Yes.
This module is a patch for GB_FreeXperia Kernel(Jerpelea's original).
Froyo user have two choice to work WiFi and BT with FreeXperia Kernel.
(1) Use 9Lukas5's Froyo version kernel
or
(2) Use original or 9Lukas5's GB version kernel and this patch.
Sorry for confusing you
[Q1] so the patched file is required if we dont use the modded boot.img u posted eariler?
[Q2] are the wifi modules u provded here the same ar6000.ko renamed to wifi.ko or are they also modified?
thank you for ur work!!!
IMP
in ur patch update.zip u have:
Code:
set_perm 0 0 755 SYSTEM:bin/abtfilt
this might not work well... (have had some issues when i used similar commands in the kernel manager)
safer to use:
Code:
set_perm 0 0 0755 SYSTEM:bin/abtfilt
also no specific permissions/ownership for /system/bin/wpa_supplicant ???

Applied Wifi stuff and still no wifi.
Do I have to install both of those zips (bt and wifi) just one after one? Or do I have to install first BT then reboot then wifi reboot and its okay? Please more details would be appreciated.
Install guide with all links provided would be awsome.
Wifi not work with MIUI 2.2?
Works excellent here. Check your chargemon after flashing the driver and the fix. Also make sure that kernel dir in system exist with the boot image.

(1) Install wifi_bt_fix-fxk_froyo_v01.zip
(2) Install applicable WiFi Driver(you don't have to reboot at that time)
- for example you installed K010 then install wifi_driver_k010.zip only
(3) reboot
and you'll get to work both wifi and bt.

Really? Thanks for this info.
Before I tested Trip's MIUI v1.0.63 with K008/K009 then wifi connected correctly but couldn't get ip from dhcp server.
I set ip static then worked fine.
Now Auto obtain with no problem, then jerpelea may fix wifi driver.
Thanks !

in your hw_config include this lines ...
"# overclock speed
insmod /system/lib/modules/x8oc.ko"
if you incluyed this lines cpu set 691 to default... and oc with setcpu to 825mhz...
Dont include that line in v8 its included in owain delta.rc script!
Setcpu wont work, i did this before and now dont use that line since than overclocking is working with set cpu

@ owain i used tun.ko with openvpn and just insmodded it when openvpn was activated, there is an openvpninstaller and openvpnsettings.apk to download as well as the free openvpn configs. If anybody wants it i can share :-D
also feel free to include everything in your new cm7 rom/hotfix

Hey hey hey thanks!
I've just tried the OC with my CM6, it works well.
So it look like if we were having a new dev on CM ^^
What about chumby is he always here ?
May we ask to you devs on what are you working actually ? Cause there are some echoes that you are working about MT true or false ?
Thanks for those fixes Slade87, maybe i'll be back to CM7.
Oh i got an idea...
A bit crazy but what about dual boot ?
We may have choice beetween CM6 and CM7 at boot.
That would be lovely !!!!
What ya think about it ?
another small update.
please install with xrec and go advanced/fixpermissions!!! you have to let xrec fix permissions install hotfix01 from owain or mine in above posts aswell
Changelog:
added some libraries and some minor bin files nothing fancy, just to complete the libs a bit more. seems to be more stable now on games. haven't had a crash anymore.
please install hotfix either from owain or mine in the above thread.
I haven't had any random reboots since then. hope it helps you guys as well.
Hey slade i must say I´m really happy about it that we "Germany" have a great dev like owain!! Another question is does the fix for wlan 802.1x working on the v3.6?? Because I don´t get it working (eduroam) on my Uni?? I try it without and with Telekom Root Ca and my settings peap and MSCHAPV2? My VPN works with owains rom but when I disconnect or close the app vpn connections my phone reboot with the v3.6?? Can you please give me an advice what I can do to solve this problem!! And I must say you both are the best!!
i am really not sure about 3.6 but you could however make a xrec backup and install wlanupdate.zip this should be fine.
but some sony/global certs and libs are also in hotfix01 and hotfix02 but I am unsure about these.
best thing for you would be to try the wlanupdate.zip
and maybe hotfix01/02
please report back if it works.
if it doesnt just advanced restore your system partion with xrec.
Hey slade I had tasted your Wlan-fix on CM v3.6!! I flashed it over the xrec everything works fine!! But eduroam will not work!! So I think i tasted the CM 7 hotfix + your hotfix 2 And wait for the new version!! AND in the future our DREAMTEAM (OWAIN and SLADE) will bring the best ROM to our x10 mini pro
Maybe with Multitouch

