devolepment section and was quite interested at the prospect of running ubuntu on my phone. Although, I am a massive noob so i was wondering, once you follow the instructions on the thread and u are using ubuntu:
1. Can you use ur phone to call people?
2. If you're done with ubuntu do you just close it or how do you stop using it and go back to your normal phone OS?
3. What is the risk involved (if any) with running ubuntu?
I appreciate any input u guys have,
Thanks in advance!

1. Yes, Its a phone........
2. Ubuntu Phone OS takes over android, sort of like dual boot or just ubuntu OS no android
3. why is there risk?
also Nexus users will be able to get Ubuntu Phone OS in 1-3 weeks (17 January 2013)

First thing you need to do is ask yourself (especially so given by your own admission you're a 'massive n00b'), why do you want to run Ubuntu ?
If the answer is something vague like 'cos it would be cool', don't do it. If you don't have any previous experience with Linux on PC, don't do it.
In other words, unless you have a specific reason for doing it, don't. The instructions on how to install it/get it up & running are very clear/concise for those who have a reason/know what they're doing.
If they're not to you, best you keep enjoying using your phone as it is now.

[Q] HP Mini 210 running Android

Hey guys. First off I'd like to say that I'm fairly new to all this, so don't be to harsh Anyway. I just installed Android 4.0.3 for the Android Thinkpad, onto my HP Mini 210. It works great, its fast, its awesome. Problem is, the wifi driver. From all the research I've done, I've found out that the linux doesn't natively support the wifi card that the Mini comes with either. So, I went about trying to learn how one would install it in linux. The two links below are to the drivers and the readme for the driver I need to install.
xda forums won't let me post the links... but if you do a quick google search for "802.11 Linux STA driver" it'll be the first one to pop up.
I can't figure out how to install the driver. I feel like I've gotten so close. But my limited knowledge of linux has lead me to a brick wall. Please help me here! Any and all help is greatly appreciated, even if its a link to another forum or site.

ShaperProbe

We all talk about speed tests and have theories about which one works best. I use ShaperProbe http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~partha/dif...aperprobe.html on the Mac and PC. They make a command line Linux version that is awesome but I tried with my newbish Linux skills and can't figure out how to compile it as a Android Linux tool. I realize it wouldn't be an APK but I'd share my results if I can get it working.
I've tried Android Terminal IDE and a virtual terminal and neither of them have make installed and I'm afraid I've reached my skill limit. I'm not asking anyone to do it for me but some assistance would be awesome.
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

[Q] Need help with ubuntu installation..

Hi guys,
Im really new to android and linux, yet i want to install ubuntu on my device.
I got it as a gift and would like to make it a netbook like.
Anyway, as far as i know i have the latest JB bootloader, unlocked, also i have the hairybean rom, and OCed to 1.7Ghz, I also have TWRP recovery...
Now, i saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603921k i understood that it installs ubuntu on my device completely, without any need of VNC.
Yet the thread is a bit outdated i guess, from reading a bit i ubderstood that the sound has been fixed, and they had worked on a whole new kernel to fix everything up...
Now, can please somebody guide me, and give me the newest files (kernel and OS)?
Thanks alot and sorry for being such a noob!!
PS any way to install the OS directly on the SSD, and not on an external SD, also, anyway to remove android (if ubuntu is stable enough?)
Come on people, 90 views and no replies?
100 views and no replies?
Can someone atleast put this thread in the Ubuntu installation how-to, so people can refer to this thread and help me?

Dude you seriously need to chill out. Ubuntu is not officially running yet, It is only out on the Nexus devices and their kernels, file systems, boot loaders, etc... are apples to oranges compared to the prime. It is still in heavy development in trying to make it so it actually runs smooth and dual boots android. The developers in the Ubuntu thread have been busting their ass to make it happen and there are multiple developers working together to get to happen. There are still a whole bunch of bugs that need to be worked out. I have been following the thread from day 1 so you can do the same here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603921. By saying you are new to linux/ubuntu then I would sit back for a bit and follow the tread before you brick your tablet. Things seem like they are going very well in the thread so sit back and read 60+ pages of posts to catch up and have a coke and a smile.

you can install windows on a mac.
thats what i used when i did mine. Im sure there is easier ways, however, most of the all in one tools are for windows.
so id suggest using bootcamp to install windows.
