"Installation unsuccessful" makes me think it downloaded just fine over your wifi, otherwise it would say "download unsuccessful". What app(s) are failing to install?

How long have you had the problem?
1. Try removing external SD card and installing. May be a conflict. Also try unmounting and remounting external SD card. (Removal/replacement will do same).
2. Clear data and cache in marketplace app then reboot.
3. Do you have a lot of apps/music/videos already installed? Could be there isn't enough storage. Installation process needs space to work. You might have a 20MB app, but need 100MB free to actually install it.
4. Could also be the marketplace itself is having a bad day. It happens.

Open titanium backup and see if there is any application related to market frozen? If you find frozen app, just defrost it. Also clear the market cache.

I had the problem for a long time. Got the new market and it would actually give me an error message, about insufficient storage.
Info in settings clearly said I had enough, but still constant fails.
Eventually installed link2sd, used it on some apps problem solved.

try this --> wipe data of Market using Titanium backup. You will need to login again in market.
Check if your Google talk is working or not. I came across the same problem and I was advised to log out of gtalk and log in again. That didn't help me. I just flashed the rom over the existing rom. You can also flash gapps if you are on custom rom

Best way is flash Gapps again. It will resolve this issue permanently.

Memory Card Does Not Exist

I have a Samsung Epic 4g and just recently while trying to download third party apps or anything outside of the Android Market I get the error: Memory Card Does Not Exist. Has anybody ever had this error? Please help!!!!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I've got the sd card does this before just the restart your phone and see if your sd card is back using a file browser.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yea I tried to reboot but still its giving me errors
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Does file explorer find the sd card? Is the sd shown as mounted in the settings?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes it finds it, its just every time I time I try to download something from one of those downloading sites, it just goes to memory card does not exist. Is my sd car corrupted or something?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Well you might need to format your sd card, or not use third party markets...
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
How do you reformat your card? Do I lose everything that is saved on my card when I do?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yes, a reformat wipes the sd. To reformat you can do it from recovery by mounting sd and formating or from the settings menu

Please download another app from Android market and see if this error also appears.
Thats the weirdest part about this. I can download from the market just fine, its just gives me the memory card does not exist when I go to download a zip from one of those file sharing sites.

Is it possible that the problem comes from the the app itself, maybe you can try another app from the same site or another one from the shared links. It happens to me sometime, and I will just let it go and try something else.
Thats what I thought too but thats not it. It gives me that error whenever I download from any of those file sharing sites. I tried to download Roms, Music, Etc with no luck... It just keeps saying Memory Card Does Not Exist.

Game says not enough space

I'm trying to dl a game from the market, but it keeps telling me my phone has insufficient space. The game is around 40mb, but both my phone space and my sd card space are in the many gb range. I just don't get it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I get this from time to time also. Try deleting market data and then try to download it again.
I was hoping it would be that easy, but I just get the same message. Lame.

Your /datadata partition is either full, or will be over full if the game is installed. Try uninstalling another large app and see if that helps.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
I think its /cache directory where temp downloads from market are stored. Try cleaning cache partition from recovery.
On CM7 I only get around 40mb free in cache so big download from market have problems from time to time unless I clean it.

No way. Internal storage 692MB free, SD 9,69GB free

[Q]Issue: during installing Apk saying out of space..

I cannot install titanium backup anymore.
It says out of space. But it's not.
Even if I deinstall a lot I get the same message.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Have you used lucky patcher? It causes that problem sometimes. There's an option in the app to remove all patches. Try it and see. If that isn't the case, make sure your internal storage is roughly above 500mb.
Edit: is it solely for titanium backup or can you not download any apps without getting that error?

Remove the .odex file of that apk you are trying to install on /data/app
This happens when you crack an application and it leaves the modified .odex file on said directory.
