What Kernel are you using with your ComRom 1.3?
I had the problem with the samsung bootloop when flashing 1.3
Solution was to flash the OTB 1.3 kernel.....
I am coming from Evil Fascination v3.5.1
with 0426-PBJ-100-uv-voodoo kernal
and Loved it.....
I have been hearing good things about CR v1.3 so i flashed it with the otb 1.3.
I tried my pbj Kernel and it didnt like that very much
SOOOOOOOO
What Kernel are you using with your ComRom 1.3?
By ODIN's Beard!
ComRom 1.3 comes with OTB 1.4. You flashed an older version over a newer version.
Yes because i was stuck on a boot loop. it would just stay on the Samsung logo and reboot. So the fix was to flash the older kernel.
is that it? really?
i'm currently running OTB 1.3 because i get the same bootloop "samsung stuck" with OTB 1.4
there has to be a fix
Many have flashed 1.3 with the built in kernal without issue. So, I guess you can't 'fix' something that isn't really broken.
Using 1.3 just the way it came didn't change anything except the voltage settings. Runs great on my phone.
1.3 with the included kernel(otb1.4) has been great. Tried the 1.5 kernel but couldn't get it stable on my phone.
Sent from my OTB Comm.Rominate
yes i found the asop pbj sv Voodoo worked just fine.
so i have been using that for the past few days on the com rom...
I am hoping for some GB lovins soon! lol
I had "heard" that there were issues with OTB 1.4. I too have had some stability and battery issues on 1.4, so I flashed back to OTB 1.3 and have been in good shape with that one.
But for some reason I cannot pin down, I seem to be hooked on trying the latest and greatest
FWIW, 1.4 I could run 1300mhz with rare issues. 1.3 1200mhz seems to be the max...

Where might one find OTB 1.5? I have looked and looked - I feel like a moron, as I am seeing nothing beyond 1.3 in the dev section...
EDIT - I AM a moron Located here - anyone interested - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13860811&postcount=734
Further reading leaves me unclear if this has SU and root as part of it though.

I have a dumb question, and didn't seem to get a direct answer. I just recently started flashing new roms and using odin, but was curious about O/Cing. With the Fusion rom already flashed, do I just flash the Voodoo kernel or do I reflash the stock firmware and THEN flash the kernel followed by the rom? Or is there something I should or should not do in there, lol. Any input is appreciated, as I am relatively new to all this.

If your new to all this don't use voodoo just yet unless your willing to deal with a brick as it's very easy to brick with voodoo

Ok, so I read up and flashed the Project Core v2 kernel last night on the 1.2 Fusion rom and it ran perfectly and was super quick at 1200/200 on setcpu. Problem is today after rebooting, it will completely freeze every once in a while while doing something media-wise, such as watching youtube videos or playing Hyper Jump. I know I didn't flash the kernel or rom wrong, so is there something I am missing? I also have the OCLF installed, if that matters.
Tonight I am going to reflash them both to see if it works, but would like to see if there is something I can do before I get off work.

you can just flash the voodoo kernel over fusion, but not all vibrants are capable of using voodoo. i.e. the vibrants with the larger nand chip does not support voodoo. if you do flash the voodoo kernel and your phone does not support, everything will still work just fine, but voodoo will not be enabled.
as for OCing..not all vibrants are capable of OC. it may run smooth at first, but some vibrants will start freezing up or slowing down. i found dragons kernel to work amazing or core 1.0ghz kernel

Alrighty, I may just drop the OC then. I just wasn't sure if it was me or not.

Hey folks, have two kernels that are begging to be tested. I do not know how they will work on DJ05, or DI01.
I started with jt1134's source code, added my own undervolt settings, and patched the source code with the changes from Samsung for DL09. These are not overclocked.
Test1 (1/15)

These are beta in quality and may have undesired effects. The problem isn't completely gone, but at least the CD ROM detection should be (it is for me). Thats why I need them tested. I myself still had to boot with cable in to use mass storage.

