Can't seem to find full info on this...so far I see screenshot like stuff off web, pdf files, pictures...
My big question is powerpoints. If I'm going to use this for notes it'll be a necessity to be able to scribble on those slides...anyone know if that's viable?

The way note taking works is to take a snapshot of the display and then save any
Hand written notes that are over layed. So for Powepoint you would send jpegs of each slide you commented on.

Jah can you give us an idea of the performance versus the Galaxy Tab? Does it feel faster? Sadden its not a dual core....this might not matter now but it surely will in 6 months.
Much smoother than the Galaxy Tab and the screen is of better quality. Sense UI makes the overall experience much better as well.

Can I say I wish I was you right now lol.. I really want this tablet for this note taking ability so I have to ask you one question. Is the pen accurate enough to take notes on a smaller scale? Not like a giant scribble that they show in all the videos.
Have you compared the ntrig pen system to the wacom pen system found in many higher end windows 7 tablet PCs?
I only have experience with the wacom tablets and they work awesome!
You can make detail notes but i think you will need a Matt screen protector as the screen is to slippery for more than a few short notes.

I hope all phones become like this. That way charging will be a thing of the past not to mention screens that can fold to fit in your pocket and expand when you want to watch a movie.
Brilliant idea.
edit: all they need to do now is make it stereoscopic 3D

100 thread views and no reply. sad.
Yes. I recommend it against other tablets I have used- iPad, Galaxy tab 10.1, HP something.
The community on xda for this device is little though.
Honestly, as much as I like this tablet, I cannot recommend it though. I get a crappy wifi signal on it and crashes and I have just a better experience on my galaxy tab.
U mean it crashes to the white screwn with HTC logo? It seems every damn htc is affected... I guess i shall wait for mwc, maby there we shall find an update..

I love mine... great for taking notes, opening word, excel, and PowerPoint files... amazing for drawing with sketchbook pro and Photoshop.
I'm extremely happy with mine. Have experienced none of the issues mentioned elsewhere in this thread. Love note-taking with the Quill app I downloaded from the market, and it's great having access to 4G LTE.
Is the stylus responsive? I mean can i write without it lagging behind?
Sent from derp-mobile
Sure. I'm using mine as a notebook for university.
Yeah I recommend this tablet. Run well, and does everything that I need it to do.
For those of you who use it, Microsoft released One Note for Android.
It’s free for the first 500 notes after that it’s $4.99.

Great, thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting for this one for a long time. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it supports digitizer/scribe input right now.

I Was at least hoping that I could view the ink that I did on my samsung slate but it doesn't do that either. This app has a long way to go imo.
Which is better? One Note or Evernote?
EVERNOTE!

W/o support for digitizer input, this is a pretty non-descript app.

I know they had mentioned a few times they wouldn't forget about 7" tablets. Very few of those are of such a high res. And they are developing a phone version. And they showed it running on a 7" tablet. Bottom line, IMHO we should be OK.

It would, it would just take some very minor APK changes i believe
So dont give up hope
Yeah the lack of launchers is probably the worst thing about being on honeycomb. Sense launcher/AOSP launcher, nearly identical aside from the fact that the AOSP one sports a sense-ish look and supports the sense widgets. Its not terrible, but the lack of folder support sucks, and there really isn't any real alternatives for honeycomb other than Go Launcher HD, but even then you loose your WYSIWYG widgets, and the launcher is still in early stages and imo kind of an ugly beast at this point. All the phone launchers work fine, but they don't support the honeycomb look. ADW EX is supposed to work pretty well for honeycomb but they hosed it with the last update...in December so I think Anderweb is gone.
So I do hope this launcher does pan out to give us another alternative.

I went back and re-read the info they provided. After commenting that their initial release was to be targeted at the 10" tablet they did say they planned to support 7" tablets. I thought I saved the paragraph to Pocket but I don't have it so I can't provide the exact quote.

I acquired an APK just now. Works on HC, will test on ICS soon.
I will drop a hint: GIYF
If you guys want a small review or anything if it's worth your money just ask.
$10? Jeez my interest just faded. No matter how cool it is its just a launcher. I have a hard time spending that kind of cash on anything for android! It's like that spb shell launcher. It looks gorgeous but it's $14. What if I don't like it? Then I got 15 minutes to get a refund.
Maybe they should give you a week trial with this stuff. The money might be worth it but you just don't know. It's still in beta so hopefully they have a trial when it launches
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I honestly wouldn't call it a beta. It's more of an alpha as you can't add your own widgets or have your on wallpaper.
as the title says, currently i have the samsung note 2 but thinking about getting the htc one but, i'd like to get some your feelings on the phone. what are the things YOU DONT LIKE about the phone. can you stream movies from your phone to your samsung or LG tv? thank you for your feedback.
u need a htc toggle or something similiar to stream, cant stream direct from phone. not fair to compare note 2 to htc 1 so will just list the pros
pros of htc
nice body
fast ultrapixel camera and zoe. nice gallary interface
cons of htc
medicore battery
shortchange you with 720p screen instead of 1080p
sense 5 interface is slow and sluggish after a few mths of usage, badly written.
please try the phone first if you can. open up simple things you usually do on your phone and see if you can get use to it.
if you wanna try a htc phone,i rather you consider the butterfly S. otherwise wait for sony honami or lg g2. samsung is getting so boring for me and their strategy to launch s4 in so many version pisses consumers off.

gosh my bad. i mean not a 5" screenie ><
Sent from my C6503 using XDA Premium HD app
IMHO, the only thing "better" about the Note 2, is the screen size. Yesterday with moderate to heavy use, I was out of the house for almost 18hrs....got home with 20% battery remaining.
Being a previous Note 2 user, I can tell you that the battery life is miles ahead of the One. That and the screen size are the only two things that I would say the Note has over the One.

There is so much wrong with this post. The One has surprisingly good battery life with it's 1080p screen and small(ish) battery. Sense 5 does NOT lag at all. I've had this phone since launch and it still does not lag.

Sent from my C6503 using XDA Premium HD app
Well bro your experience was an uneducated one, because there were several things wrong with your post like the previous user stated.
1080p screen (not 720p like you said), easily stream your media to your TV directly from your phone (it's in settings > more), Sense 5 is easily the smoothest experience I've ever had (and I owned the Nexus 4 prior to this phone) so what experience are you talking about? lol

I came from tmobile galaxy s3, iPhone 5, note 2, and Sony Xperia z.
Finally I bought the HTC one.
I felt like I made a good decision.
Sure, note 2 had amazing battery life, but I thought that the phone was too big and heavy for me.
If you're strickly for battery life, note 2 is the best. Hands down.
Now for HTC one, this might have worse battery life compare to note 2. But you can buy battery pack to charge it when you need it.
Also, there are excellent Roms out, like android revolution HD. Gives better battery life and tweaks added.
If you have extra cash to spend, HTC one is a great choice. But note 2 is still good and not lacking tech. That's until note 3 comes out.
