No idea though about your question lol
Someone will get it sooner or later us cappy users have it through a i9000 kernel and from what I understand that isnt needed u could just change your build.prop to mimic that of the phones that are "ACCEPTED FOR USE"! I recall seeing a thread on this somewhere but im sure you know how to use the search function so good luck!

Nope... It's 2 parts. Stagefright AND an appropriate build.prop

Any way to get whatever version of "blur" the bionic and Droid 3 ported to the photon?
My friend has a bionic and his wife has the Droid 3 and their versions of blur are smoother and faster than the "blur" we have. Id use the stock launcher if it was like theirs. Ours is slow and laggy. Both demo units at my local stores were laggy as well so I know its notmy phone.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Strange, my Blur runs smooth without any hiccups, and im running setcpu at 608mhz. So its underclocked on stock rom and kernel.

I read it has something to do with widgets, not sure if its the number of widgets, Motorola widgets or android widgets that cause the issue.

even with this monster of information reading and work to put in, I would love to see what you brought up........ its shady we got the low end of the stick their launcher is way better than ours ud think with nVid gpu we have id be more likely to have some better animations.... but noooo........ id like to see someone port this over... id gladly donate to the dev that can port the bionic launcher over to our mopho....
This has already been attempted. A few devs have taken a look at this. In my limited time I took a shot also and couldn't figure it out. The search button helps a lot before you start a new thread.

I brought this same thing up when the phone first launched. I really want the droid 3 launcher but it looks like that is a pretty hard task. Motorola's file structure seems to be the most complicated besides Samsung and it's harder than probably thought to be..
I don't think we will officially see it because it's really made for the whole DRoid push that verizon has. I saw somewhere that we actually don't have a blur phone so that's why we are not getting it. The verizon phones are running motoblur.

Waiting for it bigtime....
Ever since my Captivate I've been using my phone to shoot video quite a bit.
When I flashed CM7 onto the Cappy when I would record video it would jump around, backwards, and just mess up entirely. I couldn't see it happen when I was recording. Only on playback. So I flashed stock 2.2 and left it.
I now have the SGSII, so again I try CM7. The camera is performing MUCH better. But still has a slight jump every now and then.
Is this normal?
Also, how would I go about installing a different camera app? I tried a few different ways. Adb and Root explorer to install a "modded camera" to no success. What am I doing wrong?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Seemed to be the proper place as it has to do with CM7 and its development.

and im assuming you need that driver source correct? if so is there any way that you could make the source call for values from the pre-baked driver? ive heard of this being done before on another phone. they hacked around to get it to work with a gingerbread driver.

That would include writing a wrapper which is extremely difficult and I don't know how to it requires a very in dept knowledge of which all the calls mean and how to translate what the new kernel is calling to the old driver

i know one thing that might be worth doing... you could contact "mantera" over here about making a wrapper. cause im pretty sure they did that for the motorola triumph. (and that phone has no source)
http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/488824-dev-continuing-triumph-ics-development.html
i think he is even a member here on this forum too.
but yeah, he would be the one to ask about writing a wrapper.
doesnt the vivid have the same hardware? havent really checked the development over there recently but they have a sense 4.0 port almost fully functioning
Ignore
I'm convinced from a few logs I've seen since the ext.jar fix that the problem is the way it scans for data..
Doesn't the sensation have very similar hardware? Wouldn't their data fix be similar to what we need?
I am convinced that there is some very simple edit that is needed... and tho I hate suggesting it, data was the last issue to be resolved with all the gingerbread roms, has someone tried to contact x to see what the fix was he used for that?
Okay, so there are tons of files in the framework2.jar file that stock has needed for data in com/android/internal/telephony, and the same directory in CM9 framework.jar is missing many files compared to stock..
there is no framework2.jar for cm9, so I'm thinking that either we need to copy the files over that match from framework2.jar(Edit: no files match.. if i do whole directory I get UNEXPECTED TOP-LEVEL EXCEPTIONrg.jf.dexlib.Util.ExceptionWithContext: method index is too large.), or we need to try adding framework2.jar to the bootclasspath of the boot.img. The framework is supposed to be handling part of the data, but the cm9 framework is missing many files..
Basically, the stock rom has everything needed for data split between framework.jar and framework2.jar.. and for cm9/10 we need to recombine parts somehow- but the index for the classes.dex file is written when it is originally built..
Just some things to think about. Elements of framework need to be rebuilt from scratch with some missing files in com/android/internal/telephony contained in the classes.dex of the framework.jar
I don't know if this will help or not, but worth a try

You didnt say f*ck all about "root", All you said was compatibility so the obvious answer was to contact devs to increase compatibility.
Maybe next time you should be more clear about what it is your asking when creating a topic.
Donut!
PS. My Natwest app works fine on a rooted device but obviously HSBC are different in policy. Have you tried blocking root access for app with Superuser, worth a try.

Yes but you didnt mention that the issue was caused by your device/rom been rooted. The only information you gave was that it was incompatible with your rom.

I'm pretty sure this is relatively well known, and we have no use for it as GB is fully functional, and ICS/JB works without camcorder or HWA.

On GB or ICS/JB? On neither do I see issues.

Gb roms are very well built. We don't have them for ics / jb because they were never given to us.
Also do you need a proof reader, or an editor? Sorry my first instinct is to make it a point not to click through any link immediately when I read the word "surce"