We've all been newbies once
CM7 = Cyanogen Mod 7
You need to update CyanogenMod to version 7.
Hi all,
I need some testers from all available roms for x10. From stock rom and all custom roms.
Cause there are many custom roms available and they don't use all the same recovery, it's heavy-handed to create update.zips who can used by everyone. If I count a few there are:
people with a 2.2 rom without the needed files for applying custom kernel
people with a 2.2 rom with the needed files for applying custom kernel
people with a 2.2 rom and xrecovery
people with a 2.2 rom and freexperiarecovery
and so on.
my aim is it, to have one update.zip, who works for all people, no matter if they have applied a custom kernel before or have this recovery and not those...
but i can't test all roms now, cause this would need time and nerves i haven't.
Because that, i made two update.zips:
First includes:
please test this first and if this works, flash the one with the kernel, that we know if there are problems, if they come from the recovery part or the uncompatibility between rom and kernel
chargemon file whos made for FreeXperiaRecovery
FreeXperiaRecovery
Requirements:
this zip should work on all basebands, but i generally prefer bb 2.0.52 from here with bb patch for 2.2 roms from here
Second includes:
chargemon file whos made for FreeXperiaRecovery and boots custom kernel as default
kernel folder: latest custom kernel (k006) with miniloader and splboot.ko files
FreeXperiaRecovery
wifi modules for 2.2 and 2.3 roms
Kernel k011/k012 changelog:
kernel 2.6.29.6
a lil more free ram
removed UV for 998Mhz (seems to be the cause reboots)
Fix FrameCap (Thank Z)
addded all mtd partitions (Thank Z)
volume fix
compiled with new gcc 4.4.3
changed SLAB alocator to SLOB
enabled swap support
added Tiny RCU
added UV/OC (k012)
added UC (k012.1)
FPS cap removed
fixed iptables
Requirements:
Flash the ftf bundle from the latest Cm 7 release with flashtool
Only for 2.2 roms: Basebandpatch 49 from here
Please test the update.zips on your rom (but make a backup before flashing, that you can restore anything if s.th. goes wrong) and report if it works on your rom, and don't forget to tell which rom you tested on.
before installing, make sure you comply the requirements
installation:
For users who haven't FreeXperiaRecovery yet:
first install FreeXperiaRecovery v02.zip
reboot into recovery
install latest version
now boot up system and enjoy
For users who have FreeXperiaRecovery yet:
install directly latest version
now boot up system and enjoy
Legend:
FX = FreeXperia
FXR = FreeXperiaRecovery
gb = Gingerbread
froyo = froyo
only wrote bin or xbin instead of system/bin or system/xbin
Link for first zip (only FreeXperiaRecovery):
FXR_v051.zip
Link for second zip (FreeXperiaRecovery and custom Kernel as default booted):
2.6.29.6_FX_k011+FXR_v0.0.8.2.zip
2.6.29.6_FX_k012+FXR_v0.0.9.1.zip
2.6.29.6_FX_k012.1+FXR_v0.1.0.0.zip

Trying it on Trips gingerbread MIUI ROM. I'll report back!
It booted, and OC works (setCPU)! Will try it for a while to test performance and battery.
Alright, the touch and animations is very smooth with this kernel. And WiFi works!
I'll use it for a while and see if it drains much battery.
EDIT: As it seems now it drains hella lot battery. :/ Even though im using the BOOST guide and screen of profile in setCPU. Will calibrate the battery a few times and see if it helps..

It is possible, but they don't do. So if my zip works on all roms, you can simply apply your rom how it is described in the rom thread and boot it to be sure the rom works and then flash my zip. If anyone make it that way in future, everyone would have the same recovery and you wouldn't have headache

ok, s.th. strange happened to me, i flashed the same zip again (i haven't edited the file or moved renamed, nothing) but after that second flashing, my recovery was broken too and i got a lot of fc's like described from many others. Now i wanted to flash freexperiarecovery without kernel to see if the problem is there or by the kernel, but can't get the zip file to work. So, I'm going to sleep now, maybe i can't see anything important at the moment cause i'm so tierd. But thanks for testing it yet on some roms
Hi everyone,
My X10i said that it cannot enable wifi after I had installed custom kernel on STOCK ROM (I have tried many of stock firmwares but the same problem). The custom kernel I used is:
- FreeKernel-alpha1 by zdzihu
- FreeKernel-alpha1-in-call volume fix by zdzihu
I also used the FreeXperia Kernel beta4 by Bin4ry. The wifi works good but I cannot start a full benchmark from Quadrand. It said that "this phone does not support ..." something like that when I tried to benchmark.
Please help!
Thanks in advance.
Custom kernals aren't supported at this point so it would make sense that you had some error, especially when you are installing it on a STOCK rom. There's not much you can do until they develop something stable =)

Open a terminal emulator and type dmesg, save the text and attach it here, I have a similar problem :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12882017
Thanks, I will do it and post the info asap.
one possible reason could be..
wifi.ko needs to insmod in the kernel mine was stuck coz of that.
did you used flashable zip to install kernel or manually did the editing.
please post your chargemon @ /system/bin/chargemon
+ logcat.
If you are facing WiFi tethering error with Franco Kernel GINGERBREAD ( 2 OCT ) on official 2.3.3 based roms , please try the following steps and see if it is working :
1) Copy the librasdioif.ko and libra.ko files from the attachment and PASTE them to /system/lib/modules ( If it exists then overwrite ).
2) Change permissions to rw-r--r-- using root explorer.
that's it. Now check the WiFi Tethering.
I was successful in connecting a Samsung WAVE to my Optimus ONE through Tethering. please report if it is working for you !

I posted a test kernel that included this module and users reported that it didn't work. However, I compiled it from francos sources.
This librasdioif.ko was taken directly from Paulos V6 touch kernel (hash confirmed)
I'm no longer looking into this but I've posted a link to this thread in francos kernel thread. fserve or franco may take it from here.
Thanks.
**EDIT**
I suggest you move this discussion to francos kernel thread.
I tried this on stock 2.3.3 ROM with franco 2.6.35.14, it didn't fix it.

open terminal emulator :
Code:
lsmod
if it doesn't answer anything, maybe /system is out of space and kernel fails to copy wifi modules at boot (note that undervolt module wont work either)
try the following :
open any file explorer that is root capable,
go to /system/media/audio/ringtones
delete some ringtones (at least to recover about 3 or 4 MB free, the more is safer) [1.5 MB seems to be enough though ]
reboot
try lsmod and see, if the kernel succeeded to copy modules at boot it's ok and and lsmod outputs what you are waiting for, if not reflash kernel and/or try to install a reduced miniCM10 zip (by deleting ringtones as for the previous way, but in a zip editor)
Or refer,...

It is because you are using nAa 2.6.32.60 05 Kernel, and MiniCM 4.0.2 supports nAa 2.6.29.6 kernel. It is because they have different wifi drivers. Install MiniCM10 4.1.0 instead and it will work fine.
