I am using Launcher Pro. Is there any widget or shortcut Icon that can lock the screen. I dont want to lock using hardware key.
I am on 2.1 Stock and saw many applications but all were for froyo.

Hi all,
Enjoying the new 2.1 update on my x10 mini pro but something is bothering me.
I came to the x10 from HTC phones and i still cant get used to the home screen nor like it on the x10.
Is there anyway to just have the home screen kinda like vanilla Android so i can place the icons on the screen myself?

I used 'launcher pro' which you can get free off the market to get home screens like on other android devices, it's got lots of customisability too.

It is if you use a different home launcher like ADW Launcher or LauncherPro to replace the default one from SE.

Widget locker is also good. another one is "lock bot"(or something like that), in which u have iphone style, eclair stlye, froyo style, hero style, xperia x10 style and galaxy s style lockscreens. although not much customizable as widget locker but still not bad. u can download full version from applanet.

in my opinion lockbot pro is better than widgetlocker, but if you want to put widgets on lockscreen you have to use widgetlocker.
you can also try GOTO lockscreen

Download widget locker from market it has a variety of lockscreens and extras.
Mod the lockscreen without root? Nah... you root access to replace system files.

if you are not rooted, most probably you will see two lockscreens.
anyway, lockscreen alternatives are; widgetlocker, lockbot, lockit etc......
Does anyone know how to replace the standard lockscreen on a rooted stock 2.2?
I have Widget Locker but now and again the original screen pops up and it can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

in my opinion, the reason you see 2 lockscreens is because of android system 5 second rule. any lockscreen other than stock one, will have to wait 5 to initialize. however, in widget locker you can bypass this rule. turn on home helper option in behaviour, and make sure 5 sec bypass is checked. if it is unchecked, check it.

This is an issue with htc sense roms. on aosp roms like cm6 or cm7, the original lock never shows up with the 5 second root bypass rule activated.
Try Lockbot Pro..it has a variety of Lock screens to choose from like Eclair style, iPhone, Froyo etc....it shows up only one lock screen though..and you ve an option to unlock the screen using any hardware button not just power button, nifty feature
For not visualizer 2 lockscreen you must use no lock
Worth it just for the ability to delete apps directly from within the app drawer..

i have it on my arc, very light, no loading apps that installed on sd card each time i press home button, improved animations for icons.
Is it just me or is there a big gab between the 4th row and the dock?

I'm not sure. I have the Play and when I slide it open,it forces everything into landscape.

[MOD] Transparent Home Dock for Arc [ Update - 2.0.A.0.20 ]
It works nice on my stock non-rooted arc.
Problem is the widget overview is now pointless eye-candy. The widgets float around one over another and are harder to read and tap than last version. I don't see a way to turn it off even.

Ok, I think that I have made something wrong because I can not see any difference.
I can see the option to remove instaled aps but can not see the overview and widgets floating?!
I have read somewhere that I have to remove everything from the desktop on my phone, tried that too but nothing.
