Not sure about this, mine does say "Noble Black" on the box and it's a 'grey' finish to the silver surround.
That's just the reflection of the flash making it look silver.

Box says noble black. Mine looks exactly the same as yours. It just might look different due to the light reflection from flash/windows etc.

I can't believe people have had this phone for like 36 hours and this is the first thread!!!
Yep the 3D does have light bleed along the bottom of the screen and up the sides. Doesn't appear to be as bad as the Evo 4G but it is there.
And I don't thing the power button is any different either. It the same hard to find one on my Evo 4g.

Your saying in a dark room the bottom edge of the phone doesn't glow a bit?? I bet if you check especially with a lighter image on the phone you will see it.

Yup, same here. It's minor, and doesn't really bother me. Barely noticeable.
The powerbutton though, how's it hard to find? It's always in the same spot and never moves!
yes, this is one of the things i wish htc fixed but i have it too.. im going to ask for a new one because i have a white spot near the home button from the light.. guess the black under the glass didnt cover that little pin size spot.
as for the light bleed... i always use a case on my phone, do i dont see it much. sucks that its there i guess but not a deal breaker

Mine is the same way, a little light bleeding from the capacitive buttons, but not a big deal at all.
I see it in a well lit room. I had to go in a dark room with my dslr to get the picture. maybe I'll get a case but I sure do like to streak.

To each there own. Personally I don't like companies doing shotty work on any part of my device. It's not bad but when I'm laying in bed on the EVO it was annoying and could make watching videos not good. Like I said I'm weird but I like my products made with care and without batch defects.
That being said it not as bad as the original but its a shame they couldn't fix such a stupid issue.

Of course it's not a big deal, but it's really something that just shouldn't happen. When cheaper phones by HTC can have no leaks, then it means it's all just a matter of quality control.
Both phones have light bleed at the bottom. It's there. It is very hard to photograph. I won't go into why it is so hard to photograph. But it shows up very well in a bright room.

So I just have a quick question...I noticed back when I had my sensation that there were 2 different companies that manufactured their screens. There was a huge noticeable difference. One looked fine from all angles and one looked washed out if you tilted the phone. I've noticed on my amaze that if you tilt the phone the screen gets a little washed out. Does this happen to anyone else? Does your serial number start with HT19?

Cause I think the HT19 just means it's a black Amaze.
My sister has a white one and it reads SH1A for first 4.

I do have the black. When I had a couple different sensations some had HT16 and some HT15 and that's how you could tell the difference between the screen manufacturers.
What I'm saying is that if you look straight on at the status bar for example and then tilt it slightly it seems to get washed out.
By washed out do you mean a very noticeable color shift ? Mine definitely isn't like an IPs display, but it's still decent. My nexus one has way better viewing angles but horrible glare.

I went through the whole inferior and superior screen with the MT4G and I am NOT looking forward to going through it with the Amaze. Lol.
So if there ARE two different displays....

could we get some screenshots of the good screens for comparisons please? i went through 3 different amazes and they all seem to have the bad/washed out screen but i do sure hope they have good screens on some like how the mytouch4g was.. i went through 5 different mytouch4g's just to get the good screen lol.. i just wanna know if there are good screens out there so it would be worth it to keep exchanging to find a good screen and if not then i wont need to keep exchanging

I first experimented with a few different colors on my old nexus s 4g, and settled on Krylon Fusion Buttercream for my new EVO.
It works for me.

Looks good, but I'd be interested to find a matching matte black like the bottom. I have a couple friends who are auto painters, so I might have it done when I get mine. We'll see. The shiny black might grow on me.

Thank you! I think I'm the only one that things the contrasting colors AND contrasting surfaces (matte/glossy) on the back is hot. Didn't anyone learn anything in Art class? Contrast people.
I teach HS and already, day 2 of having it, people are saying "Oh wow what is that? That is live!" Instead of "That looks like every other phone."
While the paintjob is well done, I don't agree with the choice of color. Did you at least sand the cover before you painted?

I agree. I think they pulled off the contrast very well, particular because of the red band. But your right. The phone looks sleek and different, but in a good way.
What I also like is that it was a bold design move. Not many are willing to break the conceptual mold that a phone is suppose to look like.
Do a test, go out in public, whip out the phone with its huge screen and contrasting back with a red band. People notice. What is that? Damn straight.

I did sand it first as I was following a post from another thread, and intended to just leave it sanded. I didn't like the result. Mine didn't look as good as the posted sanded phone, so I painted it.
I didn't mind the glossy black color at all, just hated the constant fingerprints. My old glossy black backed nexus didnd't seem to leave fingerprints as bad this EVO.
Believe me when I say that I had no intention of going the "buttercream" route at all. I had 4 colors of Krylon Fusion in the house and tried them all on my old Nexus S. Flat black, satin white, buttercream, and a light green.
For some reason the buttercream in person looked best to me, and best of all, no more fingerprints. I don't mind the derogatory comments posted by some as my wife gave me crap too before seeing the finished phone. The photo was taken from my work blackberry so it isn't the best and looks much better live.
I just thought I would post it as so many talk about changing the back, yet nobody has/does....... well I did for better or worse.

Yeah, I have white and it's pretty annoying. My button even looks like it's a bit twisted, and isn't lined up properly. I'll probably try and take care of covering it with something myself instead of buying a sticker. The white of the button is even more white than the rest of the phone.

Nope. Etched means it's physically carved into the button. You aren't getting that off.

Since it's etched INTO the button.. meaning the words Verizon and their dumb logo is basically cut into it.. so no, applying all the nailpolish remover in the world will not do what we'd like.
I'm also bothered by the illusion that the whole damn thing is crooked! lol I have tried to turn the key a bit to see if there's slop..
I have white also and while it's a little annoying at first, I'll live with it.
its a little tiring but I will wait for other solutions which are sure to come soon

i'd like to mention i dont think the gray is etched in. I compared both phones and my nails dont get caught in the gray one like the white does. THis could be because the button is painted. I dont really want to gamble this theory with nail polish remover tho or non-acetone chemical.
The logo on the button isn't a big deal to me....thought I would hate it, but nah.

today i went to sammy local store in my city
and i had alot of time with the S6 Edge all colors!
i must say i was one of the guys who realy liked the green but after seeing the green in real life i must say and aware other ppl that the green is very uglly :\\\\ i rly hated it and was disapointed with it
the white is very simple...you barely see fingerprints on it but white is white...that simple.
the black/blue was realy cool and good looking i rly liked it
but the one that was the best looking is the GOLD!!! that damm gold was amazing...

Thanks for your feedback.
I felt that the gold reflects too much light. It's like holding a mirror and that's distracting. If you're in a dimly lit environment, it seems alright.
