i just installed a different battery meter from a thread in xda HERE and it changed the background to white which is what i want. but i would still really like to know how to do this in case i ever decide to run a stock battery meter and still want a white notification background. cant anyone help me?
I flashed a ROm called MIUI-Gen71 v0.666 Suicidal Edition and all worked out well till I got to the transparency part....
Well i followed the instructions..
But why is my status bar still black ?
I want the transparent status bar, can anyone help me ?

I have made a theme for both Streakdroid 2.4.4 and DSC 0.52. Both of these were made from each one's framework-res and systemui apk's so as not to break any customizations the chef's had put into their roms. The theme uses transparency, numerical battery, custom notification icons, and red accenting. I hope you enjoy. Please make a backup of your framework-res.apk (found under /system/framework) and systemui.apk (found under /system/app) in case you don't like my work. If you have the DSC version of the rom, I've done this for you and you can simply flash the stock DSC file provided.
As always, I assume no responsibility. If you find a bug, you get to keep it. If this breaks your phone, you get to keep the pieces.
The 8MB limit prevents me from uploading them here, so here are some external links:

DSC Blue was added to the post. See below.

What says it is unsupported? These are for flashing in Streakmod.

I would like to see the screen shots. Thanks in advance.
The site is not compatible with your mobile browser...has nothing to do with the themes. You can try to change your browser setting to show up as a desktop pc rather than a phone, use a different browser (I like Dolphin HD), or download from your pc then transfer to your phone.

I'll see if I can work some up tonight. I'll have to rebuild the theme for DSC 0.53 since I've flashed that update since making this post this morning. I can give you a rundown of the settings I used in the UOT Kitchen.
Kalagas animated icons
Digital number style battery bar
Transparency in the pulldown with Bright Silence background. Androidian topbar and notification bar.
Red overglow, red spacer lines, red busy animations and a red glow around popups.
I think the two red codes I used are FF0000 and 850000.
No special fonts or bootanimations.
Nice work. I really like what you did here. Status is no longer so flat. Red highlighting is very cool.

Added my theme for DSC 0.53 to the original post as well. Hopefully later I'll be able to give some screenshots.

Just thinking, since DSC already is green themed, and you already made the red theme, why not a blue theme too. That might cover all the users needs I guess.
Thank you for your work, keep up mate.

Based on the screen shots I would like to have a blue theme as well. I think this thread is going to get really popular once people stop testing their GB ROMs.
Great work, lordmorphous!
Looks beautiful, nice work!
LOL @ 40kB over the upload limit... great work dude! thanks a tonne!

Yeah...closest I can find to actually having them function in the notification bar like Samsung's Touchwiz
Sorry to trouble you
Guys,
Just updated/flashed it . (Going to Recovery Mode, Selecting .zip from sd card and choosing the themes.zip file)
Now, My carrier name is (No service). Is there a way to edit it / Change it ?
Suppose if we want to go back to old theme, do we have an option to change theme (Like Win7/XP)?
Thanks
appus
Can someone link me to a full white status bar with black icon for MIUI

Hi,
I can't give you a link but you can try editing your status bar with romtoolbox. worked fine for me.
