[Q] Which ROM? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
This is after long time I've decided to upgrade my T-mobile Vibrant again and would like to know which are the best ROMs I should opt?
I am currently running on Nero v5:
Firmware: 2.2
Baseband version: T959UVKA5
KERNEL: 2.6.32.9
Need you recommendations?
Thank you,
Nikhil

Give trigger 3.2 a try. Its very stable and everything works.

They're all good. Personnel preference really.

Try Jillete's SGS II Clone, its very beautiful and I'm running it with Bullet kernel, which can be found at EDT forums.

Any feedback about "Simply Honey 3.5 Revolution"?

Bi-Winning v2 best of the best IMO.

CM7 very stable

I'm a BIG fan of MALICE. Fastest speeds and best battery life for me to date. It's one of the few ROMs I find myself going back to. Plus its theme styling is my cup of tea. Of course I'm a flash addict/whore (aren't we all) and currently I'm running the latest TW release with no complaints. Listen to the masses and check them all out(you know you wanna). Good luck!

cm7 works awesome, but you have to keep in mind that gps is currently not working. everything else works great.

[Q] Best Froyo Custom ROM for Vibrant?

Please help me to choose best custom ROM for VIBRANT.........
Flash and test all of them yourself. We have no idea what you prefer and we are not mind readers.
Everyone just ignore these types of posts
OP,
this section is purely for development and not general questions. You can try asking this in the Q&A section but I would refine your question to include what you like in a rom? Are you looking for a stockish 2.2, fast, minimal tocuhwiz, no touchwiz, etc...

I will say this question has been asked a million times. It's user preference. It all depends on what YOU like. Take a look at the android development section. There are some videos on the custom ROM's. Take a look at user postings to see feedback. Educate yourself on what the developers have created.
I have flashed 4 different ROM's and used them each about 4-5 days to see what I like. Now I stick with the best!

I just got a vibrant and I'm pretty new to the forum. I'm looking to upgrade to a rom for speed. I don't know what touchwiz is so I don't care. Just as long as I have stable fast speed with some decent starting apps.
What is good rom for fast stable speed (Overclock speed)?
One with touchwiz and one without?

Touchwiz is Samsung's version of Android kinda like Motorola's Motoblur and HTC's Sense or Expresso. It includes Samsung's apps, widgets, the dialer and all the icons just to name some.
Alot of people don't like Touchwiz because they think it bogs down the phone or they don't like the look of it. Personally I like certain elements of it.
They are many roms out there but for me I go back and forth between Axura and Mancut. Currently I am on Mancut 13 because it suits me perfectly based on the look, speed, included apps and over all stability.
Axura kinda offers the same thing but his roms are more themed, either way you can't go wrong with either of them.
use macnut R13 thats what im using and its pretty good so far

Yes, you can,
you are on JFD stock.
I would go for the "TARD" rom
My favorite color is blue, so i would recommend bionix next gen(never tried it but hear alot of good things), or trigger, i think trigger was awesome. But i agree with everyone else, its good to try them all .

Bionix 1.3.1 and Project-V are your best bets for battery and style.
Bi winning V3 is an absolute beast on my phone. Best rom I've ever ran.
Bi-winning V3
custom roms for vibrant
I use bionix v1.3.1 rom by team whiskey with dragon kernel overclock to 1360mhz, so far its fast and stable

Good upgrade on Nero v.2?

Hey I am sporting Nero v2 since December on my Vibrant, and am looking for a reliable upgrade. Anyone recommend a fairly bug free rom that is better than Nero v2 to upgrade to? Main thing is that the phone features need to be reliable... Phone calls, and SMS/MMS work. Speed an added bonus.
Thanks much for advice.
I was maybe still a hugh fan of tw but I just started flashing a lot of roms til. Came across Trigger's rom and haven't flashed anything else.
My vote is going to Trigger.
Ps..you might get some **** for not posting this in Q&A. Good luck!

Bionix by TW or Trigger by EDT in my opinion are the best 2.2 roms.

Good lord, please read the sections you post in before posting. This is a question. Q&A.

Trigger or Bionix.. seeing how you don't flash often i'd try bionix. It's not updated as often (if ever again)
Trigger or bionix. I've been tw all the way, tried trigger gave me the same experience so went back to bionix.

I agree with this. Both are fast and stable. I got better battery and less minor bugs on Trigger though

Trigger is my first pick, and slap the Tiger Blood kernel on it. Then Axura, then TW Bionix. But that's just my opinion. BTW, you should read and post in the right place fam, people get hype for this kind of stuff...... I am a fan of the Tiger Blood kernel just because on my phone at least, it has given me the better battery life thus far.
Moved to Q&A. Please do not post question threads in Development.
I went from nero v5 to loki 2.4 (has been removed though) and was pleasantly impressed how well the 2.2.1 rom ran in comparison. So any of the 2.2.1 flavor roms would strongly get my vote.

Best rom?

Im looking for either a 2.2.1 rom or a 2.2 with ffc. I spend most my time playing ball and the only way I get to see my girl is on the weekends, I wanted a got rom that supports ffc (very well) so I can see my girl more. So what is the best rom that offers FFC, good battery, and data.. everything really doesn't matter to me except those three thing.. in suggestions?

Trigger 3.2 that's what im running. Best rom you'll have to flash different ones to see witch ones you like better. I would start with trigger you will really enjoy it.
Bi-Winning V3 is 2.2.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105907
Bionix Frost http://board.teamwhiskey.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1742
These are two pretty good ones. Im currently running Bi-Winning V3 and its great. Remember to hit the thanks button if this helped!
Can bionix frost work with a i9000 camera?

Looking for a set up suggestion.

Hi I just got a free used vibrant. I'm gonna use it as a back up phone. My primary is a Galaxy S 4G, running ICBINB. It's extremely smooth and stable with great battery life. I'm hoping someone can suggest a ROM for the Galaxy S Vibrant that's considered extremely stable and smooth with great battery life. I'm not really concerned about quadrant scores, just want stability and smoothness with lagfix like my 4G running ICBINB. Thanks.
Try project v with bali kernal

Try ZenDroid. Very fast and stable with excellent battery life.

Lol this is a spamfest but...CM7. End of story.
And the Vibrant is actually a better device (with much more ROM/dev support) than your GalaxyS 4G unless you are concerned about the data network.
Bi-winng V3, zero issues, very fast and stable. Kernel has overclock ability. Dev is super nice guy and it has great support.
Almost all the froyo roms are perfectly stable and fast with great batt life... gingerbread isnt incredibly stable but its FAST and cm7 is great but youll have to deal with lack of gps and batt drain, so i suggesr froyo roms like bionix 1.3.1 or project v5
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
Anyone suggesting Gingerbread is leading you astray per your criteria.
Honestly, Trigger (2.2.. not the one based on CM7) would be my suggestion, or Project-V.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I will definitely go with one of the froyo roms, Thanks again!
I also used project v with bali kernal and was very happy.
Currently running GingerZen_RC3. I am having some issues with the GPS, but I'm will ing to make that sacrifice. No other issues at all with GingerZen.

GingerZen is pretty nice, but Dev On Hold until a JVR kernel is out
Can someone confirm a working gps on revamped, project v, or trigger 2.3?

Whats the best/stablest rom for the Vibrant?

I am about to update my sister phone 2.1 to 2.2 but decide to just root it and flash a custom rom. What would be the best stable rom for it? She really just needs GPS working. Thanks
All the 2.2 roms pretty much the same stability-wise. It will just be a matter of personal preference to be honest. I like ZenDroid.
Bionix 1.3.1 with overstock kernel
