Hibernate/Fastboot mode not working? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everytime I hit hibernate in the power menu now, yes fastboot is checked, it just powers off the phone normally. Any fixes, ideas?

I don't know. I had the same problem too. So I'm going to hop on this topic. And why is it that Hot Restart prevents me from receiving texts/calls until I do a proper restart?

Airplane mode issue

Whenever I put my vibrant on airplane mode, I can never take it off. Phone settings will have it unchecked but if I hold down power, it is grayed out. The airplane symbol won't go away either. When I reboot, it shows airplane mode on but this time it'll actually come off.
I'm on bionix 1.7 ji6 but it happened when I was on stock rom also. I just haven't come across a fix to this

I may have misread your post, but I am unable to fly when my phone is in airplane mode as well.
Hopefully someone will post a solution as it's rather inconvenient.

Google Talk

Ive tried researching this but I have came up empty handed. It appears once my screen is off google talk is logged out. How do I keep google talk always logged in?
Thanks for any help!

I really hope this isnt a wide spread thing. I use Google talk heavily. I cant afford for it to disconnect upon my screen timing out. I havent used it since I activated my phone to test though.
Maybe check under the power saver option in settings. There is an option to turn off background data when the screen turns off. Maybe that's it?

I will try that setting out and report back

Just uncheck auto away status and it will stop logging out.

Is anyone else having an issue where google talk won't load for them? I touch the icon and it looks like it loads for a second then flashes back to the app drawer. I tried clearing the application data, didn't help, and of course I can't uninstall/reinstall

Yup, I have to restart the phone to get it working. I also notice that Restart does NOT restart the phone for me. It powers it down.

I have both of those exact same problems. Hopefully, the next software update will fix these issues.

Power up an android

Is it possible to schedule a power up on an android that is completely powered off, like you can do with a pc in its bios?
Thanks

I once asked this about a computer and got the reply
"You mean a program that will reach out and press the power button for you? No."
I know it is possible in the bios of some computers. I had a very old cell phone which would power itself on if you had an alarm set. Though I have not seen that function in many years.

Lol you have to love it when you get a reply from a sarcastic person who is clueless.
I will try the alarm thing, and maybe an alarm app or 2

The device can not be completely powered off otherwise how would it kniw when to turn on? in computers this is done with the bois battery and then normaly a lan connection to get the message to start.
So the simple answer is no. You can on some decives put it into a deep sleep but it cant be turned back on if you want it completely off without some physical action

Phone freezing when toggling mobile data

Whenever I toggle mobile data on/off the phone freezes but the power button will still toggle the screen on and off but the device will not respond until it eventually reboots. This happens when I turn wifi off, but not on, or when airplane mode is toggled. I have tried from settings and the status bar.
I'm running Stock, rooted, deodexed from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044351 along with the APN editor flash (method 1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044449 with Setup Wizard frozen. I also have extsd2internalsd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796 installed to utilize my 64gb sd card.
I tried to get a logcat using adb logcat *:W *:S but it was empty.
Anybody know what's going on before I wipe and try again?
Thanks
As weird as this sounds it appears to have been FB Messenger. Clean installs worked so I reinstalled one by one and this was the only app to cause the device to hot boot when toggling wifi or mobile data.

Nevermind, FB Messenger wasn't the culprit.
It turns out it was the AT&T VM Viewer app (for U-Verse VM). No problems if it's just installed but if you are logged in then whenever the apps loses connectivity (toggling wifi, mobile data, airplane mode, etc) the phone hot boots. This just reminded me the app would FC on my old Incredible 2 when the connection state changed.

Annoying short vibration

My phone keeps (seemingly randomly) performing a very short vibration when using it. I've checked logcat but can't see anything obvious that's causing it.
I don't have haptic feedback on, no accessibility options enabled and no keyboard input vibrations. I've also turned off smart alert.
Its stock, rooted and I've frozen/removed most of the bloatware.
Any ideas?

Maybe you are using the leaked JB 4.2 stock ROM?

"I've also turned off smart alert"
Thanks, but it isn't on (see above).
Does anyone have any real suggestions of what's going on?
I'm wondering if there is some kind of background error vibration that occurs?

I know this is a long route to take, but uninstall all your apps, or as many as you can, and see if this still happens, I suspect an app is causing this,I had similar on S1, and I'm sure it came down to a rogue app
I've found similar (maybe connected) issue. When I receive for example the text message the screen remains turned-off, however when I touch it, it shortly vibrates once. When I turn the screen on it is still at the pattern locker. Not annoying but strange behaviour.
