Every startup I'm receiving an error stating that the following failed to start and I only have the option to 'force close' it:
process.com.sec.android.widgetapp.apnews
Has done this since I received it.
I've searched the forum but can't see anyone else with this.
What firmware version is your phone?
Try going to applications in your settings and force closing the app and clearing data and the restart the phone.

I have an LG Esteem running Android 2.3.4.
I went to change my ringtone went into settings, ringtones and get
the following message.
The application settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
then force close.
I HAVE SEARCHED this forum for over 3 hours now to find a solution
but, to no avail.
If anyone has had this problem or know how to get it fixed Please Help!
My phone is rooted and I am using Backup Pro to backup all my apps and
data because all I've found is lots of people saying to do a factory reset.
This is not an ideal solution since everything works but, being able to
get into ringtones....even notification work......
Again, if anyone can help me that would be great!

Everytime I boot up my TP it gives me an application error didn't start.
"The application CMClient (process com.asus.cm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Does anyone else get this. I have gotten it everytime I have booted up my device, and now it's starting to piss me off lol.
Ok I did some researching and found that the TF had an similar problem, and I would not let them update as well. There's was the DM client stopped unexpectedly though. What they did is this:
1. Settings
2. Applications
3. Running services
4. All
5. DMClient
6. Clear data
7. Force stop
8. Shut down and restart the tablet
I will try it when I get home to see if it works. If anyone else has this issue, could you try this out to see if it works or not? Also here is the link to the other thread I found.
Just got my prime and have the dmclient FC constantly. i will try the above. thx

I am having the same issue. I have tried all these steps and still get the error when I reboot and try and update as well. I have factory reset the Prime as well with no luck, I still get the error. I have emailed Asus today to see if they have any other suggestions.
hello everyone i am working on a new surprise for us i cant sya any details about it atm......but... ive run into an issue maybe someone can offer sme ideas to fix cause ive run out of ways.......
market returns a 491 error no matter what i try to dl or update i can open market go to my account my apps...i can see everything right but after i hit accept to download it sits there the download icon appears in status bar then the error pops up says error 491 cannot be downloaded.... if anyone can help me solve this would be greatly appreciated

I did a bit of googling on this. Im sure its not the case but do you by chance have any proxies set in apn settings? maybe came from porting something or whatever? That seems to be the most popular cause that ive found so far.
Ill keep looking around, see if I find anything else.
Anyone find the fix? I upgraded to an ICS system today and all of a sudden I'm getting error 491 on any attempts to install apps I've purchased. I can't find any proxy settings in ICS.
(UPDATE) I found the fix for me: Clearing cache and Dalvik cached worked.
Hi all,
I recently updated my Mozart to Windows 7.8 and immediately afterwards, the phone app and messages app now crash as soon as you click on them. Some of the setting pages causes the settings app to crash too. I tried doing a hard reset, factory restore, different SIM cards but nothing seems to fix it...
Any pointers? Im happy to change the ROM and do whatever flashing and stuff that is required, I did try something using the RUU tool but kept getting communication error...
Not sure what the version is, as that's one of setting pages that crash the app....

Hi,
I'm having an issue with 2.20.89 whatsapp version and later.
If I update the app when I tap to open whatsapp the first time it pops out an error messagge that says that there is a problem with the chat history and it wants to try to recover from google drive backup. Also this trial goes wrong and it is unable to recover, the app start without any message.
If I install 2.20.64 version or earlier everything is fine.
I tryed also with a different backup file present on the phone but I have always the same issue.
I read that other people have this issue but I haven't found any solution.
Is there anybody who experienced this problem or have some solution?
