Ok...
Whatsapp works, Email works. But SMS notification just doesn't...
Tried shutting down, changing ringtone, and even the power button+ volume down trick.Nothing is working.
SMS just silently comes in...
Help??
From within "Text Messaging" app, press the menu button [left most physical touch key].
Then go to "Messaging Settings". Scroll all the way down to Notification settings.
Adjust the settings accordingly to what you'd like.

I'll be glad to press the thanks button(even if it doesn't work) only if I could understand what it meant.
From Google Play:
Description
This background service allows you to light on or off your device by proximity sensor. You just cover and release the sensor by finger, to switch your device's screen on and off.
Please activates the LightLock by "Setting" > "Location & security" > "Select device admin", and remember to inactivates it before uninstall it.
Use it and watch your battery drain fast
Now why would someone want anything like that.Unless your power button stops working.
How could you dont need it if you cant boot the phone without it
Actually you can boot phone without power button if you have 2nd init, plug in charger and wait for blue led and enter bootmenu, select boot, 2nd init.
LightLock kills your battery™

sorry if i am posting this in the wrong section
what i am looking for is a dev to write an app for me that would make it so whenever you tried to go to the home screen you needed to enter a password
Before it's closed... enable a lockscreen lock feature in the settings menu.
Questions go in the Q&A section - not the Dev section
it's not a question im asking a developer to write a small app for me and elegos im looking for when i exit the app not turn the device on

As the user above said you can enable the lock screen to have a pattern or pin to unlock it and set it to lock immediately after screen off via power button . So when your done browsing or using your tab you just push the power button to turn the screen off and it will lock automatically. So when you hit the power button to turn the screen on to use the tab again you'll be prompted for a pin/pattern. No need for a special app.
but i never said power button i said HOME button i dont want then to have access to the HOME screen

There is an application called surelock available in market which locks down your system and stops people accessing the home screen and other applications. There is a free trial available.
When your done using the tablet push the power button which will power off the screen and lock the tab. They won't be able to access anything without entering the code/pin.

Hi all. It may seem a silly question and probably it is but there are apps (in this case Touchdown mail client) that haven't an icon to open the in app settings menu. With my previous phones I used a physical button, usually long press on the back button, to open it. But how to do it with the single button p9000? Thank you.
Very good question, they seem to have forgotten about apps that need a physical key for menu, have you tried enabling the softkeys to see if the menu button appears on them for you? Can the "Smart Button" not be setup to be the menu key? or is it only to open apps? I not played with it myself..
Still searching how to have the MENU inside applications, softkeys does not work !
I would ask the software maker! The phone maker won't add more physical buttons.
And multiple press are always software driven!
Even if the phone maker did, that won't help you out with the old hardware...
Doesn't seem to be an answer anywhere online so here goes:
Go to settings > Navigation bar > Turn On.
Go to app you need a menu on > swipe up from bottom to bring up the Nav bar.
Three dots appear on the end of the nav bar. Done.
If the three dots don't appear; click on the recent tasks button and then go back into the app and they should come up.
Tried and tested with EZ Drop.
- Doesn't seem to work with apps with the built in "three dots" menu.
I use ‘Menu Button (No root)’ by JetToast free on the Play store, to get round this problem.

The title says all, fact is that I find pretty irritating that the power button doesn't do the only thing it should do, any way to fix it? Maybe I'm missing something in the settings?
I use it for "ok google".
To turning off the phone instead, I resolved using Macrodroid app ((( https://play .google. com/store/apps/details?id=com.arlosoft.macrodroid&hl=en_GB ))) and set a button widjet on screen (or on the collapse title o wherever you want) with when I trigger it star action "power options". Working without root certified.