Edit: well it boots and that is a welcome change.... I joke I joke
Edit 2: test2 is working with no problems at all on DJ05 for me
Can we know what version/release date are these? I'm already using your kernel from CWM and I don't know if what I'm using is already this one.
This is from 1/15...as in today. The filename says it all. Also I dont see Adrenalyne's stuff on rom manager?
Trying the non voodoo one now - I was running your 12/30 kernel and loving it so this one should be awesome too!

ah ok, I got that release through an older DL09 thread.
Just flashed the Voodoo5 one without any problems, everything seems to be working great.
Gonna disable voodoo and install your superclean .4 then reflash this kernel, looking foward to the complete package
What has changed since 12/30 for the nonvoodoo? I am currently using that one.
Flashed non-voodoo, installed fine, seems to have a very responsive UI.

i flashed the nonvoodoo version on my stock dl09 firmware, and i have been getting strange bugs.. 1 is when the phone will temp freeze, screeen shuts off, and when it comes back on it rescans the sd card, and exits out of everything i had running. another bug happened twice whjile i was talking on the phone about 10 seconds in the phone temp freezed again causing me to lose my call.
Flashed the Voodoo5, running like a champ, like all your kernels do. Keep up the good work.

anyone try it with DJ05 yet?
I rooted my TB via the one click method offered by Captiankrtek and flashed Das Bamf 1.3.1. Then downloaded setcpu, autodetected speeds, tried disabling perflock (which it says was not needed) and then tried overclocking past 1024MHz, but alas, that is my highest setting. So I though maybe I need to flash the kernel. Went to Rom Manager and have tried every kernel under Mr. Bobrowitz's section. In the software information it clearly states the custom kernels but setCPU is still sticking to 1024. I tried uninstalling setCPU and reinstalling but nothing is working. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Unless you have a overclock kernal you won't be able to overclock. Sounds to me you have a stock kernal.

I am running the kernel that is included in the Das BAMF rom. setCPU shows the smartass setting and everything, but 1024 is as high as I can go
You do not have an overclocking kernel. You cannot overclock in this one. That is the problem. Look in development for an OC kernel.

I am a borderline retard I guess. I thought it came with his 1.2 kernel. Also, I tried to flash the 1.9 kernel via CWR last night but I see that link is gone today so maybe that was broken when I tried last night. Anywhootles, I just flashed the 1.2 Kernel by Adrynalyne and it works perfectly. Thanks for not bashing me for my stupidity.

Hey guys,
I was using ninphetamine 2.0.5 on lite'ning rom and it worked really well. Last night I flashed to CM7 nightyly build 16 and then flashed Ninphetamine 2.0.5 using Odin 1.85 and when the phone restarts basically everything had to force close and I got a million "this and this has stopped unexpectedly". The boxes keep reappearing after I click through them so I can never get to using the phone.
Is there some incompatibility with Ninphetamine x CM7? I would like to undervolt, so which kernel should I use with CM7? (The stock CM7 kernel doesn't have undervolting)
I believe the CM7 devs have asked kernel devs not to provide support for it yet as they are still in heavy development. Hacre has respected this wish with ninphetamine, use whichever kernel CM7 comes with. See this post from pulser
Ah, thanks for that. CM7 does still have a few problems, but I am extremely impressed with my few hours playing around with it.
I guess it's villainrom for the time being
just wanting to know whats the best way to install superclean 3. currently on a debloated rom ed01.

Change what setting? The kernal will come with its default settings when you flash it
ok, i just was confused, since i have seen alot of comments about changing their voltage setting to over clock and under clock. i wasnt sure if they had a default automatically. kernels are the one thing that confuses me.
Kernels will have default voltage settings and (usually) are not over, or under-clocked by default. If you want to change those values you'll need an app like voltage control.
thanks i'll look into it. would it be best to read through the posts under the SC3 Rom to see what would be a good voltage setting to run with?

I have been running SC3 milestone2 (AWESOME btw) for a while as my daily until the bugs get worked out on ICS. I use Leankernel however because my phone had display (color and lines) with KGB. LK comes overclocked at 1.2ghz. It is fixed, whereas KGB can be overclocked more (up to 1.7 but you most likely wont get past 1.3 or 1.4 and be stable).
If you want to flash kernels an wasy way to do it is with SGS Kernel Flasher (free in the market). It will back up you current kernel so it makes trying different kernels easy.
